Better Days is a somewhat dingy bar that serves cheap food and drinks…read more There are two other locations with bars on Main Street -- Hamar's (total dive) and Beef Haus (more of a restaurant than bar). Better Days is the "middle ground" between those two. I had their wings, which were good (but not great for this region), and are deep-fried in front of you at the bar by the bartenders. There are a variety of different sauces to choose from, I went traditional with the "hot" sauce, which was a standard buffalo sauce. Wings didn't crisp up as much as I generally prefer them, but the sauce was good. No breading, thankfully. I believe breaded wings are verboten in western NY. The service was a bit spotty, e.g. bartenders forgot to provide me with napkins, and were generally distracted, but it was a busy Thursday evening, so maybe they deserve a little slack? No way! Bad bartending grates on me. If you're a beer-pouring, shot-slinging bartender type who is not able to mix decent cocktails, you should at least be on-point with service. One other thing about this place that annoyed me were the low/short bar-stools that were not high enough for a man of average height to eat off of the bar top. I literally was eating my basket of wings off of my lap. Go to Better Days and try to eat something at the bar, and you'll see what I'm talking about. What other options does someone have who is visiting Wellsville? If you've already tried Beef Haus, you're SOL. This is why I don't think that a visit to Better Days is a bad idea if you're in Wellsville for more than a day. If nothing else, it's an affordable dining and drinking option.

I just moved away from Wellsville, and man am I gonna miss this place!…read more Great Pub Grub, cheap drinks, and an eclectic assortment of regulars. If you don't come out of Better Days with a good story to tell your friends, you've done something wrong.

This is such a nice business concept, and a clever reuse of a former gift shop enterprise. The food offerings are light fair, Panini's, pretzels, pizzas. We would definitely recommend Beer Justice!

My husband and I wanted to enjoy the summer night, so we took a motorcycle ride down to the brewery on a Thursday night. When we arrived, they immediately scored points for having cool plants, and pretty lights. The ambiance is great. We ordered at the counter and our bartender (I suspect the owner) was friendly and helpful. He even had his pup, Toby, in the bar, which made me so happy (shout out to all the beerboss pups of the world)! The beers were very enjoyable. I will say that they use the terms "a hint of" loosely lol. I really liked the blond stout (which had a strong chocolate cherry flavor) and the cream ale! I tried the peach cream ale, and it was delish, but very peachy :) my husband had a hefe which he said was great but didn't taste very "hefe". For food, they had a small menu, and we ordered the chicken panini (7/10- just needed a little seasoning) and the cheeseburger pizza (11/10-yum). There was a good crowd playing song trivia on Thursday night, so it felt warm and inviting. We talked to a couple on the patio for a bit, but decided to stay inside due to the mosquitoes swarming. Definitely worth a visit!

Definitely a spot where you could linger for a while. Food-wise, we ordered the fried rice with crispy chicken (breaded in crushed Cheerios--yes, Cheerios, and yes, surprisingly delicious!), the bánh mì, and the crispy chicken sandwich, which ended up being the star of the show. Every bite of that sandwich was perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and satisfying. We upgraded our side to the greens, which came topped with some mysterious orange ingredient--maybe a grated carrot dressing? Whatever it was, it was scrumptious. We also ordered a side of pickles, which were surprisingly affordable and so flavorful that they disappeared fast. We didn't try any drinks, but the menu had plenty of interesting options to choose from. One of my favorite parts of the experience was how family-friendly the place felt: while we waited, the kids grabbed a new-to-us game (The Enchanted Forest) from the board game shelves, which made the time fly by. Service was attentive and friendly without hovering, and overall we had a fantastic experience. If we lived closer, this would be a regular lunch spot for sure!
