Our family home was destroyed in a fire two days before Thanksgiving, 2015. It took three years to rebuild our home. During that time the landscaping was neglected, so our yards became something of a jungle. During the fall season of 2018, John Tran of GeoLand Construction & Landscaping implemented plans for the front and back yard landscaping of our home, including flag stone accents, a brick patio for the front of the home and bricks to widen our driveway, some large accent rocks, a fountain, timed sprinkler and drip watering system and footpath lighting. One thing we appreciated was that he incorporated several of our surviving trees and plants with the landscaping, which helped reduce the investment. This overwhelming job was done in just a few months (in contrast to rebuilding the home.) Even more impressive, during the four years after finishing the landscaping job, John has come to help me out whenever I have had any issues, particularly with the timers for the sprinkler and drip system. How often do you hear someone say "Our contractor is perfect!"? It's never been said in our home until now and we've had a lot of work done on our 106-year-old house. We just completed a huge landscaping project with Geoland and I'm absolutely certain that it would not have been the amazing space that it is without John and his team. Our project included a complete redesign, a driveway, an expanded backyard, park strips, and detached garage perimeter. Lots of grading, pavers, masonry, Ipe wood decking, concrete work, drainage, fencing, artificial turf, lots of 24" box trees, plants, irrigation, lighting...truly we tested all their skills except for adding a pool! More amazing, our project was finished in less than 4 weeks! We even had tweaks and changes but John navigated through these without missing a beat. AND, he was awesome about making sure I understood the pros and cons with regards to materials, design issues and tree/plant choices. His advice and guidance was invaluable and saved us a lot of grief in the long run. I am sure of this! George from Geoland replaced my fence last spring. There are a couple of posts on one side that are not evenly lined up which makes the line crooked and on the other side after 2 months one of the upper two by four on one of the posts which is held by only 2 screws is separating from the post. I have fulfilled my end of the contract by paying all the installments that he asked for and payment in full upon completion. He has not. I called him in August, September, October, November and December. He acknowledges that there is a problem because I sent him the pictures that he requested and keeps telling me that he will be in to fix the problem but never does. i would never recommend him to anyone. He does a poor job and does not come back to fix his deficiencies. read more

John and his crew did a fantastic job removing our old rotting deck, building a new one and salvaging the large dimension timber of our old pergola and rebuilt it. A few years ago my wife and I wanted to upgrade our back yard. We had an old wood deck and a basic lawn area. We had some input on design concepts from others and settled on a plan. We contacted GeoLand for a bid and ended up selecting them. The new design included the complete demolition of the existing wood deck and replacing it with sandstone in a very intricate pattern. During the installation the foreman made some suggestions to modify the plan for a better overall balance. The installation included a free-standing fountain in the middle of the new grass area off of the new patio. We are most pleased with our back yard to this day and receive compliments from all who see it for the first time. We had them tear out our old backyard and install new lawn, concrete, and an irrigation system. The price was average based on our research, but they came with a recommendation so we went with them. The demolition was good. It was fast and pretty thorough, but there were definitely random (and hidden) pockets of concrete that was not disposed of. The irrigation and lawn were (and still are) great. However, the concrete was, and is, awful. We went with a colored concrete. After they poured it, we asked how long until it could be walked on. They told us 24-48 hours. To this day, over a year later, there are footprints from both me and their workers. There are also uneven parts, as though certain sections sank down. They moved my BBQ back to the original spot, and scratched the heck out of the concrete. The concrete dried and was splotchy and discolored. I kept telling them it was bad, and they kept telling me "it was ok, just wait a bit...it will totally dry out and look great." Finally they agreed the color was off, so they painted over it. Then it rained and the paint peeled. Then they repainted it. The whole time I was asking "don't you need to stain or seal this?" They said "no - it was exterior paint...just make sure it doesn't get wet for 3 days." Now the second coat is peeling as well. I checked the can they used, and it clearly states "DO NOT GET WET FOR 30 DAYS" and it also suggests a sealant! I am going to have to re-do the whole thing myself. Not too hard, but not what I signed up for in the first place. The only thing I will say is the lawn/irrigation is great, and they were very responsive to my complaints. However, I recommend you only use them if you have lawn/irrigation needs and nothing else. FYI - I re-did the stain job and it looks better, but still not worth a fraction of what I paid. EDIT - Please look at my review and how real/normal I talk, and what I specifically called out (like lack of clean-up), and then look at the other reviews. Which looks real, and which look like advertisements? EDIE part 2 - Please look again at me previous edit. Nobody talks like the newest reviews. Also, look at the date of my review and then look at the date of "1st to review". Shady company. read more

We would rate 6 stars if we could. John and his company Geoland are a first class act. We have used them twice once in 2006 and then again this year for installations of our landscaping..both times were large projects. The first time we re-landscaped the front and backyards, added new concrete patio areas, a gas fire pit with surround seating, hot tub with arbor, an outdoor kitchen with built-in barbeque and fridge. Lighting, ,drainage and irrigation. John was very attentive to making sure that any additional hardscape blended seamlessly with our existing structure. The second time we used Geoland was this year with another complete revision of the the landscaping... we removed the front and back yards to create a more drought friendly setting with new plants, irrigation revisions, new lighting. John was always honest and fair with us in regards to both our original estimates and any later revisions. John was great about returning our calls and emails in a timely manner, which is another rare trait these days. John was responsive to our questions and concerns and always tried to make sure we were happy with our finished project and if something was not right (this did not happen often) he made it right even weeks after the project was completed. Johns crew (some of which I remembered from years ago) was great too. They always worked hard and were good about tidying up at the end of the day. Johns projects with us were as timely as possible given any potential weather or inspection issues that might have crept up along the way. I have had a great experience working with GeoLand on my landscaping projects so far and would recommend him to others for their consideration. My landscaping started as a blank slate after I tore down and rebuilt my house. John has so far removed the original concrete driveway, installed a new paver driveway, irrigation, drain lines, downspouts connectors, low voltage lighting, planter boxes, mailbox pillars, IPE deck stairs, steel fence, artificial grass, concrete cutting, and outdoor gas supply lines. He has always been very fair on pricing, I trust his recommendations, his crew works extremely fast and clean up each day before they leave. They installed a gas fired fire-pit, grill with granite slab, and a waterfall. Arizona Sun granite tiles in our backyard transformed a modest sitting area into an elegant backyard where both kids and grownups can party. Lighting and sprinkler systems were upgraded. Drip irrigation system was installed in pertinent areas of the backyard. GeoLand was easy to work with, and made excellent suggestions on the type of granite, color, etc that would add aesthetic value to the backyard. The elegant curved retaining wall provides additional seating to entertain large groups. GeoLand met all their scheduled deadlines alleviating inconvenience related to construction projects.
