We had a great time at Georgetown Seafood. The lobster roll was a star! Staff and service were wonderful and sitting outside was the best.

Rating: 4.5 03/2025 RESTAURANT: The space is very small, but very inviting and clean. The first floor was said about 12 people and upstairs probably 8. The aesthetic stayed true to the seafood theme. Menu is small and not overwhelming. Restroom is clean on the second floor. Patio seating available. SERVICE: Despite the rainy day, the vibe was so light and positive. I'm so glad we came early because as soon as we got our seats, everybody pouring coming in. Antonio was such a ray of sunshine, make sure you go say hi. The staff behind the counter even wanted to be in my check-in photo and I appreciated that. Thanks to them, I ordered more than I intended. Antonio and the rest of the staff checked on us several times. And he even offered us some candies and held the door open as we exited the restaurant. FOOD: Been in the city for three days and I have been looking forward to this. We had fish and shrimp platter with coleslaw and fries, and of course the warm lobster roll with mayo and hushpuppies. I waited about 10 minutes and it was party time. The platter came with four shrimp and two pieces of fish. The fries were crispy, well seasoned and so good. The coleslaw was wet in its sauce, has a slight crunch and not too sweet. The shrimp were a good size if you can see the big chunk of meat within the light crispy batter. The fish were fried to a crisp and cooked perfectly. Their hush puppies were the best I've ever had! It was moist and flavorful and pieces of corn. I only wish they gave us 10 more! Now for the warm lobster roll... I probably could have eaten three. The sandwich is the size of an average hotdog bun. The bread was slightly toasted with huge chunks of lobster meat piled on top of it. It was terrific. I ate it slow as I did not want it to end. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. I read many negative feedbacks prior to visiting but I'm really glad that I checked it out for myself. It is pricey... we ordered two things and a drink plus tip and paid $75. Lobster rolls are generally not cheap and I went to restaurants near the tourist spot and a roll cost more. With seafood the price point is always going to be high and I was prepared for that. I am glad that quality and taste were on point. I think the small and homey vibe of this place makes it more appealing. Highly recommend! read more

This review is a year+ overdue. We were visiting DC this time last year and were making a stop in Georgetown for lunch and shopping. Great reviews brought us here and I am so glad they did. It's a bit of a tight squeeze inside with limited seating, but tbh it added to the experience. Nyiesha took our order and was so helpful with menu recommendations and just checking up on us while we ate. Super welcoming and attentive, it was the best service we'd experienced our whole trip. There's an upstairs with additional seating as well. My partner got the fried shrimp with fries. The shrimp was meaty and flavorful, with crispy breading that wasn't too heavy. I got the lobster roll and Nyiesha suggested the hush puppies with it. Lobster rolls are a favorite of mine and did not disappoint - warm, buttery and very filling - but the hush puppies were the highlight! Both our eyes went wide when we first tried them! This one's actually pretty solid! I got the lobster roll. It is full of meat. I got a side of potato salad that is part of the combination. My dining partner got the fish and chips. While the food is tasty, I would say that it's overpriced. I think it's going to be because of the location. However, the portions are really small and I honestly left feeling very hungry. I've had lobster rolls growing up and this one was just not nearly as filling as I would have expected. They don't have much service but they have counter service and then they bring the food to you and they do clear. But it's not like a real restaurant. More of a seafood dive place in Georgetown. Parking is on the street and you can find plenty of it. For free. Overall, I would not be in a rush to try this place again. This was an awesome find in the West End. My wife and I took our niece out to DC and we were wanting some crab cakes. We came across Georgetown Seafood and right from the start, the atmosphere was inviting and friendly. Mama greeted us and suggested some of their dishes. We ended up ordering two lump crab cakes, a warm Maine Lobster Roll and an order of fried calamari. During the entire time the service was outstanding from start to finish. Calamari was fried perfectly and seasoned well. Maine lobster was good but my favorite was the crab cakes. They were a good size and had a lot of meat. Didn't love this place - First let me say it's tiny like 2-3 tables on bottom and when you walk in they like hound you with menu, Do you wanted? What do you want to order? The shrimp was also over breaded didn't really taste like fresh shrimp. I did love the hush puppies. Cole slaw was just ok. Had a great experience here place is cute and welcoming. The service was superb and the lady working there was helpful and knowledgeable on everything from the menu. The lobster bisque had a nice buttery fresh lobster taste with great size chunks of the lobster inside for an extra fee. The hush puppies were so delicious perfectly fried but soft on the inside with bits of corn. The lobster grilled cheese was really good with a white Cheese pairing that was funky yet paired well with bringing it all together. The salmon sandwich was good decent size with each bite being nice and moist and flaky. Got a cheesecake as well which had a strawberry compote nothing too special but delectable. Coming from the Chicagoland area, our seafood is okay. Lobster rolls are either expensive with a shortage of meat or meat is on the drier side. I was pleased to find that seafood is popular in DC but you have to get away from the main touristy area to find it. This was located in Georgetown. Remember you can't take the subway here. You have to either drive, take an Uber, or take a bus. We took an Uber but I don't recommend driving there. Georgetown seafood is not a large place. You got some seating on the first floor, a couple places on the second, and al fresco. Just a note, on the second floor there is a small table and a large table for groups. Restrooms are also located on the second floor (2). We ordered a single jumbo lump crab cake (comes with French fries and coleslaw) and a Maine lobster mayo roll combo (ordered potato salad). The crab cake was perfectly cooked and moist. The crab meat was very prominent in the taste. French fries were well seasoned. Not too salty. The lobster roll you can choose either warm or chill. Size was adequate. I was shocked to see how much lobster meat was in there. Meat was fresh, moist, and warm. It's a gratifying treat for your taste buds. Prices were fair. Employees were very welcoming. You can tell they care about their customers because they asked how everything was. Highly recommended. read more

