After he paid the $500, they sold it as a new engine and he picked up the car. It died four days later. February 2025!!!! On 2/18 my partner came in to test drive a car on their lot that I was super interested in. It was a manual and I haven't totally mastered it, so he went to make sure everything felt and looked good before we started to show interest. He told me everything looked great and that I should come in to look at it myself. I left my job an hour early to get to the lot before they close to see if they could appraise my current car to get numbers and talk trade in. We were told the appraiser (owner) had just left and we would have to come back another day. So we did, and this time we made an appt. Unfortunately, even after making an appt, the owner was still not there on time and they told us he wouldn't be there for a while to look at my trade in. In the meantime we asked for the bill of sale to have the exact numbers and after doing so was asked to sign it. Never in my life have I been asked to sign a bill of sale even though I was not able to purchase the car without the appraisal. Red flag #2 and we should've ran from there but because I really wanted this car I chose to look past it. After collecting my contact info, we left and then decided maybe we would pass because of all the obstacles we've jumped through. Not hearing anything from them and feeling like my time was incredibly wasted, I decided to come in and talk to them about all the inconveniences that happened. I sat down with Vernon Love and explained that I felt like my time was played with and wasted and that I was incredibly disappointed in their professionalism and how the owner does business. I explained to him that even though he was contacting my partner about the car, that I WAS THE ONE PURCHASING!!! I made that known the day we collected the bill of sale. He met me with a ridiculous excuse that sounded sexist and that because he was talking to my partner, he didn't want to go behind his back to me because it might seem sneaky. This place kept having cars pop up that were on our want list for a first time driver. The guys here seemed to e knowledgeable and helpful when it came to making a selection. When we explained what we were looking for they actually steered us away from a couple makes/models ... that they actually had on lot at a higher price. They gave a sound reason for the recommendation and didn't try to be overly pushy or anything like that. Easy going when it came to test driving and checking out cars, even made a couple quick requests on one car so we could take it back out for a second drive. They were upfront and honest with us with regard to all fees and out the door cost when we called prior to going. I would say that the final purchase of the vehicle is really pretty much identical to that of any other car dealership .... I think you're always ready to be done at this point and probably don't have much patience left though. I would recommend these guys! read more

Car Purchase Nightmare; GIA stole my car; NO Trust 5/19/21 - Paid GIA almost $11,000 to purchase a 2011 Nissan Maxima with credit card and check. Paid in full for the vehicle. Was promised $200 worth of repairs would be done and parts ordered. After paying I found one part in the trunk and told them the part was in the trunk. Another part was ordered incorrectly but they installed it anyways. It tore off bottom of car. Asked them to order and install correct part, they refused. So I disputed the $200 for the repairs. American Express inadvertently disputed the wrong amount but they fixed it b/c I called them after I found out. Instead of GIA allowing the dispute process to play thru they stole the vehicle off my driveway and called it a 'Repossession'. How can a car be repo'ed when it is paid in full? I found the stolen car hidden at the back of their car lot. The battery cables were disconnected and someone rummage thru all of my personal belongings. While on site, called Forsyth County Sheriff's department but they said it was a civil matter and I had to go to court since GIA never filed the paperwork to transfer title to me so the title was still in their name. Since then, GIA wanted me to pay $699 as a Repo Fee to return the vehicle to me. Told them NO. At this point they still have nearly $7,000 of mines plus the car but they refunded amount I paid on credit card. So they are holding my remaining money hostage. As a result I filed a civil lawsuit versus GIA at Forsyth County Magistrate Court for the illegal repossession of my vehicle which is theft since there were no loans on the vehicle, for the remaining balance of my money they are holding hostage, and for all of my attorney fees. 3 mos later, while waiting to go to court, GIA sold the vehicle for the same amount I paid. If you have been wrong by GIA and they refuse to do right, you have to file a legal suit versus them to get them to do right. Otherwise, they will bully you and strong arm you to do what they want versus what is in the best interest of all parties to make everyone feel as if they won something during the transaction. We are in process of my suit versus them. I'm praying for a positive favorable outcome. *GIA will respond and say I asked for gas money and was rude. But everything I've wrote is based on facts, activities that happened btwn myself and GIA, plus the 23+ pages of the contract/bill of sale that was used for me to purchase the vehicle. read more

