Mountain View Farm - View of house from outdoors

    Mountain View Farm

    (2 reviews)

Mountain View Farm was the perfect venue for our August 2024 wedding!…read more We initially discovered Mountain View Farm through internet searches and were immediately drawn in by the beautiful photos. After visiting the venue in person, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. Oana, who manages the venue, gave us a tour of the backyard and the house. Seeing it firsthand helped us visualize how we wanted to set things up. The outdoor space was ideal for the event itself. At the same time, the house provided a convenient and cozy option for us and our family to stay together, eliminating any worries about accommodation or travel time. The location is just far enough from Vancouver to feel like a peaceful escape, but close enough that it's easily accessible--only about a 45-minute drive. It ticked all the boxes for us. Venue Details: House rules: No shoes inside, and quiet hours start at 11 PM. Guests are responsible for cleaning up, trash/recycling and collecting towels in the laundry room. Pricing: The indoor house is $1,000 per night (5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms). Outdoor space prices vary by guest count: $135 per hour for up to 25 people, $165 per hour for up to 50 people. Rentals: They offer table and chair rentals (rectangular tables for 6 people, round tables also available) that can be added to your contract. Decor: Oana has decor available for rent, or you can bring your own. We loved the flexibility of choosing our own vendors, although they also provide recommendations. Before the wedding, we visited the farm one more time to finalize the layout and decor details. Oana was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, and we were thrilled to have her as our day-of coordinator. Her knowledge of the venue and her experience made everything run smoothly. We stayed at the farm for two nights--one night before the wedding and the night of--which was a huge help. It gave us time to settle in, unpack, and handle some of the setup the day before. The house is spacious and lovely, there's room to take it easy and even a jacuzzi, One minor issue some of our guests mentioned was the house's septic system, which requires no tissues to be flushed to avoid a potential flood. Honestly, we found this to be a small sacrifice for such a beautiful venue. The Wedding Day: The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect. Oana played a key role in ensuring everything went off without a hitch. Our guests loved the venue, and many commented on the stunning views. It felt like our little hidden gem, and all our hard work paid off. The photos were breathtaking, especially with the unobstructed views of Golden Ears. In the end, Mountain View Farm was the perfect choice for an outdoor wedding. We're so glad we had the flexibility to customize the space with our own vendors and decorations, and it gave us the beautiful, peaceful setting we were looking for.

With the stunning backdrop and well designed property amenities everyone loved it and had a beautiful time. Oana, Milad and the owner are beyond helpful and accommodating of any needs. We would highly recommend any special occasion to be held here.

Outstanding. We waited several weeks for a Saturday dinner reservation and made the trip all the…read moreway from Vancouver for it, and it was well worth it. The food is beautifully presented and tasty. The focus on flavour is obvious. We had three starters: scallops, crab cakes, and the beet salad. All had accompanying flavours that were layered and that didn't over power the dish's focus ingredient. For mains we had the pork chop and a beef duo of short rib and tenderloin. Both were served atop vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork chop had a delightful quince demi-glacé that was pleasing and a marvellous complement to the pork which was perfectly seared. The beef duo was terrific. And both were perfect, absolutely perfect in preparation and taste. It's a small room but it was warm and airy. They still have dividers up which was reassuring but not obtrusive. And the service was terrific. A young man, the owner's son seated us and brought us water efficiently and professionally. And our waitress was great; she remembered our order and we were looked after so well. Highly recommended.

This place definitely serves the best food in all of Surrey and Langley. The service, quality and…read morepresentation is just great, rivelling and better than some Michelin starred restaurants. The one issue is that the wine list is terrible for the quality of the food. Wines like Burrowing Owl or Bells Glos would be far better than these so called BC premium wines. Also a better sound selection would improve the ambiance. Have already made my reservation for next month! This restaurant should move to South Surrey where it would be much better appreciated! People still come in wearing ball caps like some side alley pub or Earls or Cactus Club. This plac e is far better than that!

I will admit: this is the one Yelp review that i've kept putting off... the one that time and time…read moreagain, i've made excuses for... because this dear folks, this is my greatest secret. I currently possess a library of 700+ books. It's safe to say, i'm a full fledged bibliophile. And i'm damn proud of my collection. I've got the Booker prize winners since my year of birth (personally mission to read), almost all the Nobel Literature laureates in the same time frame, CBC Reads authors, Giller Prize winners and even a few of Oprah's picks. I've got a couple shelves of poetry; a good collection of coffee table books and a cupboard of doubles - perfect for any house warming/dinner party/birthday gift. My library largely came together in the last three years and in its entirety, should have cost me thousands to assemble. Except it didn't. And after getting scolded by my mother for keeping quiet about a good cause, i'll explain why: The White Rock Rotary Book Sale. Hold on now. Don't roll your eyes. I know what you're thinking but this isn't an ordinary book sale full of old text books, cookbooks and bad romance novels (though, if that's your cup of tea, they have those too). No no, this is a magical land where you can find the greatest of authors in almost pristine condition. I've found Jose Saramago's Blindness in mint condition hard cover. About 8 perfect copies of The English Patient (the non-movie cover); not to mention every other title from Mr. Ondaatje. An old school version of 100 Years of Solitude before they started with the hokey covers... the list goes on and on and on. The first time my mother and I went, we left with two boxes each. Over 250 books. Because here's the best part: Not only is this for a great cause. And has a great selection. But it's $3 a book or 3 for $5. GGAAAHHHHHH!!!!! We're so notorious at this sale, that not only do they know both of us by name, but the exceptionally helpful club members occasionally set aside authors they know I like and pass on "HA HA beat you to it!" messages when my mother gets there before me. In fact, they not only help you look for whatever title you happen to be seeking but if they DON'T have it, they will take your information and call you after the sale if they come across it while sorting through the new used books. Why? Because these are the NICEST PEOPLE IN EXISTENCE. My mother and I are so obsessed with this book sale of mythical proportions that we arrange work and travel dates around it. It's serious business. So i'm telling you...still slightly begrudgingly...but i'm telling you because these are fabulous people, hosting a fabulous GEM of a booksale for a fabulous cause. And you should support them. I'm going to get there before you anyway. PS. For those with little ones (or the aunties & uncles with little ones to spoil): they have a decent collection of children's books available "by donation." Check their website for upcoming dates & stories on other good stuff.
