Sure, it`s a little run down, Nah, it`s not made for roid…read moremonkeys, and Ya, you bet! it`s a small community gym, but for us locals, us regulars, it's a gem. With its caring down-to-earth staff, split gym, pool and hot tub, steam and sauna, fitness classes, racquetball court and preschool, Ron Andrews (RA) keeps the community vibe fresh and flowin`strong. Maintaining a steady mixed demographic of preschoolers, moms, teens, fitness buff regulars and aquasizing steam-lovin` seniors, RA is a hub for the North Van community and it keeps us connected. And yes, it represents us better than the North Vancouver Boyz on Youtube ;) It oozes community factor and awesomeness... all because of the staff. They listen. After renos of the gym were completed a couple years back, the staff posted a bulletin: How do you like the new changes? Suggestions for improvement? [Suggestion box]. Though I liked the new layout very much, I submitted 4 suggestions after a few test-run workouts: more mats, add a full length mirror to the mat area, switch the location of a treadmill with another fitness machine because it's a little dangerous, and perhaps have a themed dance music night for a couple hours. And Voila! Within a week, my first 3 suggestions were implemented, and a basic questionnaire to have a dance music night went up. Community feedback is always encouraged here. They motivate. One of my friends began eating healthy and working out regularly to shed off a few extra pounds. She had been succeeding and gaining great results with her fitness plan. Noticing her change, the Weight Room Supervisor acknowledged that she was lookin great, ended up reviewing her food plan and providing healthy eating tips, and offered a couple personal training sessions if she could reach her next goal, which she did. How's that for motivation? ;) They care. Proactive, helpful, kind and continuously working to make it the best community centre it can be, the staff make RA the epitome of a well-run community centre. Core to their credo is community-mindedness. So by the looks of it, it's just your everyday reccentre with an average weight room and pool, but when you get to know it, you realize its the heart of our community... in the District of North Vancouver :)

What a beautiful place. Automatic revolving door to enter and regular doors…read more The building is very spacious and bright and airy. It is very popular with patrons. The parking lot is quite full. There were many classes going on when we were there for an event. Signages are more pictorial rather than in words. There is a swimming pool and gym facilities besides the classes like dance and taekwondo.

Also, the folks at Bonsor can be awkward if you're a woman swimming alone. I've also tried Eileen Pool. Ultimately, I settled on this one because it's newer, more spacious, and forced me to get used to practicing in a pool where I can't touch the floor at all. After a few weeks of regular practice here, I'm no longer anxious when I cross the boundary between the shallow and deep ends (at other pools). As a bonus, I haven't had unsolicited creepy comments from anyone here - they seem to be generally respectful. They also have lockers that you don't need to pay for, nor do you need to bring your own lock. My chlorine sensitivity is usually not triggered by the levels at this pool either. They also have a leisure pool but I find it too warm to swim laps. The one thing to keep in mind is to check the timings when they're operating in a 50 m / 25 m configuration - and whether that overlaps with classes.

I'm SO thrilled with the latest evolution of my childhood rec center of choice. When I was a kid, we'd go swimming, swinging on the rope and diving from the high dive. When I hit my teens, we'd play soccer on the field outside, hit the gym and attend "social gatherings" at WG. As an adult, I was using practically all the facilities William Griffin had to offer, from hot tubs to punching bags. When I heard they were going to be shutting down for renovations, I was naturally excited about the premise of something "new." When I found out the magnitude of said renovations, I became VERY excited. When I saw some videos about the progress of the NEW Delbrook Rec center online, and as I would drive by it regularly, I became eager and actually kind of impatient to see this masterpiece with my own eyes. (WHEN WILL IT BE READY FOR ME TO USE!?!?) This morning at 8:00 am, I went for a swim for the first time at the Delbrook Rec Center in North Vancouver. It was simply the most beautiful rec center pool I have ever seen, and I don't just mean on the North Shore. Obviously everything is pristine, brand new... the sauna still has that "New Wood Smell". But it's more than that. The one-touch on/off showers, the "Universal" change room, the super high ceilings and the from inside to out, and outside in... the feeling of connectivity and continuity from sauna to swim lanes, aesthetically, it's all just aces... Actually the feeling of connectivity exists not JUST in the pool, but throughout the building. Every room is somehow connected to the next in a way. Maybe it's all the windows that allow transparency from the pool to the lobby to the exterior to the fitness center, etc. etc. So much has been done with such a relatively humbly-sized space. The high ceilings throughout this rec center are really inspiring. And all the little details inside and outside, like the frog riding a bike (which recycles rain-water I think) and the blown glass art in the lobby keep you engaged. Even the walk up the path from the parking lot to the entrance is refreshing, thanks to the smell of blooming lavender! The new Delbrook Rec center has not disappointed me once since opening... and nor does it intend to... I don't think the novelty of this brilliant new community hub is going to wear off any time soon. It's gorgeous, the people who work there are so happy to be there, the people who visit are equally (if not more) happy... the whole vibe is very positive, uplifting, inspiring and just plain exciting. I am actually going to the gym there after work today for the second time since 8 am lol. I feel like a kid again! Thank you to the architects and workers who created this space, thank you to the North Shore Recreation Commission who envisioned something better for the community, and thanks to the community for accepting the new Delbrook Rec Center with open arms. I'll see you all there regularly!

