I had a hard time deciding what to order because everything looked so good. And, it was good. Chicken wings with a cup of Mac n cheese with a side of onion rings, how can one go wrong?

We started with Taiwanese chicken bites as an appetizer. These (picture attached) were piping hot and the dipping sauce was ok but the bites themselves were pretty tough and chewy. They were 'crispy' but so chewy and tough that they weren't very enjoyable. The side salad was very nicely prepared and generously sized. It was pretty hard to eat because the small square plate it was served on was overflowing. The best thing we ordered was the vodka sauce pasta with shrimp. It was rich and flavorful. The other entree was a beet salad with chicken. The beets and chicken were fine. I didn't understand raw onion slivers on the salad and personally, I think onions and dried cranberries are both odd for a beet salad. What is classically on a beet salad and missing from this one was some form of cheese. Goat cheese would have been really appreciated. Overall I liked the feel of the Racalto's but mostly didn't enjoy the things we tried.

Definitely a spot where you could linger for a while. Food-wise, we ordered the fried rice with crispy chicken (breaded in crushed Cheerios--yes, Cheerios, and yes, surprisingly delicious!), the bánh mì, and the crispy chicken sandwich, which ended up being the star of the show. Every bite of that sandwich was perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and satisfying. We upgraded our side to the greens, which came topped with some mysterious orange ingredient--maybe a grated carrot dressing? Whatever it was, it was scrumptious. We also ordered a side of pickles, which were surprisingly affordable and so flavorful that they disappeared fast. We didn't try any drinks, but the menu had plenty of interesting options to choose from. One of my favorite parts of the experience was how family-friendly the place felt: while we waited, the kids grabbed a new-to-us game (The Enchanted Forest) from the board game shelves, which made the time fly by. Service was attentive and friendly without hovering, and overall we had a fantastic experience. If we lived closer, this would be a regular lunch spot for sure!

The ambiance is dim and quiet, but they were happy to have us. My 4 year old used colored pencils on coloring sheets we brought with us. For babies and small kids, they have ingelisa chairs that clip on the high tables and I was concerned about the high chairs for our 4 year old but it was fine. She devoured her entire meal(chicken tenders) and a half of our 1 year olds' (they have a kids menu with chicken tenders, grilled peanut butter and fluff, noodles with butter, hot dog..). The service was fast and great. While I am vegetarian and my spouse is gluten free, we are always pleasantly surprised when we both find delicious food. I loved the general tso's poboy with cauliflower and tofu. I wish there was more cauliflower since my 1 year old took many of those pieces. My spouse got something with "pulled pork and quinoa" and he said it was very good too.
