I called and made an appointment, but when I called back to confirm the appointment and the address, I got an answering machine that was full and not taking messages. I have called repeatedly for the past three weeks with the same results. All of the reviews are years old. George did a fantastic job on my new suit. He turned 38" waist pants into a 34" in waist and you'd never be able to tell. He even had me come in for a 2nd fitting after the initial alterations so he could could make the final changes. I also had hit him tailor 4 dress shirts. This guy knows his stuff. I went to George's Tailoring to have a Santa and Mrs. Claus costume fitted. I was very impressed the first time I came in to inquire about the alterations. He and his wife were very lovely and nice to deal with. There were several photos displayed of celebrities who have come to George for alterations. When we dropped the costumes off, George was very thorough, quick and efficient doing the fittings. He defintely knows what he is doing. The costumes fit like a glove, and his work is excellent. George saved NYE for me. As I tried on my dress, hours before the big event, my zipper broke and I became trapped. After I made my escape, we took the dress to George. I took a suit and a pair of wool slacks to George for tailoring after I lost some weight. The suit was always a bit big on me even before the 25 lb weight loss (Mens Wearhouse tailoring seems to go baggy old-man style) but George re-cut it to fit my frame perfectly and modernize the cut, which was a lot of work given how large it was on me. I am basing this review off of my experience with George rather than the tailoring (I haven't picked up my items yet). I brought in a romper and a pop up tent bag yesterday after reading his Yelp reviews. Both items need the zippers repaired. I am going on vacation tomorrow morning, and George has said the romper will be done today and the tent bag will be ready when I get home. He was very nice and explained my options. The shop is very clean and organized. The best part is that I called the tailor I normally go to, to check prices and George's prices were much more affordable. I wear a suit for work and buy high quality suits that never fit my dimensions very well so it is always an adventure to get them to fit correctly. After using a local tailor in Yuba City who nearly ruined my brand new suit , I searched for someone else and ended up giving George a try. Not only was he able to undo the damage to my suit, he made so many improvements to my fit. We are not just talking about a hem or shortening a sleeve, I don't think there is anything he can't do, he was able to shorten my coat, and take a some extra room out of the middle section of my slacks. Now he has tailored 5 suits for me including the one I bought for my daughter's wedding. Now that I have had such success, I have referred others to him with confidence. I cant thank this place enough!!!!! I have always had a hard time finding swimsuits that fit so I held on to my one trusty swimsuit much longer than I should have. When it came time to go on my honeymoon I took out old trusty and realized there was no way I could in good conscience wear that thing again. I searched high and low for a new bathing suit and couldnt find anything. Yes, it was November so I was at a bit of a disadvantage as to the season...I digress. Anyway, as a last resort I stopped in to George's on a Saturday (I was leaving for the honeymoon the following Wednesday) to ask about the possibility of recreating old trusty with new fabric. Not only did George say it was possible but he also said it would be done by Tuesday!!!! I couldnt believe it. Now the best part...he quoted me a price that was so phenomenal I actually said it was too low and offered him $20 extra for the time rush. Even with the cost of fabric the suit cost less than the original old trusty! I was so happy when I got the suit back (on Monday!!) it was perfect. I highly recommend this place.