Three lane lap pool for adults. The lounging part consist of 20% grass and remainder was good ole concrete. Concessions was good we had burgers with fries and kids had chicken tenders and fries. Change room was large size and simple with benches. Onsite parking can be found if your willing to go early and find it. There is also a playground nearby with lots of grass and picnic tables too. Reason for such a high rank was the incredible value (family of 4 was little over $13). This day of age was stunning and awesome. Overall will be back for future visits.

‼Sexual Harassment Warning‼…read more I experienced sexual harassment at this pool on July 21, 2026, at around 7:10 PM, and I have already reported the incident to the police. A white male repeatedly followed me around the pool and intentionally positioned himself so that my feet came into contact with his genital area multiple times. When I confronted him directly about his behavior, he said, "Thanks for the touching, I really appreciate it." I immediately started recording the conversation on my Apple Watch and asked him why he "appreciated" it. After I confronted him, he appeared startled and quickly tried to leave. I immediately reported the incident to the lifeguard, but he went into the men's change room and fled before staff could identify him. What is especially concerning is that the facility was unable to identify the individual because there was no record of his entry, and I was informed that there are no security cameras. This made it impossible to verify his identity or track his movements after the incident. I hope the facility reviews its safety procedures, including visitor access and surveillance, so that incidents like this can be investigated properly and other visitors can be better protected.

My sister and I had no problem finding a free rack. And of course it had all the other things typical to a gym-- free weights machines etc etc. But what did it for me was the full kettlebell set! I love kettlebells and was ecstatic to be able to do my kettlebell exercises at the YMCA as well. After our workout, we had yummy protein shakes as recovery drinks. Kidlet was sad the hotel we were staying at did not have a pool and saw this pool online and booked tickets. Had read reviews that there is not seating and figured a towel would be ok. Took some towels from the hotel and planned to settle in while kidlet swam. There is no where to put your towel except on pebbled concrete (they have painted squares on the ground I assume so people have space) or the grass. There are some concrete/rocked walls that you can sit on. Pool is very large/long. The lap swimming area is roped off from the shallow "recreational" swim. The recreational swim area is very shallow (2 feet deep). Kidlet was disappointed as they wanted to go in the deep area but there is no space for the deep area as it is all for lap swimmers. They have slides that slide into the deep area but you cannot use them as they are in the area where people are swimming laps. The pool is "heated" to 72 degrees. We were there for the morning session 9-11:30 and it was windy so we lasted less than an hour. Changing areas are very basic. Large open area with lockers (.25 refundable) with 2 changing stalls and some restrooms stalls off to the side of the changing area. There were open cubbies on the pool deck to store items as well. Fee was $7.94 for 1 adult and child/youth admission plus .95 ticket fee, and .45 GST total $9.34 CAD or $6.82 USD. Overall very inexpensive for some beautiful views. If you want to go I recommend renting or borrowing chairs unless you have a body of steel that enjoys laying/sitting on hardened pebbles.

Beautiful view overlooking Kitsilano Beach, the water and North Shore Mountains. Spacing was great. There are a lot of people doing lane swimming practice so be careful and aware of the marked areas or expect to be spoken to over the megaphone of the life guard. Bring a blanket and snacks to dry off around the side. Depth is up to 8 feet in some areas. We have gone three times in the past month and the process has been super easy purchasing tickets online and lining up near the Kitsilano Boatshow theatre to get in. I recommend prebooking tickets instead of link by up for drop in in the off chance you cannot get in!
