Jacob was referred to us by someone we trust. He came to our house dressed professionally, took plenty of time to understand our requirements and fully understood the task at hand. He was very familiar with the HOA requirements. His quote came a day later, comprehensive, with suggestions. He was able to get us earlier than promised because of a cancellation. I cannot say enough how much we were impressed with his painters (Jake, Keith and Randy). Most of the time there were 2 and sometimes 3. They were courteous and down right good people. The neighbors commented on their neatness and how every surface was prepped or covered to avoid overpainting. At the end of the day everything was clean. The job was done on time and not a penny over quote. We asked for additional work and they accommodate it. In short, Jacob Reitz and his crew have earned my business and my loyalty. I have already referred several people to them including my neighbors and 2 Realtors. When we paint the interior, we look forward to see them again.

Contractor and retired residential construction Superintendent and during my long career I've dealt with hundreds of various contractors and Painting companies and I'm very impressed with JRP. Jacob is very professional with the way he conducts business and I can't say enough great things about his job foreman Randy and his crew. I was always kept in the loop and all my expectations were met and exceeded . They never cut corners and took pride in their work. I wish all my previous contractors and future contractors are as good! I will no doubt use RJP again.

He decided it was a good idea to dispose of asbestos in the trash can, well the hazardous waste folks weren't too thrilled about that. Delayed the project about three months. Then when things finally started getting rolling again, he installed the wrong colored cabinets. Had to order the correct cabinets which of course took a month or so to order. Then he did the tile work in the bathrooms. Looks like it was done by a 5 year old. Cracks in the grouting, lines aren't straight, tile work isn't flat, fixtures aren't sealed properly, grout color is mismatched in spots, and tiles weren't even cleaned after grouting. Bathrooms will likely require complete remodel to avoid getting mold, but he said "yeah it wasn't the best but should be okay". Then a relatively easy task, install a condenser, he also couldn't get right. He installed a 1.5 ton R-22 heat pump when the contract said 3 ton R-410a condenser. Oh and did that installation NINE months after the completion of the rest of the project. Now the condenser needs to be replaced and he won't return my emails or calls... Looks like I'll be stuck with the bill on this one. Final finishing... He's left holes in the side of my house, my garage, and my ceiling. Detail work isn't really his thing as evidenced by the awful tile work. Buyer beware!

However, I'm breaking the silence for Fox Construction because it truly deserves a praise. I got a notice from my HOA (Don't you hate those Nazi Home Owner's Assoc?) that I needed to repaint my wrought iron gate and window shutters. I thought about doing it myself but I was just too busy. The HOA didn't give me a lot of time to take care of the 'offense'. If you live in a community with HOA, you know the horror stories. Thus, I decided to hire a pro who knows what to do quickly and also wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. Luckily a friend knew Kurt and highly recommended him. I called and Kurt came over to do an estimate the next day. The quote he gave me was 20% cheaper than another quote I got but that was not the only reason I hired Fox Construction. I wanted to make sure the job was done right and it was. Kurt went to the store and got the matching paint. He even restored the decorative metals on the shutter to its original color. (We got lazy the last time and just painted them the same color as the shutter). I was so impressed with his work I had him walked around the house and patched all the cracks on the stucco walls. He also cleaned out a part of the outside wall that was molded due to obstructed gutter. Kurt has extensive construction experience and can do just about anything in and out of the house. If you have a project you need done for your house, call Fox Construction. He is honest, thorough, dependable, and professional. Most of all, his charges are very reasonable. Trust him with your home remodeling project and you won't regret it.

On further inspection, we found that there were many areas on the exterior of the house that needed attention. A friend recommended George of Coastal Coatings. He discovered some termite action and dry rot which we addressed. He worked with me to select the trim color for the house. He painted the exterior of the house in spite of delays due to rain. I have a 2 year guarantee on his job and he is available for touch up work should it me needed. We are very pleased with the result.

They worked five straight days to get the job done and it was done just as we wanted. They did a great job cleaning (particularly the mildew under the eaves) and prepping. Where needed, they used a superior primer to make sure the job would last. They patched and filled in the gaps in our wood siding to keep water out. They sprayed but also rolled the areas that would benefit from it. In some places, they did a double-coat to ensure we were happy. The paint on the windows and trim was perfect. Raul, Roy, and Jr. were the best! Friendly, careful, willing to answer questions when I had them. and they made sure we had a paint job we would be proud of. For all the work they did - including scraping, patching, covering up our bushes and extra touch-ups when needed, we were thrilled at the reasonable price for the job. His crew was great, they worked full days from about 7:30am to about 5pm, their execution was expert and the results are very aesthetic despite the uneven nature of the house. Everything that Jose and I talked about he did; there were many details I wanted to include like stuccoing the location for the old electric panel, patching the location if an AC wall unit, covering some vertical and horizontal cracks etc. When the crew unexpectedly uncovered stop valves on plumbing that was buried by a previous owner, they installed an access panel for me. I'm extremely happy with the experience I've had with A & B Lathering and Plastering, I love the final result, and thankful to Jose and his fantastic crew for being so reliable and trustworthy.