We went on a Sunday late afternoon. It wasn't busy. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of places to sit inside even though there are two floors. Their restrooms are on the second floor. They have a patio outside by the sidewalk with a couple of tables. You order the food at the register and then they give you a number. When the food is ready they bring the food to your table. We ordered a crab cake combo and a lobster roll combo. I got the fries with coleslaw. Their lobster roll has three different kinds and can be served chill or warm. My boyfriend got the Maine lobster mayo roll. The crab cake was very good and flavorful. It has a lot of crab meat inside. They give you a lot of lobster meat for the lobster roll. Everything is delicious. The staff were friendly and nice. They came back to check on us if we needed anything and asked how's the food. When we left, the staff even gave us a lollipop. My friend and I were on the hunt for a great crab cake sandwich in the DC area. Looking through Yelp we landed on Georgetown Seafood. I placed a call to see if we needed Rez and the woman who answered the phone was very polite and advised us no Rez needed for lunch and encouraged us to come on down. Walking into the restaurant we were greeted with smiles from all employees and guided through the menu. The Manager took our order and answered all our questions. Everyone working there were super friendly and made sure we were taken care of and happy with full experience. I feel like our experience at Georgetown seafood with the Manager and her staff was something the restaurant culture has lost. Now to talk about the food. The crab cake and fries were so amazing! I've heard you can't leave DC without trying a Maryland crab cake, so when we saw that that there was this seafood restaurant in the area serving crab cakes we had to give it a try. We ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, which comes with fries, "Special Sauce", and coleslaw. The fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly salted. The coleslaw was decent, but more importantly added a refreshing and salubrious serving of vegetables to the dish. But of course, the star of the show was the crab cake. The crab cake is entirely composed of large (jumbo!), tender, whole chunks of decadently stringy crab meat, coated with a light fried batter. The crab chunks tasted clean and fresh, with each precious morsel eliciting an internal moan of satisfaction. The special sauce, which kind of tasted like Cane's sauce with Old Bay, provided a welcome creaminess and additional savory complement. The crispy light breading also presents a satisfying textural contrast with the soft, succulent crab. The service was also very friendly and helpful, especially for a fast casual place. For example, we were quickly brought glasses of cold water without even asking on a hot summer day. Would definitely recommend this place for seafood if you are in Georgetown! read more

Really wish I can come back one day because the best thing about this place is they offer warm lobster rolls along with conventional cold ones. Staff is so friendly and welcoming from greeting to all the "hands off" service. They bring everything out to you from even the water which appears to be self serve. The staff keeps the tables clean and food comes out so quickly. They do serve a small selection of alcohol. Our go to is the Fish and Chips with extra Tartar/Cocktail Sauce. The portions are large with the Fish having the right amount of crisp on the outside with "flakiness" inside. The chilled Lobster roll has a good ratio of Meat to Bread which is a plus. To begin with, the staff was absolutely amazing. And the place was spic and span and super clean. We walked in and the staff was wiping down the legs of all of the barstools and chairs in the whole place. If they're this clean and particular in the front of the house you know that they're the same in the back of the house. I had a lobster roll which had more lobster than any of the other ones I had around town and for half the price. Victor was our server and extremely helpful and courteous. He came and checked on us multiple times. It was the most excellent customer service of a DC locally owned establishment I've been to. Decided to stop by this place while my son was at basketball practice. It is located on a one way street with terrible parking. Luckily I parked a few blocks away. I walked in an was immediately greeted by the young girl working. I asked for recommendations but ultimately came for the Lobster Roll and the Calamari as this is a seafood place. The calamari was delicious. If it weren't $14 bucks I would have ordered two. The Maine Lobster roll was incredibly delicious. Well season and a ton of lobster. I just wish the roll was bigger. Fries were ok. No complaints. I spent about 45-50 bucks on these two items. Food was good. Service was great. I'd totally recommend this place. read more
