An upgrade from the eye doctor at the Marietta location who we hoped would show the same level of care since she was part of the diaspora. Wrong. The pre-op process was ridiculously disorganized and the communication was TRASH. I had to call multiple times and physically go up there for answers that could have easily been answered over the phone. Their own staff member (not Porsha) informed me that following up isn't their ministry. When it was time to schedule the procedure, no one called to ask if the date was ok or discuss next steps. We just got an email. I called my mom to ask if she got a call back from the scheduler and she stated she had not. After a few more attempts, we were told that the date wasn't set in stone and that we would know a week before the procedure. I explained that we needed to know to bring it to our employers attention (multiple times), but they insisted that they would let us know the week before. A week later, no call; so I called Marietta Eye Clinic back. Porsha (sp) was super helpful and patient throughout this process. The communication was so poor that I had to ask if they treat everyone like this or...??? Porsha was able to finally get a supervisor on the line who walked us through all of the pre-op information. However, the date changed from the originally scheduled date to the day before; unbeknownst to us. The post-op instructions stated that my mom should avoid straining, but they failed to mention that the only medication they prescribed caused constipation. That was a whole other ordeal. Apparently, its not uncommon for medical staff to treat outpatient clients this way. However, for a procedure this expensive; I thought they would've taken more care. When its time to collect a check, their follow up is superb. Imagine that. There are other things that I could've mentioned, but this review is long enough. I'm giving them two stars - one for the eye doctor and one for Porsha, but the state of customer service and care is at an all time low. I'll update my review at the end of our experience, if anything changes.*

Well, $15,000 out of pocket and I am back to wearing glasses full time. Even worse is that prior to my surgery, I didn't need reading glasses. Now I can't even see the food on my plate when I eat! I have to wear prescription sunglasses during the day and regular glasses at night and when it's raining. The glare and halos at night make my driving scary and dangerous. I knew that with only 2 star reviews that I should have chosen another ophthalmologist but Dr. Cohen had a pretty strong sales pitch and I took the bait. Listen to the reviews and make your choice wisely. I had such high hopes of being glasses free for the firts time since i was 9 years old.

As a pretty new…read morepatient with a few visits, I received a statement for optical eye pictures taken and obviously the insurance company did not pay for. I originally contacted the office to question the balance due and learned that the insurance company did not pay, however after speaking with one of the staff members, I was told he would see if the charge could be removed and would contact me in 24 no more than 48 hours (no response). A week later, I received a notice that the balance would go to collections on a certain date, so I immediately contacted the office once again and requested to speak with the office manager (no response) specially stating . I never received a call from the first staff member and I DID not want the balance placed in collections and if that would be the result of it, I will just pay the bill regardless of what he advised me of originally. A few days later, I received a call from the same originally gentlemen, which stated after speaking with the doctors they decided to remove the charge and explained the next time if pictures are required, I would be responsible (okay fair enough). Upon receiving my mail to learn they sent the balance over to collections after stating the charge would be removed and I am highly upset due to the fact this eye centers business office staff members to do not return promised phone calls nor do they follow up within the time frame specifically stated and the worse part of this whole situation sending my account over to collection and the ONLY way I could put it is, totally deceptive on there point to the point I strongly feel I need to find another eye center, due to the lack of being totally incompetent when it involve a patient's account. At this point, I don't know who the office manager is, because I still have not received a call back from the office when this whole issue started from the very beginning, which is mind blowing when you ask to speak with an office manager regardless someone should respond (but again NO one wants to work these days). I really don't know what's wrong with the health care system these days nor some of the people employed, it honestly appears some just don't want to work, but at the end of the day expect a pay check, because clearly this should not have happen.

Restored Vision. Renewed Life. A Standard of Care the Nation Should Notice…read more In a time when true excellence in healthcare can feel rare, my experience with Charles Ho at Marietta Eye Clinic deserves national recognition. Dr. Ho performed cataract surgery on both my left and right eyes and completed a precise optical alignment procedure that has completely transformed my vision. My astigmatism has been corrected, and I now have clear, crisp distance sight--something I had gradually lost and honestly thought I might never fully regain. Today, I see the world with a level of clarity that feels nothing short of remarkable. But this story is bigger than improved eyesight. It is about trust placed in a physician--and that trust being honored with excellence. It is about precision meeting compassion. From the first consultation through recovery, Dr. Ho demonstrated not only elite surgical skill, but a level of professionalism, calm confidence, and patient-centered care that should serve as a national benchmark. In healthcare, outcomes matter--and mine exceeded every expectation. In leadership, consistency matters--and Dr. Ho delivered at every step. In service, humanity matters--and it was evident throughout my entire experience. I, William Louis Baker, do not offer this praise lightly. After decades of leadership and decision-making in high-stakes environments, I recognize excellence when I see it. Dr. Charles Ho represents the very best of modern medicine--where skill, integrity, and results come together to truly change lives. If there is a standard for what ophthalmologic care in America should look like--this is it.