They had a used Corolla exactly like I wanted, so I made the long drive to Alpharetta to see it. I am always on my guard, especially after a brand-name used car dealer tried to rip me off the week before. However, salesman Vernon was a pleasant, honest, and low-pressure surprise. The neat thing about this dealer is they have a good in-house repair shop. The windshield had a small crack, and they replaced it with a new one before I picked the car up. Plus their cars are detailed to spotless condition before delivery. One caution- they hold the title and tag submission for a while in case the customer decides they want to return the car. If you are happy with your purchase after a couple of days, call the owner to have him submit the tag and title applications right away. Otherwise, you might be biting your nails as your temporary tag nears the expiration date. If I ever need another car in my life, I would easily buy from this dealer again. read more

It was exactly what I was looking for so I called up and talked to Greg. I went over, drove the vehicle, liked it and everything seemed in order. This was on a Friday. Went back on Monday with a check and signed all the paperwork. Good clean transaction. I'm quite happy. We'll see how the car goes and if needed I'll update my review. We tried to purchase a car today and agreed on a price. We left to get a cashiers check and then returned with the agreed upon amount. At that point, we were told the terms were not as we understood them to be. No free maintenance and no included 6 month warranty. Once their lack of integrity had become evident, we found the same car in Marietta at a better price and purchased. Now here's where it gets interesting... Bought 2 cars from them a couple of weeks ago. One on a Friday and the other on a Sunday. Uneventful transactions. However promises were made and up to this point broken. Car #1 only had one key. On Sunday when buying car #2 I noticed a sign that said that the shop programs keys. I asked the sales guy Vern how much do they charge. Vern said that if you buy the car from them it's free. So I bought a blank from Amazon. Car #2 had 2 keys but Vern only had access to one. He said I could drop back by when I get the other key programed and pick it up. Yesterday my kid calls in to arrange a time to pick up car #2's key and program car #1's key. Apparently Vern is out for a while and this other guy said they charge $120 to program the key and he didn't know anything about car #2's key and according to my kid his willingness to help was obviously low. I called back and got the same guy. I firmly, not being ugly, explained that Vern made these promises and I would like them to follow through. Guy told me he's look for the missing key and speak to the owner about programming the key and call me back. Naturally, I haven't heard back. I know it's just a couple of keys but it's going to cost me about $250 to get 2 keys cut and programmed and these guys have less than zero concern. Their cars are nice for the most part but outside of Vern their customer service sucks. One would think that they would want me to come back and by a couple of more cars. They essentially broke a handshake deal that would have cost them nothing to follow though with. I can't imagine how they would act if it were a major challenge. Plenty of nice car places out there. I'm done with these guys. If you can't trust a company to do right by the small things, you certainly can't trust that they'll do right by the big ones. read more

This was our third time charm. My son had been looking for a car to replace his 1998 Corolla. We tried at a BIG local dealer. They tried to add an extra year of payments on to an already over priced car. We tried a smaller car dealer, (an aquatinted person) and the car we bought died less than 24 hours after we drove it home. GIA had cars in our price range and the car we bought (2009 Honda Civic coupe) has been my sons dream car. We are still waiting on the replacement tail light (after going three different times to try to get it replaced) That is the only reason they don't get a 5 star. Sales staff is typical. We looked at a late model sedan with a clean CarFax from GIA. It drove well and seemed like a decent enough of a car. When I asked about the intake inspection and what it covers, the salesman said "we check everything" but when I asked for the checklist they would not share that information. As I dug deeper they noted in the add they had replaced front brakes, both rotors, and tie rods. They salesman (several in fact) would not answer questions as to what they service center found on their inspection that necessitated that much work before despite repeated inquiries. They dodge, they deflected and in the end refused to provide this basic information. I found their tactics very disconcerting and it raised suspisions that there was more wrong with the car than they were willing to disclose. In the end we walked away and I will not go back to GIA. I could have taken it for an independent inspection but given their evasiveness I didn't think it would be a worthwhile investment. I did not find the staff at all trustworthy. Purchased my car from them in January, I paid for a the tag upon purchase and only a few weeks after buying the check engine light came on and while I'm going to fix it they are now saying I can't get my tag until my car passes emissions even though ive already paid for the tag and was not made aware that the car would have to pass emissions before I'd get the tag. I'm unhappy with this and am now rushing to get my car fixed before my temporary tag expires. read more

