I found Shoreview a few years ago when I was unhappy with some work my previous dentist had done. I checked the online reviews for every dentist in my PPO in the Salem/Keizer area, and they had some of the best reviews at the time. My whole family goes there now. They do good reliable work, manage their appointments well so I rarely if ever get stuck in the waiting room. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Full marks! read more

I had negative experiences with Dr Baumgartmer / Shoreview Dental in Keizer. I had been a regular client for seven years and things eventually turned sour. They charged me two $50 missed appointment fees the week my 92 year old dad got sepais and we had to take him into the ICU. Mom died half a year earlier and I thought I was going to lose my Dad too (it was a difficult year). Other times there were "miscommunications" about expected charges (besides regular cleanings and fillings I've needed a few crowns and a root canal). I'd recommend ALWAYS getting a written estimate and holding on to it. Last summer a filling came out while I was out of state. I left a question on the office voicemail after-hours. I woke up the next day to find they had scheduled me for an appointment without speaking to me and they were unhappy I didn't make an appointment that I never made. They also were always leaving messages at the last minute asking me to come in earlier or later. As a caregiver who also works for the State it's really difficult to get away or change my schedule at last minute. I found out from my new dentist they also sent a snarky note along with my records. I found them really difficult to work with. I recommend trying other places first. read more

Communication was horrible didn't call back during weekend with on call provider just didn't do his job, took from Sunday to Tuesday for a response then the visit wasn't honorable doesn't care to be following up on past provided plans on teeth and put me through unnecessary pain just to see that the tooth was alive to say if I didn't pull he wouldn't give me the antibiotics to treat the infection, he also isn't going to follow what are plans we're in place from the great girl doctor before had a plan that made me feel safe and made since and would keep my confidence and treat the issues, today I was in extreme pain not one bit of communication and he said there wasn't a pustal when there was it litterly was there to the nurse and to my family and filled back up after he was abrasive and dismissed my consens and also didn't seem to want to help me understand or didn't even have care of compassion for not just the infection but the cancer I'm going through, to date was the worse visit there yet actually to any dental professional ever. granted finally reception was kinder then in the past but that was after my call about being treated different because I'm on Medicare and OHP I have friends and colleagues that go there with blue Cross advantage and are treated much better on other side, that doctor is good Dr. Bombgardner I've heard good things of her but she won't see people who are advantage OHP, I felt discrimination and not cared for. Just my experience, not to call back for 3 days is unprofessional and so ethical and just to let patients know I'm not the only one this has happened too somebody I know recently a month and a half ago had an emergency in the evening and no one ever called them back there partial has had to be sent back multiple times from being made wrong and there time of work has taken away from his family leave, I don't know if they're in it for the money and really don't care about people or if it's bad management and hiring. The last a year ago on my side was amazing and professional and kind and maybe she left because she to was treated like this, not sure but they really need to look into hiring people who care and who have knowledge of providing best up to date cutting edge dental treatment available . I have been a patient for over a year now and have only been able to get in 3 times prior to today's total waste of time. The last female dentist who I saw each time was nice, very detail oriented, quick qnd efficient even with the hassle of being see I was pleased. In March I had an appointment and had another for this morning over 3 months later. I was supposed to get 2 fillings. About 9 days ago I called to ask about switching that to get a cap replaced that was sharp an jagged an cuts the inside of my mouth. I was told no, point blank. The had me scheduled to get 2 teeth filled in. Once i get laid back the new dentist starts messing with the wrong tooth. He was going to do something to the tooth they fixed 3.5 months ago in March. I told him it was supposed to be the 2 front one. . He told me i cant fill those but i could grind them down some. I asked ehy he couldnt and him and his assistant blamed it on the old dentist because she was aggressive with her treatments. And to add insult to injury unless you have top notch private insurance be prepared to wait 3-4 months at a time to come in for a 45 minute appointment. Sure they have a nice office with a view but the turn around time is inane and totally favorable to the privately insured patients. The first couple times were good but it seems they do that to draw you in and then once your established they just throw you in the wait pile. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have had better service from tiny offices then I have with Shoreview Dental.​ read more

The incompetence of the receptionists and assistants is astounding. They need to be educated on what HIPAA is, rather than verbally vomiting it to defend illegal policies. A caregiver was not allowed to remain with a patient, under the claim that it "violated HIPAA" -- that is not what HIPAA is about, nor is it relevant when the patient consents. read more

I had oral surgery December 8th. They didn't send me home with any after care instructions, gauze, and they didn't honor my Doctor's note for stronger pain meds. They sent me a letter dismissing me. This is discrimination on a disabled person. They told me I was difficult to work with.. When they are the ones that made me feel uncomfortable They were mean to me about bringing my service dog in. read more

Let's face it not many people really enjoy going to the dentist. That's what put me in the situation I was in. I got to a point where I said enough is enough. As embarrassed as I was I knew I had to face it head on. The staff at Shoreview dental handled my situation with such class and professionalism. Never once was I made to feel bad about my situation instead I had a team of amazing people in my corner cheering me on through it all. Dr, Jen Rosales was the kindest, most polite, and professional Doctor I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Along with her awesome assistant, Michelle, they made me feel comfortable and walked me through everything. Long story short I left there with a new smile and a huge reason to smile if only I had met them sooner... that is my only regret. As a child I went to Gentle Dental and never felt they were gentle. I'd often leave with cuts under my tongue from X-ray and never given enough anesthesia to numb the pain. Since my first couple of visits I have always felt comfortable and cared for by both the dental hygienist and my dentist. Denise is phenomenal and nonjudgmental when it comes to teeth cleanings and exams. Several times she checked in with me to make sure things weren't too painful and oils let me know ahead of time if something might start to feel uncomfortable. Dr. Baumgartner is absolutely top notch. She is gentle, kind and truly cares for her patients. I've never felt I didn't have the opportunity to voice my opinion and she's very gentle and considerate. I've never enjoyed Dental visits until this office. read more

Daughter just turned 12 and we just got established at this clinic. I love how they direct their attention to the child when talking about the dental care and at a level they understand. Gentle and kind while taking X-rays and cleaning. They have a super full schedule due to state insurance changes but they will get you in. read more

Dr. Rosales is excellent. I went to her because she accepted my insurance (OHP) at the time but since I got a new job with dental insurance I wanted to go back. Unfortunately, my new work schedule doesn't fit their schedule but I would certainly recommend her to anybody who is looking for a dentist. read more

I go here even though I live in South Salem. The appointments are always on time, with text reminders a day or two before you are scheduled. The staff is very friendly and the cleanings are as gentle as they can be. No hidden costs or charges either. Highly recommend. read more

I was so very nervous at the prospect of dental work, but had neglected my teeth while I was uninsured. I was referred to Shoreview Dental by a friend and I am so very pleased that I took her advice. Dr. Rosales is not only very professional she is also friendly and caring. I have found the staff to be wonderful at their jobs and patient and caring as well. I am kind of a whiner when it comes to dental work and they have been just wonderful. I ended up having to have complete upper dentures and partials on the bottom. I am no longer anxious about going to the dentist and believe me THAT IS AMAZING!!!! read more

I am a former Dental asst. that practiced for 25 years. As a military wife who had to move around quite a bit during the course of my career. I can honestly say that not many offices have impressed me as much as Shoreview Dental has. Their staff was not only very friendly with myself, but was also very helpful with the patients that I sat in the waiting room with. The Doctor as well as the Assistant were both very informative and knowledgeable of what all my options were.