I want to share my experience just in case you are considering GA Retina Specialists. During my appointment, she told me that she needed to perform a procedure on both of my eyes, which was very surprising to me. She was very cold when she said that I would have loss of vision if I didn't get it done immediately and didn't want to answer any questions. When she told me about the procedure, she made a comment that I needed to be back at noon and she was only staying that late because of me. I offered to come back the next day because she seemed upset that she had to stay and she abruptly said no and left the room. After being dilated 2x, I went home and came back again at noon. After waiting an hour, I was called back and dilated a 3rd time and then asked to sign 2 disclosures. I couldn't read the disclosures because both of my eyes had been fully dilated but I was told that I needed to sign. Upon signing, I was taken into another room to have the procedure done. While she was performing the procedure, she kept yelling at me and telling me not to move when I was being as still as I possibly could. After yelling at me, she would stop herself and then say, "I know this is hard, you're doing a great job." It was very odd and came across like she had this type of feedback before and remembered that she needed to try to be kind. After the procedure, she walked me to the front, said she needed to see me in a month and promptly disappeared. There were no post procedure instructions. I was just told to make an appointment and go home. I had no idea what to expect when I got home, nor what my eyes should feel like. I've never gotten a procedure without post procedure instructions. I shouldn't have to google what I should/should not do after a procedure. Although I didn't get kindness nor post procedure instructions from her, I did get a $1600 bill. If you are considering GA Retina Specialists, please be careful of which doctor you see. Based on their reviews, they seem to be great doctors, but I would not recommend her.

Unfortunately, that's not what I've received from Dr. Leung. Every visit feels rushed. She talks so fast, it's hard to fully grasp what she's saying--let alone ask the necessary questions about my condition. It's like she's in a race with herself. For three years, I've been given the same script with little to no effort in explaining changes (if any) in a patient-centered way. My most recent appointment sealed it for me--she rushed in, said a few words, and rushed right out. That's not how care should feel. I wouldn't recommend Georgia Retina based on my experience. Patients deserve more time, and clearer communication--especially when dealing with something as important as their vision.

I was so impressed that I planned to use Marietta Eye Clinic for all my future needs. They began emailing me last month to tell me that it was time for my annual appointment. I've tried SEVERAL times to contact them by phone to no avail. As instructed while on hold, I decided to visit the website. It is such a frustrating website to use. It is not user friendly. My prescription is for glasses and I do not want contacts. There is no heading for eyeglass exam. Only contacts. I clicked on that one hoping that it would lead me to eyeglasses. Eventually I found the eyeglass link and clicked on it and it took me back to contacts. Absolutely and utterly frustrating. This is exactly what happens when someone has too much business. You call and you cannot speak to a human even though you left your name and phone number for a call back, and the website is too frustrating to continue anymore. I'll find a new optometrist.

We saw a video and how the surgery will be performed. He explained about the healing process and how to apply eye drops and also about the restrictions after the operation. After the consultation we met with the insurance lady who explained about the insurance process and gave us some paperwork. Each person at this office was very pleasant and professional. We were very happy about this location because it's conveniently located close to our home. When it came time for the follow up visit, after the first eye operation, we were able to get an appointment for the next day after the surgery at this location with a different doctor. That was fine too. However, after the second eye surgery, our appointment at this location was cancelled. Reason was that there was no doctor available at this office. So, we had to drive far to another Woolfson office located at a very congested area in Atlanta. Again, the staff was nice. But we do not want to go back to that location because of the construction work going on nearby. The saga continues! We were able to schedule the next follow up appointment in Canton, GA. That was nice because we saw Doctor Paven Korotana who was at the Atlanta location. She was very nice and informative. Hopefully she will be at the Canton location for the next follow up visit.
