I have a deathly fear of dentist. Was drilled as a child while strapped to a chair and given no numbing agent. So needless to say, the sound of a drill or smell of a dental office is unsettlinf for me. Or was. Thanks to this office my 30 yr old self doesnt resort back to a 5 yr old scared child. The service is great. The front desk help Carmen is polite, professional and friendly. The parking is plenty. I would say this place has a clear understanding of the insurances to expecrt, the work to be done, and they treat you like a good family member. So I should start this reveiw by saying that I have a HUGE fear of the denstis. Have for years which is why I have so much work that needs to be done. I was referred to Dr. Tashiro by a coworker. My inital consultation I was nervious and felt a little ashamed that I had waited so long to see a dentist. Not once did Dr. Tashiro or any of the other staff make me feel bad. Dr Tashrio even said that his goal was to get my teeth healthy and keep me comfortable so that I continue to return. We went over the extensive amount of work that needed to be done and priortaized them together. He asked what I was most concerned with, and he actively listened. I just had my second visit and spent a few hours there. Dr Tashiro was very meticulous in the work that he did. He made sure I was completly numb and when he knew I would feel vibration or any different sensation he made sure to tell me. He explained the process well so I never felt like I didnt know what was going on. After the visit I got sick (which i found out was due to a stomach virus that my son and his father both had) and both him and the office manager Carmen offered to drive me home to make sure that I got home safe. I look forward to continuing my dental treatment with Dr Tashiro and will make updates with my visits. read more

Dr. Tashiro and his staff are really great. They're all really friendly and make going to the dentist a better experience than one usually thinks of when it comes to getting your mouth poked at. I feel comforted and reassured when I get confirmation I haven't been taking as good care of my teeth as I should have, and I get great advice and explanations on what to do or what procedures I may/will need in the future. I also have gotten interesting information from them about other treatments like strengthening topical creams, etc. It's nice to hear about recent innovations and options beyond the boring typical brush, floss, filling talk. I have to get a cavity fixed soon (i'm so disappointed in myself), but I'm comforted that I'll be in good hands. read more

Dr. Tashiro is caring (good bedside manner) and honest. I've had a lot of work done at his office, and there were a couple instances when he could have insisted that he work on my teeth (so he could profit). But, for Dr. Tashiro, it's obvious that patient care comes first, so he appropriately referred me to specialists whom he felt could better treat my problems. I really appreciate that. I was also self-conscious and uncomfortable with the state of teeth, but he never made me feel bad about it-- that trait is very important to me. His staff is awesome. They're friendly, organized, very helpful. Carmen and Shelley makes the insurance and payments process very easy (for example, Carmen looked up the insurance phone # for me as opposed to an office manager at another dental office who didn't offer and waited while I fumbled around looking for it). Lindsey has been great with cleaning and helped me feel at ease when I found out I had to get braces. Som (the dental assistant) is gentle, calm, and has good bedside manner as well. It had been awhile since I had seen the dentist, and I'm so glad that when I finally did, it was with Dr. Tashiro. Thumbs up! read more

*EXPIERIENCED* CLEAN OFFICE * FRIENDLY * Dr. Tashiro is a great dentist with lots of experience! (About 30 years) Recently my younger sister went in for a small filling and did it pretty fast followed by a root canal, and so far so good! He did local anesthesia and made sure she was comfortable and ready for the shot. (Makes me believe he would be great with young children.) We went in for a filling, but also noticed a problem developing in her X-ray that her previous dentist either ignored or missed, which needed a root canal! So she went in a couple weeks later and that went smooth as well. My sister will need to get her teeth straightened so it was nice to find out that his office offers all sorts of services including Invisaline, as well as implants, and even teeth whitening. The website is great too, it has all the info a new patient needs to know. Such as all the services he provides, insurance accepted, payment plans, before and after photos, explanation of procedures, how to keep your teeth healthy, and other useful info. read more