This was an awful experience. I think the worst part about it was that we THOUGHT it was amazing! We were looking for a car for our 17-year-old daughter. We found one online at this location and drove over from Canton to check it out. From the outside, it looked great. There were no high-pressure sales and everyone was nice. We asked to take it for a test drive, which they were fine with, but the car was LITERALLY on fumes so we didn't make it a block. That should've told me something. They did NOT want us to see how this car drove. My husband said he didn't feel anything but couldn't tell. The head salesman told us that another family had called about the car and that we had gotten there right on time. He told us what a great car it was and that he drive it home one night so that he knew what a great car it was and would be for MY KID!!! He then bonded with her over music. She is a drummer and they talked for a while because he is also a musician and his wife is a singer. He gave her lifetime oil changes, but I think he does that for everyone. My daughter was so happy with her car. Then we got it home and the emissions light went on. They had us bring it back right away because you can't transfer the title without an emissions test. Immediately after that, there was this odd bang. Then a few days later the AWD light came on the dash. Our mechanic has been really busy and my daughter just graduated from high school, so we were just able to get it in. We expected an expense, but nothing like what he said just now. The car is NOT SAFE to drive. We need to get rid of it. He stated that our daughter should not be in this car and never should've been driving it. He said there is no way the seller would not know this. We are not out of a car and thousands of dollars. What a slimy, underhanded, nasty place!!! Who would sell a DANGEROUS car to a child???!! Helped my daughter search for weeks for the car she wanted. She researched very well ahead of time and knew what she wanted, a Mazda 3 sedan. We looked at about a dozen of them and they were one overpriced disaster after another. She found one listed online at GIA and it was as advertised, in very good condition with low miles and at a fair price...not a "fire sale" price, but fair. She's been driving it for about 8 months now and no problems at all. It came with new $42 "Walmart special" cheapo tires which we replaced, and the engine and cabin air filters were badly clogged and needed to be replaced, and we gave it a proper synthetic oil change shortly after she bought it. Runs and drives literally like new since then. It took about 6 weeks before my daughter got her title and tags, but they did show up. These are used cars which may need some touch-up after you buy them, but as far as used car lots go, GIA is a fantastic place to start your search. Lots of good quality cars at fair prices, not a bunch of overpriced beaters like a lot of other dealers. Wish we would have gone here first and I'll be sending my other daughter there soon. read more

