Choosing a dentist is a big deal for me. The relationship between a patient and a dentist is intimate. After years going to a large practice where the dentist himself rarely attended to me, I wanted a dentist who was competent and hands-on. I started seeing Dr. Tang a few years ago. It's a small operation - the doctor, a receptionist, and a dental hygienist. I waited to review the practice until after I had experienced more than routine cleanings and X-rays, which have always been quick, thorough, and professional. Remarkably, Dr. Tang sometimes does cleaning himself. This shows me that he's mindful of his staff's schedules and he's not above doing the grunt work. I appreciate a business owner who knows how to do everything and pitches in to take care of business. Recently a crown cracked and needed replacement. Scheduling an appointment was fast. For the first time, after five crowns, the temporary one Dr. Tang made stayed in place while the new one was being fabricated. Fitting of the new crown was flawless. He even repaired the underlying tooth so that the new crown would work better than the old one. Other reviewers have complained about nobody's answering the phone when they call. This doesn't warrant a one-star review. In this small office, everybody is helping out and sometimes that calls them away from the desk. Anyway, who calls today? Text them like a normal person; they reply fast. Parking is a valid concern. Street parking is usually available in my experience, but if it it's not, there is a parking lot out back. But, hey, at least it's free! My last dentist's parking was $20/hr. without validation. In my entire life I've never had the luxury of a dentist that seriously cares about how perfectly you feel & look after he is finished creating dentures that every tooth is excellently matched to your own natural teeth. Dr Tang is a graduate of UCLA. My upper denture fits in my mouth so comfortably without any denture adhesive at all! I haven't had to take them our of my mouth since leaving his ofc 2 days! I had my first appointment with Dr. Tang's office today and I was very pleased with the care I received. Dr. Tang and his assistant were professional and they made me feel welcomed and very comfortable throughout my entire visit. After many dental visits, I finally found the best dentist in LA County!!! Dr. Daniel Tang is so thorough with his examination and really cares for your wellbeing. He listens to your concerns and tries his best to solve any issues. He was able to fix one of my teeth by replacing the filling that another dentist screwed up on. Just like another review, Dr. Tang was behind the front desk when I arrived. He promptly explained that his receptionist was out and he was running a little behind. Had to finish a brief questionnaire for new patients which took me less than 5 minutes. After an average amount of waiting (~15 mins) I was escorted to an examination room where a somewhat extensive series of x-rays occurred. Then I waited in a comfortable chair for what seemed like 30 minutes, though I was glad I had better cellphone reception there. Eventually Dr. Tang arrived to complete a speedy-yet thorough cleaning. He was great about explaining what he was doing as well as offering some information about one of his special tools. Once he was finished Dr. Tang answered all of the questions that I had to ask and sent me on my way with all the usually teeth cleaning goodies. Thanks Doc! The first time we went to Dr. Tang was for an emergency situation. My son's wisdom tooth was extremely painful and Dr. Tang called me back promptly and was able to get my son in that day. A Saturday! He extracted the tooth for a very reasonable price (my son had no insurance) and followed up to check on his progress. If you have anxiety about going to the dentist, or have had bad experiences in the past I can honestly recommend Dr. Tang as the dentist to re-introduce you to proper oral hygiene and what a GOOD experience should be like. Not only is he SO gentle, well spoken, and absolutely attentive to your state when you're in his chair, but he got my teeth cleaned without it hurting. Dr. Tang constantly checked in on me to see if I was okay, and he kept reassuring me throughout the process. There was not a single thing he did without first letting me know or walking me through it, and I can say with 100% confidence that he seriously cares about the people that come to see him because it shows in his interactions. The prices he charges are also very reasonable and economical, so there's really no reason not to go give it a shot if you need a new dentist or want to shop around. He won't sell you on anything or recommend procedures he doesn't think you actually need or could benefit from. And this was one of the biggest things for me since in the past I've had other dentists try to push more on me than was actually needed for my teeth. The entrance to the office is on the right hand side of the building. I bring my mom to see Dr. Tang. He is very nice and his voice is very soothing, I kid you not. A plus for me is that he can speak mandarin and use the necessary terms to talk with my mom. As for the office, it has what is needed for general dentistry. Although it is not technologically updated as some other offices, I have no reservations in recommending coming here. Went today for an extraction. Arrived about 5 minutes early for a 1:30pm appointment and Dr. Tang himself greeted me with a smile and escorted me to the room. As he and his DA prepped me, he asked me a series of questions before beginning. Dr. Tang then injected anesthesia for numbing, and within 8 minutes that tooth was out! Wtf! Quick and efficient. I was back home and resting within 30 minutes. Also, what I appreciate about his receptionist Laura is that she'll give you a pretty accurate estimate of what you'll owe at the end of your visit. I was so impressed with how Dr Daniel Tang has figured out how to safely take care of dental needs during a time when I wasn't sure if I should risk it at this time(Covid-19)! He is very on top of his communications, is kind, flexible and left it up to me whether I was comfortable coming in. He has his lobby seat spaced far apart, his hygienist was so thorough and gentle wearing a mask and a clear shield and did a detailed job with my teeth cleaning, and he came in a respirator and face shield which made me feel super safe.
