I went to the place three times and every time I ate something at the restaurant, my stomach got upset next day.

Worst place to go for Korean style sushi. They are so cheap. It is crazy that they charge almost 400 dollars for a really small portion.

From my understanding, this place is owned by the former owner of Khan, which was a well respected establishment in the area. I've only hung out upstairs, but it's a calmer vibe than a lot of the other hotspots in Annandale. There's no DJ and it's not super crowded, but the music is good and it truly is a place to just drink and hang out with your friends. The food here is actually phenomenal. From skewers to shareables like the potato pancake to entrées like the spicy creamy pasta, I've been very satisfied with it all. But really, what tops the food is the service. We've had the pleasure of being served by some of the nicest people, Bruce the manager, Scott, Jack, who we now call Jack Jack, and Hayden. Need a place to drink? Chung Dam got you.

The interior is pretty big with two floors available for seating. The music was loud and most parties were there for the drinks and late-night vibes. CHARCOALED GRILLED CHICKEN - 23 There were more rice cakes than there were chicken. The sauce was spicy and savory, but nothing memorable. Chicken was cut into small pieces, so it tasted a bit dry. The rice cakes had a weird texture I didn't like. Meh. SEAFOOD PANCAKE - 18 Pretty soggy and not a lot of seafood (maybe one bite of seafood per piece). It tasted fine, but not worth it for the price. The food was just okay -- we can definitely find better seafood pancakes and rice cakes at other Korean restaurants nearby. Probably a great spot if you're drunk though.

Sushi quality wasn't bad and they did somewhat mess up our service last night by forgetting a few items but made up for it and bounced back. I like that they have their own private rooms for diners because it gives a sense of privacy for the experience. Would definitely come back to try other options.

The amount of options they have for the food was actually nothing like I've experienced before. Typically you go for AYCE sushi or AYCE bbq/hot pot. This place I think had an amazing balance of Izakaya and the premium sashimi being the show stealers. Yes. There's a max of how much you can order the premium sashimi. We started round 1 with them and they really set the bar for the rest of our experience. As much as we love sushi, my family and I kept wanting to order more of the small plates or the pork belly (my kid had 3 orders of it himself) or the ramen. Everything from the quality of food, to the private dining room, to the service, everything seemed worth the price. This is a bit of a drive for us so we will definitely mark it as a place to drop by when we are up in northern VA to get some great quality food and service.

The mug it came in was charming and broth was delicious. It honestly hit the spot. 10/10 *Chuncheon Dakgaibi - spicy and savory. Loved the flavor. However, there was barely any chicken in the dish. The majority of the dish consists of cabbage and onions. My table and I were fishing for any piece of chicken. 6.5/10 *Pan Fried Seafood Udon - also spicy and great flavor. Udon was soft and chewy. Came with A LOT of muscles and onions, a couple big shrimps, and some baby shrimps, carrots, jalapeños and peppers. Same with this dish, there was not a lot of udon noodles. 7.8/10 Ambiance: there weren't many people at this spot, it was located at the corner of the strip (basically in the cut). But the decor and lighting was nice. My friend and I chose a spot that had a table on the floor, and you get to sit on pillows (SO CUTE). 9/10 Would I come here again? Absolutely. Although they skimp out on ingredients, the flavor and spices were definitely there. It's a chill hangout spot to grab drinks and food. It's also located right next to a bingsoo (korean shaved ice) spot! Overall rating: 7/10

We went to a newer spot in the Annandale food scene and were throughly surprised at the quality of food (given it seemed more like a bar). To start, we tried some skewered fish cakes and rice cakes. These both had a great texture and came with a really soothing and comforting broth. Then we tried their tofu soup and Korean army stew. Both the soups were very tasty and had a good umami flavor. They were bold, spicy and filled with lots of different things. This food hit just the spot and will definitely be in our lineup of late night eats! I want to mention I was meeting friends and never did we once feel like we were rushed at all. They were very careful to watch and approach in a perfectly timed manner. The food was all very good. The fried zucchini was served not at all as I would expect. Very thin, but good. The tzatziki sauce had way too much garlic. The fried squid was excellent. Probably the best I've ever had. Extremely tender, and the coating was not hard at all. The scoldolia (garlic spread) served in the center had very little garlic in it. It should have a lot of garlic, unlike the tzatziki sauce. The octopus was served with a lovely, what I believe to be, lemony hummus. The Bronzino was excellent. The seafood souvlaki special was very good. It was served with rice and Greek style green beans. My friends had the loukumades (fried donuts). They said they were very good. I had the galotopoudiko which was good--could've been a little bigger for the price. Will definitely go back. My only comment is for the prices, I would expect a little nicer atmosphere. It's a little cold and baron. The atmosphere at Nostos is better. Sorry, but I always seem to forget to take pictures before I start eating the food.