Sales person Mr. Vernon, I asked him repeatedly was the car good, he said yes he drove it home. When I got the car the frame ,fuel lines rusted leaking front to back ,odometer not true ( not actual miles) they had it listed as (129,000) miles said nothing of the (NAM) . OH FRAME SUPPORT BOLTS REAR BRAKES ALL RUSTED OUT. I found a car listing on cars.com posted by Georgia Import Auto. The price was better than other listings, this dealership included a free CarFax report, and the quality of the car was quite good. At first I dealt with a somewhat apathetic salesperson, but there was no pressure, so I drove the car. I liked it, and I wanted my wife to see it also. When I called back, I spoke to another salesperson, Denise. She had an entirely different attitude than the other woman; she was pleasant and helpful. My wife and I went back to drive the car, and we pointed out some flaws with the vehicle. I also wanted to have it checked out by an independent shop, and Denise allowed us a generous amount of time for this. The report was good, and we negotiated a price that was fair. Since we had dealt with Denise after my initial contact, we were concerned that the previous salesperson would get commission on a sale in which she did not participate. We wanted Denise to get the commission, since she went out of her way in every respect to help us in every way she could. When we expressed this concern, Denise told us that this woman no longer worked there. This was a good indication that Georgia Import Auto is focused on customer satisfaction. They took care of problems with the car that they could within the agreed price, and we took delivery of the car. With the exception of my first contact with Georgia Import Auto, everyone there was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. I came to GIA-Alpharetta looking for some cars I had seen on AutoTrader. I was buying my first car so my parents came to help me out. I had an appointment with Mila and when I got there, her husband Ali greeted us and helped us with what we were looking for. We looked at several different cars and when I narrowed it down to 2, he helped us pull up the CarFax and information on what the shop did for each of these cars. He told us about the dealer fee up front, and although it was fairly high, he showed us the work that was put into the car (breaks, tires, etc.), and also reminded us that I'd get free oil changes for two years with the deal they had. Ali helped us a lot, and was very understanding and worked with our price range. He encouraged me to think over the decision and if I had a couple of days, to make sure it was what I wanted and that it was a good car for me. I could tell that they were not just trying to push me into making a decision, and he was not just solely trying to make a commission. They wanted me to be happy with my decision. While getting the paperwork together he and his wife shared a little bit of their personal life with us and ended up making a list of their favorite local restaurants for my parents to try. Although I do not enjoy the experience of purchasing a car (welcome to the adult world, I guess), Ali and Mila worked with us to make it a bit easier. One week later and the car is still doing great, even after a 15 hour drive to Texas! read more

Four days after buying the minivan, on my first day of driving it on the highway the engine blew I could've died on the highway. After many months of promises and lies to fix the problem. I had to just pray on it and let it go a big waste of my hard earned money especially being a single mom. I agree with Marian A, BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! BE AWARE , DON'T BUY FROM THEM We bought a car, paid $10475.00 cash, were told to bring it back for cosmetic seats repair. I drove 44 miles and the check engine light came on. After a check engine light is reset, it takes about 50 miles before it comes on again if not fixed. That told me they just reset the check engine light before we test drove it. I called immediately and the sales man told me they will take care when I bring it back next day. I checked the georgia clean air and there was no passing emmision test on this car. IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL A CAR IN GA without current passing emission test. If we knew the car had problems we would not have bought it. We asked for our money back, which we got less 400.00+ dollars they kept for the 100 miles I drove and restocking fees !!!!!! All the salesman had to do it tell us the car is not ready come back next week and all would be well but instead he pretended to call somebody to let them know that we are buying the car to make it seem like it is in big demand. I drove 2 hours to test drive and buy a vehicle with Ga Import Auto. Drove the car for 3 miles because it was out of gas(no biggie really) and when I returned to the lot, the annoyed salesman named Greg seemed as though I was keeping him from something. When I got inside they had all this paperwork I was rushed to sign after they eagerly snatched the $5000 cash i had in my hand, I was rushed out the door. Office hours clearly state they're open until 8pm. I had questions that were blown off multiple times. I purchased the car in spite of their behavior and it was the biggest mistake I've ever made. The car had absolutely NO gas in it and I had to get a hotel room that night because the headlights were so bad I couldn't see to even drive it home the night I got it. After calling them the following day, Greg Bailey advised me to get him an estimate and I did. He told me to go ahead and have someone local to me replace the headlights and he'd make sure I was reimbursed. I sent estimate and bill and never heard anything. The replacement light still didnt allow me to see to drive at night and again, I was told to get estimate and email it to Greg Bailey again and he okayed the estimate and said I'd be reimbursed. I waited over a month and never heard a word. When I emailed Greg about it, he was on a cruise(probably with my $5k), and 20 minutes later i got a call from somebody i have no idea who and was told that they would not reimburse me for anything. I'm a single mom living with my Type1 diabetic son and work 2 jobs...this was aggravation I didnt need and money I couldn't afford to spend. Greg Bailey, I trusted that you would do as you said but that was my mistake...you're just another shady car salesman!! I'm a social media influencer and since most things are done online these days, I will use this to my advantage and deter future customers from buying anything from you and this company.
