Update to my original review:…read more Dr McDonald saw that I had left a review that shared that I hadn't had the best experience at my consult. Once he saw that, he asked if we could have a phone call so he could get some feedback and improve. We had a really great chat. I was able to express to him the things that left me feeling overwhelmed by his proposed treatment plan. I said that as a potential patient being offered a pretty invasive plan, he hadn't given me a lot of information to go on. Instead I had gone home and googled it myself to find some pretty intense pictures of jaw surgeries, the metal device to widen the jaw, and other things that left me feeling overwhelmed. He chuckled and said that was understandable and said it was helpful for him to hear that so he could improve how he communicates. He also expressed to me that he doesn't love to do invasive treatment plans, but he will do them if he feels it is going to give the best result. He reminded me that he did suggest I go to a dentist for some dental planing to see if that could fix my bite without orthodontics prior to his treatment. He seems like he really cares about patient outcomes. I told him I was currently having Invisalign done at another office, and he even asked me if I would tell him how I felt about my results there in the end. He wanted to know if I would be happy with the bite correction achieved in a manner other than the one he had proposed so he could have a better understanding of my outcome. All in all, I am still happy with my decision to go to another office for a simpler treatment plan. But today, I have a newfound respect for a doctor of orthodontics in town, and I really appreciated the call! I can really respect a human who will sincerely seek feedback and who always wants to improve. Thanks, Dr. McDonald!

So I had seen Dr. Yenne waaaay back in 1986 or 1987 for braces when he was taking over his fathers…read morepractice on Liberty St. After 30 years (yes, it lasted that long) my retainer became loose and I called Dr. Yenne's office actually to have a new one put in. I thought, who better to put it in than the original orthodontist that did my braces. I called to make an appointment an inquire about cost and the staff informed me that he would fix it for free. Ok, great! After all these years, I thought that was pretty cool. I get to the office and no one is in sight. Ok, so I sit and wait. The front office staff were slightly rude. You know the looks you get when someone thinks uh, yeah sure you had treatment here and we can't verify it because we no longer have your records so we have to oblige you. Oh, I guess I should have apologized? Or maybe I should have looked different, more upscale perhaps? I get called back and sit between a couple of tweeners who already know the "routine". Dr. Yenne barely said anything to me. I would have thought he would have made some kind of inquiry or "gee, how have you been after all these years". But Nope! What a pompous a**.... His orthodontic assistant was nice but him? Meh. I am sure it was because he had to do something for free....what a waste of his precious, money making time! He proceeds to drill the old glue off and asks how long I had had the retainer....about 30 years I said. He says, wow, it lasted that long.....and....."this is why I stopped using braided wire about 29 years ago". I felt as if he thought I was lying. Oh, I am sorry that YOU PUT BRAIDED WIRE IN FOR A RETAINER AND NOW YOU HAVE TO DRILL SOME OF THE GLUE OFF! I am sorry that it took longer than five minutes since you had other "paying" customers waiting! Don't offer to fix something for free if you don't really want to do it. Um-kay! He seemed irritated that he had to drill some of the old glue off and add some glue to secure it on. Really? Not to mention he did a crappy job. I had huge glue globs between my teeth that kept peeling off and I also had to floss off and most of his "fixes" have come off, except for one. Boo Dr. Yenne!!!!
