Ok this is going back but I remember when this was 4 rinks. The new rinks were made on the parking lot from before. Chicken wire was around some of the rinks. Ha ha Its a world class facility now with an artificial ice tread mill. Have spent many a day and night here. The pro shop has everything you need. The parking lot is still huge. The warm lounge and resto are also huge. The menu has the standard fair, burgers fries, coffee, tea and yes beer. Yes Blue is the best rink it's the one the Canucks use. All the rinks 1-4 are good.

    These nachos weren't so bad.

OK. Here's the deal. I know that this is primarily a sports complex and not a eating gallery, but someone still has to say something. Thus place licks donkey butt. The decor is dated and dirty, and often times the windows are fogged up and you can't see the action on the ice. The carpet is dingy and the chairs are often bent and don't sit straight. The food isn't all that good either. If you can ever get the attention of a server, (this place is understaffed) you'll get something that was shaken out of a preformed bag and reheated In your local deep fryer for you. To make things worse, the prices for this frozen junk are more or less the same for a real restaurant with real non bland food. Almost all their dishes taste the same! I've had their bones less wings and they are dry and heavily breaded. I would not get them again. They wanted $11 for that. Another time I wanted a burger Combo and it was $12, but the burger looked like they had just heated it up from a presidents choice bag and cut a floured ciabatta bun in half. The saving grace is that it's pretty hard to screw up nachos. Those weren't too bad, although their salsa is clearly from the bulk section of their sysco ordering guide. I should also note that if I am there watching an hour long game and I order a plate of nachos in the first period, I often don't get them till the third and final period of the game. Don't even get me started on where they came out with changing $7 for beer at this dive. Then I have to wait another thirty minutes for someone to bring me the bill. I come to watch amateur hockey. Not for the food or slow service. I think this much is obvious. 1 Star because I have to go, but my heart wants to pound this place for the poor service and poor food.

It may be down to 7 rinks (one is now indoor soccer) but it sure beats the pants off any other multi-rink complex I've been to.

Drop in splatter painting was fun for my toddler. He enjoyed getting paint everywhere…read more girls at the front were nice

I would never bring my kid here again…read more I bought a 1 hr drop in session through livingsocial and I thought it would be fun for my 4-year-old. Since it was advertised as a class, I imagined there would be activities or enough supervision to satisfy a child for one hour. NOOOOOOO... they basically gave us one piece of paper and paint, then go ahead, do your thing kid. No instructions, no activities, no prompts. For extra paper or canvas you have to pay extra. That didn't make sense to me. If you were to advertise it as a one hour class, then it's a one hour class. Enough activities to fill up an hour. If it is an art session for one painting, then it's a session with supplies included for ONE painting. That wasn't the worst thing though. We came back earlier than the one hour mark to check up on my girl. We found her wandering around the foyer area with absolutely no supervision. It was a completely open area from the back to the front so any child can just wander off, or worse, any person can walk in and just grab a child. Their staff should have done something to keep her inside. Scrap paper, crayons, play dough, ANYTHING. And for that matter, even if they couldn't handle her, ISN'T THAT WHY WE LEFT THEM TWO CELL PHONE NUMBERS?!?!! When we picked her up, no one noticed, no one acknowledged us. If I were a kidnapper, Kidoodles is the place to go. That was completely unacceptable and the staff were completely irresponsible. NEVER again.

The instructors and the staff are all very professional and experienced. Our daughter's teacher is a good fit. The class structure is very rigid. Do not expect any credits if you need to skip a week. On the flip side, the instructors are allowed to cancel with short notice for their own personal reasons. Our daughter's teacher has musical commitments a few times each year and this she misses out on lessons 4 or 5 times a year. The actual spaces can be hit and miss. Our daughter is in a small room in the basement, with very poor acoustic control, immediately adjacent the early learning room where very young kids clang and bang loudly on instruments including pianos and other loud instruments. Not very condusive to a quality private lesson environment for our child. In general we are happy.

I have taken three courses here (two spinning classes and a weaving class, as well as a short felting workshop) and have loved them all. The instructors are so knowledgeable and experienced that even in a beginner class you come out of it feeling like you can take on any project. If you are interested in the arts, this place will surely have something for you. And one of the best things about them, other than how incredibly affordable the classes are, is that they offer most of their programs in the evenings as well as during the day so those who work or go to school can still go.
