RUN. If I could describe this place in one word, it would be predatory. I came here using my Delta PPO insurance expecting professional and honest service. Instead, from the moment I walked in, the front office staff had poor attitudes and made the experience uncomfortable. Almost immediately, they began pushing a 3-D imaging service and asked me to sign a consent form. Be cautious you do not have to agree to additional imaging if you are not comfortable. I was told I had multiple cavities. That alone shocked me.. After spending nearly four hours there, they claimed I needed a $500 deep cleaning and an additional $2,000 worth of dental work. What made things worse, I brought my daughter with me. Her teeth are in great condition, yet they attempted to charge for a routine cleaning even with my PPO. She only had X-rays and the 3-D imaging. I had to specifically request a routine cleaning for her, for a routine visit. They were taking so long. We didn't even get it. Some of the staff was outside drinking a coffee while we were waiting. Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion with another dentist using the same Delta PPO insurance. The second office found ZEROcavities, and my co-pay was only $100 for deep cleaning . They confirmed I did not need the extensive work that was recommended. That was extremely concerning. Even after spending hours there, nothing was actually done besides imaging, and I left feeling misled and pressured. They definitely overbuild. I agree with all the reviews that state that. They ended up charging me $60 for this visit and literally only did imaging. I do not recommend booking an appointment here. Please consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major treatment plans. Also be prepared to wait, and poor customer service. Unacceptable. read more

I went to see my dentist Christian P. Got dental and 2 cavities taken care off. He double check if I wanted to get them done at the same time since is one on each side, since my whole face was gonna be numb. I said that's fine with me, I rather get things like this done at the same time and go through it once. He numb my face, then the dental assistant did my cleaning. Honestly, she was rough, felt inexperienced (she would straight up sucked my tongue or inside cheeks and I can't talk due to being numb) and keep saying "mmm" for what I thought she wanted to open my mouth more. I still don't know LOL, 2/5 for her. The other lady that took care of me before was excellent, great communication and she would tell me what to expect when doing things. The whole process was way better with the other assistant I had experienced. Dr. Christian was great doing the fillers. I am comparing him to my previous one and before it was driving a kia, Dr. C was like a Mercedes Benz. They look great, I been using a better tooth paste and a remineralizing wash that strengthens the teeth, he noticed a difference. Very happy with the outcome. He is very professional and listens well to concerns. He gives his personal opinion and takes the time to educate his patients. I finally found someone who is caring and honest. I've been coming here on and off for the past few years. I usually see Dr. Mark or Dr. Christian Papadopoulos (they are brothers and their dad works there too). They are both very kind, honest, patient, thorough, caring, and detailed. I can tell they genuinely care about their patients and aren't just in it for the money. I used to have dental insurance and now I don't. I went there recently without dental insurance and I felt they weren't trying to rip me off or anything. I highly recommend this dentist office and especially if you're a nervous dental patient like me. Ask to see either of the two brothers. They will make you feel at ease. The front office staff is also very friendly and helpful. There's also a dental assistant there that I really like but I didn't get her name. She's also patient and calming. I have an appointment next week actually so if she's there I'll get her name and add her to my review. read more

This review is for dental hygienist Yesenia. I have major dentist phobia, and came in for an emergency extraction and then an implant. Both appointments were terrifying and she helped me through. She would remind me to breathe and rubbed my earlobe to distract me enough to relax. Yesenia was so helpful in making these stressful appointments less scary. Dr. Papadopoulos and his assistant were great! I went in for multiple cleanings which lead to a wisdom tooth extraction. The extraction was painless, no gas used (only local anesthetic) - that was actually preferred by me. No pain, little bleeding, no infection. Some soreness a few days post but was able to recover very quickly. I would recommend him and his practice. Facility is clean, exams are quick but detailed. beware this dentist office over-bills !!! - they do not honor insurance rates and they know this so they try to hide it by not giving eob/ invoice /receipts for payment ( only a tiny slip from a machine that says no info about what you were charged & paid for! then if you dare to question their over billing - they ban you as a customer - told us they " lost our file" so we couldn't make appt after 20 yrs as patients - after we questioned this they said they banned us as patients for making inquiry on billing - unethical !! terrible unprofessional front desk customer service ( rude unhelpful). read more

Preface: I went to different dentist in Long Beach (LB Smiles) about a month ago, and they essentially refused to clean my teeth because they insisted on a "deep clean" that wasn't covered by my insurance and would cost over $700, but not before making me wait 30 min beyond my appt time. My wife was there for FOUR HOURS once just for a teeth cleaning. Left a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively and literally since they didn't service me at all. Having grown up with a dentist for a grandfather, I know what to, and what not to expect from a reasonable doctor. At Long Beach Dental Group, they were ready for me before I even finished filling out the patient forms. The assistant or hygeinist (not sure which or the difference) Veronica was very friendly and made me feel welcome, as was the dentist who saw me, Dr. Mark. His chair-side manner was calm and collected, and not overly verbose (which I prefer, considering I can't converse with dental tools in my mouth). The whole staff was friendly, thorough, and everyone answered any questions I had with directness so it didn't feel like I was trying to solve riddles. The overall vibe of the place was a big relief to me; there was a hominess and realness to the place that I really appreciated, especially compared to the glossy fake-nice front put up by some newer dentist offices before they nickel and dime you for every little action they take. I might have a biased preference for dental practices that resemble my grandpa's before he retired, but regardless, I'd happily recommend Long Beach Dental Group to anyone in the area. read more

I was a patient at LB dental for about 27 years, except for 1 month when I checked out Marina Smiles because I could walk there. LB Dental was fine. I saw Dr. DiLoreto, Dr. Sollitt, Dr. Shapiro. No issues. But then I was transferred to Dr. Tran. I have a dental HMO, which might have been an irritant. Whatever it was, I ended up having to seek a new dental office. Sorry I never got to have Dr. P. as my dentist. Never met him. If you are assigned to Dr. Tran, I hope that your experience is better than mine was. read more

I just went to this place to get a crown. I was asked for my insurance and my copayment was 1,175 and the insurance will pay 2,000. a crown with any other Doctor without insurance is 700 dollars. this dental office on 659 redondo ave is ripping of patients and insurance companies. please don't allow them to keep doing this. they are a bunch of thugs. read more

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS!! This facility does an alright job at the dental work, but BEWARE on your payments, my husband was paying for services which was about $180 , when he slid his card the payment was was declined for insufficient funds, I transferred the money to the account the charge was ran again and it went through. The next day when I check the account the account was overdrawn because LB dental took the money from the insufficient amount $123. I called and asked how could they have taken both charges when it was told to my husband it was declined. I was told they would look into it and get back to me as soon as possible. The next day I called back in the afternoon to find out the status. They did confirm the extra charge was a mistake but was unsure on how to refund the money. I called back several times over a couple of weeks and the last called I was ensured that a check would be sent out refunding the money. That was over 30 days ago!!!! I will be initiating a Small Claims if I don't receive my money by the end of the week. read more

Long Beach Dental group provides high quality of care and service. They're just south of 7th and Redondo and there is on site parking. It is very clean and up to date, using the latest equipment.
