If you live in Lincoln and need your car maintained or fixed I cannot recommend George's Friendly more highly. I moved to Lincoln about seven months ago and consider finding a good mechanic among the most difficult things to deal with. Very helpful, efficient, honest, and went out of their way to call my car's dealership and found out my issue was covered by the dealership. George's charged me only for the analytics, 50% discounted, and advised me that except for door latch mechanism, my car was in tip top shape. I paid up front for my ignition switch in my 2001 Toyota Sienna to get done and then they called me and said they did not have the proper equipment to finish it. They altered my invoice, added an extra charge that was not approved and refused to give me my key until I paid it.i had to tow my van from this shop to a dealership and have Toyota deAler do the work. I would NEVER trust these people ! Claim has been filed with California automotive bureau and the better business bureau. There was No denying any further diagnostics, they said they didn't know they needed to code my key to the van! Wow. Thought today was going to be days and hundreds of dollars of repairs to my 2017 BMW, that was suddenly making serious noise up front. But George's Friendly Auto got me in on the same day! Once the present issue was completed the next problem showed up. When all was said and done my car run's great. They did not cause or charge me for any labor that was potentially stacked by solving the problem then going back to search out the next. Took my 72 El Camino to have my new Edelbrock carb adjusted and timing checked. First, car was to be worked on at 7:30 and didn't get a mechanic until 9:30+. Second, my intake manifold had been bead blasted and without stains. My intake manifold now has gas stains, gaskets on carb are leaking as well as pump. Once again, my carb is new, two months, and had no leaks prior. Returned to George's and lead mechanic says they did nothing to cause the NEW problem and it just happened by coincidence! This is the best auto service we have ever received, we had just moved to Lincoln and our air conditioner went out in our 2003 ford excursion. We didn't know where to go so we googled some places in our area, this was the second place on the list and we chose right! We called and were answered quickly and were met with excellent customer service! Not only were all the people there so friendly, but they were all highly knowledgeable, and answered any questions we had. They gave us an appointment the next day and looked at it, within an hour they knew what needed to be done, they ordered the parts and installed it the same day! We only had one car at the time so one of the mechanics gave us a ride home, very kind, got to know a bit about him, and made it home safe and sound! Husband was quoted around $950 for repairs. That was about what we expected, so he said go ahead. Went to pick the car up and the charge was over $1400. Apparently when they called husband at work with the estimate they asked if they should "do the whole job", but did not state that the car also needed a new power steering pump which was not included in the initial estimate. Since it was all done over the phone, we have no recourse. Then, their credit card machine wasn't working so they wanted to take a copy of driver's license and credit card so they could run the card when the machine was back up in a few days. This screams of identity theft and I wasn't having any of that, but husband wanted his car back and they wouldn't release it without guaranteed payment. The people seem friendly enough, but after reading other reviews, it seems that we're not the only ones with issues regarding their business practices, and we won't be returning. Husband has already torn off the license plate frames they put on his car as advertising. read more