Been seeing Dr. Tashiro for a little over a year now. I waited to write this review since I don't usually stick with a physician or service for more than 3 months. But Dr Tashiro and staff has made me feel very welcome and taken great care of me. Believe me I needed work done. The office is extremely clean. Staff is friendly- Som, Carmen and Lindsey (hygienist) these ladies are the best. Dr Tashiro himself will put you at ease once you are on that scary dentist chair. He will explain every procedure and treatment in great depth. Answer any nervous questions you may have. I woke up in even worse pain than ever before since this whole entire week of discomfort caused by my lower left wisdom tooth. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of my wisdom's tooth growing sideways, I was referred to a surgeon who could do the extraction next week ! I met Dr. Tashiro, Carmen, and Som today & they have been nothing but helpful and kind. He prescribed some pain killers until then. Other than that, Dr. Tashiro is easy to talk to and really cares about your well being. I decided to come in to his office because 1)they were the only ones open at 8am 2)high ratings on yelp. I have to make him my new dentist because of his kindness & his helpful caring staff. Plus it beats driving to Rancho Cucamonga to see my other dentist. I am happy with the professionalism and friendliness of Dr. Tashiro and his amazing staff! It took me years to finally find a great dentist. I've been in Long Beach for almost nine years and been through many dentists. I took a chance with Dr. Tashiro and it paid off. I've been a client for under a year, and had numerous work done (fillings replaced, cavities filled, and two front crowns replaced). My goal was to find a dentist that is professional, relatable, and excellent at his craft. I had my two front crowns for 20 years and finally had them replaced. I am particuliar (to say the least) and Dr. Tashiro was patient, kind, and made me have the best smile possible! Even with my doubt of color matching of the front teeth, he allowed me to go directly to the lab and continue until I WAS SATISFIED! He made sure I was happy with the final product (my two front teeth). Bottom-line; happy and glad to have him as my dentist/artist. Lastly, I want to make sure to give credit to Carmen (office manager), she made each billing experience manageable. I always had every dollar accounted for so I could use my insurance to the last penny! Som, thee (RDA) is awesome. She listened to my crazy stories and always made sure I was comforatble with all procedures. Her input during my crown process was reassuring! Lindsey (hygienist) was my first initiation to the offce, as it was three years since I had seen or found a dentist that qualified for my picky standards. She is thorough and kind. I have been coming to this office for ten years and have been very happy with the service and friendly staff. Dr. Tashiro is very thorough and runs an honest practice. I have been very surprised by how gentle he is. I have always had a great experience here. The front office is very easy to work with and flexible. I signed up for yelp just so that i could share my great experience with this Dentist. This is my first review, so I appologize for mispelled words or gramatical errors. I have major anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I avoid it all cost. However, I had what seemed like a possible cavity. I was reccomended to Dr. Tashiro from my friend. Although I live in Irvine, I traveled to him because she said he was great. Well she was right! As soon as I sat in the chair, my anxiety was eased. Dr. Tashiro was so gentle. He reminded me to take long cleansing breaths. And even though he warned me that I would feel "a little pinch" with the needle, I didn't even feel it. His hands were incredibly steady. It made me feel comfortable knowing he has been practicing dentistry for a long time. His staff was excellent as well. He worked seemlesly with his dental assistant and the receptionists were incredibly professional and accomodating. The office was clean and I really like that he has a digital xray machine. Recently had to have a cavity filled which required a shot to numb the tooth. I'm not the biggest fan of needles, and felt very uneasy about getting a shot in my gums. However, all of my anxiety was for nothing. Dr. Tashiro first numbed my gums with a topical treatment, and let it soak in a good ten minutes or so. When it was time for the dreaded shot, I didn't even feel it! Not one bit. Dr. Tashiro had numbed my gums so well, I felt no pain what so ever. After receiving the shot, we waited another 15 minutes or so to let the medicine really work, then got down to business. Within 20 minutes my cavity was filled, and I was on my way with my day, pain free! Cavities are not pleasant, but Dr. Tashiro and his team made it a pain free experience, which is what is most important! And a big thank you to Carmen for reminding me about my appointment and getting me scheduled for the next one!
