I had a lot of questions and reservations about injecting stuff into my face, but he made me feel at ease. Dr. Ruff is a world figure in Plastic Surgeries and one of DC.'s top cosmetics procedures physician. At no point did I feel I was under any pressure to do anything I was incomfortable with. In fact, my impression was that the approach was go light and slow, no need to rush Important decisions. When I came to Georgetown Allure I expected the best service as the prices for their services are in the high end. IT WAS CLASS!!! HERE'S WHY 1. First, I was able to book all my appointments online (!!) by myself (!!) on an automatic system. This is something that I haven't seen in any other medical spa. 2. When booking your treatment or when browsing Georgetown Allure website, there's always a chat available with a specialist one click away. So convenient 3. On my appointment, I stepped in to be greeted by the receptionist who have perfect skin herself and the most calming smile I have ever seen. I was offered water and opted to a beautiful launch to wait for my appointments. The place is beautifully designed and worth visiting even if it was only for site seeing lol 4. The package I purchased was Botox Extender package that includes injectable and a facial (Dr. Ruff recommends to have a facial exactly two weeks after the injection, to encourage lasting results. Once you purchase your package, you are able to login to the website, see your package, see your treatments and schedule your follow up sessions by yourself!! 5. I visited Georgetown Allure at least 6 times and have mixed feelings about their spa. If you can make it past the vulture-like 'skincare consultants' to get an actual skincare treatment, you should enjoy it- the ambience is relaxing & the facials produce results. However, if you're tricked into a free skincare consultation, you'll likely find that the skincare consultants lack knowledge on commonplace products, like hyaluronic acid, or they simply don't listen at all, in their rush to tell you that your products aren't working and you need to buy their product line. While my facial was okay, Georgetown Allure Medical Spa took it upon themselves to charge me a monthly subscription, which I absolutely did not authorize. In fact, I told the owner, Adam Ohayon, that if I wanted a subscription I would call back to set it up. I never did that. I paid for ONE service that was rendered 11/23/21, only to find that they've been charging my card $150/month. After calling several times, I could not get anyone on the phone, but received a text message back in early March. I texted them back about my issue and...no response. Called again this morning, told the woman my issue, she transferred me to the owner and I was hung up on. I tried to handle this professionally and courteously, but Georgetown Allure doesn't seem to care at all about the customer experience. I called my bank this morning to dispute every monthly charge. So the facial itself was great and the facialist was also wonderful, BUT the spa's behavior left a really bad taste in my mouth for 3 reasons: 1. During the facial, I kept being asked if I wanted to add all the different add-ons -- I dont blame the facialist for this, she was probably required to do so. Once the facial ended, she asked me if I wanted to get a membership, which again, I know she is required to do, but it was jarring. 2. Once the facial ended, I tried exiting the waiting room through the door I came in, but I was re-directed to a different room, which lo and behold had a "skin specialist" and chair ready for me to be hypnotized in or some shit. She insisted I do a skin consult and I said no multiple times. She finally let me go, but said that next time I would have to pay for it -- which was super perplexing since I never wanted any of it in the first place! I was happy to just escape, since this was some Get Out shit (for those who have seen the movie). 3. Outside, trying to check out, I saw one of the worst acting performances ever. The receptionist checking me out deliberately took very long, and the "skin specialist" was back -- they both then spent 5 minutes loudly discussing some cream, saying "what consistency" "it is so moisturizing", "it is amazing", and then when this 5 minute performance was over, they asked me if I wanted to try it. By this point, I just wanted to leave, and had never been more grateful that the windows were glass. Guys, this is NOT the way to do sales and is very skeezy. The end. The facial itself was decent. However, the sales pitches were way too much. During the facial I was upsold an extra treatment, which I'm not fully sure was even done. After the facial, I was escorted into a "consultation" room where they tried to sell me over $1,000 of at-home treatment products. In addition, throughout the experience, they repeatedly tried to sell me a membership. The multiple sales pitches took away from what would have otherwise been a positive facial experience. I won't even go into this place because their staff who stand outside no matter the weather, attack you on the street offering free samples and then actually putting them on your face without permission! I actually felt assaulted in front of their store. It's one thing to politely offer a sample, but to actually touch you, put their product on your face without asking is not only rude, it could be potentially dangerous to someone who may have allergies. No means no - even when it comes to a sample of their product. They don't seem to want to take no for an answer. Touching my face with their product made me extremely uncomfortable, not to mention that whatever they put on my eyes made my face tight and very unpleasant! And I said NO !! I work in Georgetown and now I avoid this section of M Street altogether. This is NO way to go about getting a client. My husband wanted to call the police. Take note! I've been eyeing this spa for a couple years. I had a hunch that it was overpriced and more sales oriented than other salons. Regardless, I did give it a shot. I can confirm that the salon was both completely overpriced for their services as well as very much sales oriented. I decided to splurge on a high priced facial. In my experience, high priced facials are normally longer than an hour (anywhere from an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half). My facial was an hour and that was including an add-on service. That hour also included a few minutes to and then dress back up at the end. Everything felt a little bit rushed, from the steam, to the massage, to the main facial. After the facial you were then escorted into another room with a "skin specialist" and were introduced to lots of expensive products, along with their membership. The membership is $150 per month, which comes with one facial and one add-on service. I still can't believe how much I paid for that facial!!!! It's going to take me a while to come to terms with it. There are lots of great options in the Georgetown area and I would recommend you go elsewhere. read more

