Stumbled across this little gem of a store the day before Easter. I was looking for a little something to get my little one (Madison - my 2.4lb Chihuahua sidekick) to put in her Easter basket. This store had EVERYTHING! I ended up buying several types of treats and toys and Madison just loved all of them... Next visit, they had moved so I took Madison with me and we went into the new location and she was greeted by the coolest people that gave her samples of yummy treats and they all just loved her and were so friendly to both of us that it has become my "Go To Pet Shop"... and what makes it even better is that they are only a block away from our house. Just got some great food for Madison there as well and she loves it.... Check out the ORIJEN line. Very good! Wonderful selection of pet foods and treats. They have scrappy here and my dog goes nuts for the grass fed beef. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. I love stopping in and grabbing Ziggy's treats here. Mostly Bc they have a high quality selection. If you are in the area stop by and check it out!! read more

Have been there several times, nice shop, good products but the services wasn't quite nice. Maybe it just the way she talks, I still can't help to have that sloppy feeling of the shop lady though. The first bad feeling experience was one time she charged me more by mistake and trying to give me the difference back. She told me that she doesn't do penny with some sore of a strong tone, so she gave me back $1.25 than $1.26 which is totally fine with me. But when she rang up my purchase afterward, she asked me if I have a penny to pay her for my $3.91 purchase....And I really don't mind, but not after she said out loud a minute before about "I don't do penny". Today I went again to ask for any chewing thing I can buy for my cat. She said depends on the cat, but also suggests me to give him lots of toys, and I already have a lot at home. So then I said let's try the chewing treat, then she goes " ya, it's only fifty cents". I was wondering why she had that comment. Maybe I'm not spending enough to deserve some nicer services or attention. I know this is a rich ppl neighbor, but is that kind of attitude I get if I don't spend enough?! I'm in a customers services too, and I think all customers should get good services no matter how much they spend, at least not being rule. I had got all the treats for my cat and dog there, but i don't think I would be interested to come here again. I rather support other local friendly pet shops. read more

My shiba inu received an beautiful collar as a gift for her birthday but it was a bit too tight so I decided to exchange it for the next size up. I arrived at the store and explained to Rafael that I received the collar as a gift and would like to exchange it for the next size up. He was more than happy to assist me and directed me to where the collars were. All the collars were large and they did not have anything in stock so he suggested to order the next size for me. I waited couple weeks and received a call that the collar was at the store.   It was then we both realized that the next size up was 16inch which I saw couple weeks ago at the store. The width of the 16inch was very thick and bulky(perfect for a Labrador size). I debated to exchange the collar for something else in the store but since it was a gift, I wanted to see if the large size collar would somehow work on my shiba inu. The collar looked awkward on my dog so I decided to bring it back and that was the first time I met "Deborah." Deborah explained to me that all the collars at the store are either the size I originally received or the thick 16inch I brought back. I found a cute daisy harness and tried it on my dog.(yes, I brought my dog this time) Deborah came over and suggested that we do a special order for her since the medium harness looked roomy on her. My dog is very shy and skittish so Deborah thought it was best not to measure her. She suggested to take off 6 inches from the medium harness and told me it would take 4 weeks to make. I called about 5 weeks later to see what the progress was and Rafael told me he would call me back. No call, waited next week and called again...he apologized for not returning the call and told me he would call me back. He texted me later that day... Hi It's Rafael from George. The owner had to light a fire under the sewers butts and is having them prioritize your harness! I know you mentioned your leaving town on the 18th the owner assured me he'd have it before then! Even if he has to bring it to you himself! Sorry for the huge delay  After couple texts, he said the harness would be dropped off to me that Monday but I never received any calls. I texted Rafael on Monday night to let him know I can get the harness when I come back from my vacation (i was leaving on Wednesday). He texted me back and said he can drop it off to my work on Tuesday morning and that's what he did.  When I took a look at the harness, I already knew it was too small for my dog. It was a jack Russell sized harness. I called the Berkeley location  and left a message for the owner. Never received a call so I called the sf location. Deborah answered and basically told me that they don't carry anything that works for me and she will give me a refund after I return from my trip.  Few weeks later, I went in to return the harness. She tried to show me how to enlarge the harness and noticed it was already at the max and it was obviously way too small for a shiba inu. All she said was that she doesn't know what happened there and gave me a rude attitude the entire time. I explained to her I was unhappy about her service the whole entire time and she told me "they don't usually do refunds but she's doing this since she doesn't want me to shop there anymore." First of all, I don't shop there and I only went there because I got the collar as a gift. That store is a rip off and you can get the same products cheaper at pet food express or stores on Geary st. I called the Berkeley location and left a message again for the owner. The employee told me he would get off the phone in 20-30mins. I waited a hour and called again. They told me he was just heading out and if they can take a message. At that point, I was so angry that I told the employee that I need to speak to him and it was urgent. The owner finally called me back and we spoke for the first time. He was very aware of the situation and told me that it must be a "personality clash". He told me he bent over backwards for me and did two special orders that I was not happy with. What? As far as I know, I've only made one special order and that was the harness. The "collar" was not a special order. Your own employee did not know that 16inch large collar was the next size up from my small 14inch. MY SPECIAL ORDERED HARNESS CAME BACK WAY TOO SMALL. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO WITH A HARNESS THAT DOES NOT FIT MY DOG. As far as I know, I did make it clear that I had no problem picking up the harness after I returned my vacation. read more

I came here with my dog, I let my dog walk around leash free- as you usually do in pet stores- but unfortunately my dog had a little accident while he was walking around (he peed). I told the sales lady what happened and she was very rude. I cleaned after my dog and I continued shopping but then I realized she was all upset because my dog had an accident and was non stop complaining about it. She told me you should keep your dog leashed! I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. It is a dog store lady!!! you shouldn't get upset because a dog has a small accident, plus I cleaned after him! Definitely I will never come back here again. read more

I was blown away by how wonderful I was treated at George. I brought one of my dogs with me and we picked out a harness and leash, a beautiful down bed, some supplies, and some treats. The woman who helped me tucked a baggy of treats and a plush chew "stick" in the bag as a gift-SO thoughtful! I see a lot of other reviewers complaining about prices and the fact of the matter is that this is San Francisco. Owning a business in this city is expensive! If I lived in the valley somewhere, I'd have to get in my car and drive 25 minutes to some pet chain with cheaply made products that would wear down, break, or look like garbage over time. In fact, the harness I bought at Petfood Express frayed in one week. So I went to George, got a custom harness and leash and a beautiful bed that won't like stupid in my living room. And I was able to walk around the corner. These are the luxuries we pay for in SF. I'm glad George is so close to my home! read more

I'm so glad to have this store down the street. They carry Inova and that's all it matters :) Their dog foods are priced right. They also have very cute and unique selection of leash, collars, harness and clothes, even halloween costumes. But prices are a bit steep - which I guess is expected for a pet boutique in this neighborhood. I would come back for the dog foods and treats and try not to splurge on those cutest outfit. Very cool neighborhood pet store. My golden DeNiro love's this place. Of course, all dogs love pet stores. However, the staff is what separates this place from others. They always greet DeNiro with a welcoming smile and a few treats. I can't walk by the place without DeNIro wanting to stop by. Quality food for the dogs, quality products all around. read more

Excellent customer service and superior selection. One of the few places in SF to find my favorite award-winning Canadian dog food. Didn't realize we were out of food until 5:55, called George and they happily stayed open after 6:00 so we could run over and grab dinner for Fenix! Very helpful staff, definitely my go-to pet store. read more