What top notch service from when you arrive to when you leave! I visited Georgetown Allure for a facial on a Saturday afternoon. The Spa is in a great location -- right off the hustle and bustle of M street. But as soon as you arrive, you're ushered into a quieter, serene place that seems miles away from the people of Georgetown. I was greeted and brought back to a smaller waiting room, where I filled out your typical information and sipped on water they offered. Tina, who was doing my facial, came out exactly on time and brought me to a clean, spacious room. We discussed my feelings around my skin as well as what had happened recently for my skin (I had gotten burned the previous week on vacation). She recommended a rejuvenating treatment that would repair my skin. The next hour was incredibly relaxing as Tina helped brighten and rejuvenate my face. She let me take the initiative to whether talk or almost fall asleep (I chose the latter). Overall, the experience was fantastic from start to finish. When I left, my face looked almost like I had put makeup on (although obviously I had none) because it was so fresh and dewy. I would recommend Georgetown Allure! read more

I just visited this spa and this was my second time to have facial treatment. I met with staff at the spa and she was really pleasant. Then I met with my aesthetician Jhovonnah . She is a super nice lady,and her room was really relaxing and inviting- I received facial lifting with micro current, red light, led light and much more. Every single step performed on my skin was clearly explained. I liked her honest recommendations and I truly enjoyed my visit and looking forward for my next appointment. It was my first time trying the spa. I got a facial. My skin is so soft now! I got microdermabrasion, which I've never had before, but it felt great. I loved the fragrant oils and shoulder massage. Very disappointed. My wife and I showed up 15 minutes early (5:45 pm) for appointment (both of us) at 6pm. We spoke with a gentleman about products and services while waiting for the facial beds to be available. At 6:15pm the two people on the beds were done. I looked at the gentleman and he said no worries we had time so we continued continued conversation. Then another man (Josh) brought another woman and put her on bed for facial. I asked what was going on....we were now at 6:20 and we had a 6pm appt. Josh said sorry he thought we were busy.....we took off work early and rearranged schedules to be there.  We patiently waited and then Josh put someone ahead of us....ruining our evening. When I went to the appointment they charged me another $115 and said I was lucky that I still got the promotional deal. They had a promotion on a hydrafacial but since I have had more than once, that was most definitely not THE hydra facial (and there is only one, it is TM). Also, service was terrible everyone working there is clueless including the Esthetician, could not even tell me what she was putting on my face during the facial! The woman doing a skin consultation was not even an esthetician so no idea how you can do that without being licensed. Shocked this place had good reviews, and doubt there is a doctor running this medical spa. If so, he/she is just signing paperwork. Go to another medical spa instead, plenty in the DMV area! I appreciated the services but upon interacting with the aesthetician, I found myself put off by his commentary and customer service. For example, an innocuous comment about where I live was appropriate but then he began making comparisons between my rent and his to the point it felt that he was talking down to me. On several occasions during the treatment, he offered unsolicited comments regarding how much money he makes and implied that it was substantially more than me. Comments offered about my skin and skin care routine were untactful and just disrespectful- there is a way to provide service and customer instructions without talking down to the client. My boyfriend had a different aesthetician but an all-around similar experience. While I am in the market for the services, I would go elsewhere as I didn't appreciate the way the Allure staff was so rude and belittling. read more

After reading the reviews for what felt like every single spa in the DMV, I decided to go get a standard facial with microdermabrasion at Georgetown Allure. I was incredibly disappointed. My esthetician was very nice, and maybe it was my fault for expecting more of a spa experience...but I just felt like I was at the dentist. The facial didn't include any kind of relaxation. Zero massage (not even on my face!), no robe, no spa experience. I even kept my shoes on. The facial was just her putting things on my face and wiping them off immediately after. She didn't explain what she was doing either, so I have no idea what products were used or what the purpose was. I could have washed my face and put on a mask myself and gotten exactly the same experience. Multiple times through the facial, the esthetician got on her computer to google things or look at her calendar, and at one point she left the room entirely for over 5 minutes. It was very awkward. When it came time to do the microdermabrasion, my esthetician said she didn't want to do it because my skin already looked inflamed. That's fine! I like an esthetician who knows their stuff. Instead she said she'd do an infrared treatment. She put the infrared treatment light around my face (it's done a few inches at a time) for literally less than a minute, maybe 40 seconds. She missed big sections of my face including most of my forehead. When I left I wasn't relaxed at all and my skin looked exactly the same as it did when I went in. Perhaps this medical spa is great for interventions like botox, but if you're looking for a spa experience, I'd definitely recommend going somewhere else, or just taking your $180 to sephora. While the women who did my facial was nice and I'm sure did it the way they told her to it was not worth the price. It was barely a facial. The front desk was rude and the "owner" creates a salesman environment as opposed to a health spa. They also did not follow any type of hygiene especially considering Covid. The owner touched my face when she treated me and then in the room there was no hand washing. Not even after the employee drank her coffee put her mask back on and then touched my face. Yes Covid restrictions are lifted but you're touching peoples faces. At least wash your hands. read more
