I've got the best dental team I've ever had. Dr Stringham and my hygienist Kate are an absolute dream. they've completely exceeded expectation of any kind. I'm pretty difficult to deal with but they're always so patient. the front staff is always awesome. Mikes always helps get me in and out which is very important if you're busy like most people are. I've recently had my dream made a reality by having the best dentist in the world place my new bridge of gold teeth. He and Kate helped me with the knowledge on how to take care of it ensuring it stays healthy and awesome. I will never change dentists again. Janelle has been my Hygienist for the majority of that time. She is very professional, patient and thorough in her work. Due to unfortunate circumstances when very young' dentistry was relegated to a pair of pliers and a handful of aspirin. This did present challenges in later life to dentists who did their best. I was referred to Hunsaker Dental by a friend. I have always been blessed in my life. I won the marriage lottery, the career lottery, and the sweepstakes at Hunsaker dental. Dr. Stringham at that establishment issued, to me, the winning ticket. The word meticulous best describes his approach to his art. I just I contacted Delta dental and they said that if they required pictures in order to have proof that the appointment was necessary, that they would have paid for that service as well. to the Hunsaker Dental today and they are billing me $109 for REGULAR pictures (not X-rays) they took of my broken permanent retainer bar that was glued to the bottom of my teeth. They looked in my moth and the bar confirmed the bar was in face broken and they said it was not repairable. After they told me that. They decided to take pictures of the broken bar. When the appointment was over, they charged me $109 for the pictures and told me that insurance would not cover it but that they HAD to take the pics for insurance to cover the appointment. I questioned the $109 charge and was told that insurance would not cover it and if I had an issue with that, I might wanna contact Delta Dental. I immediately called Delta Dental and they said that if they required pictures in order to have proof that the appointment was necessary, that they would have paid for that service as well. Feels to me that they performed unnecessary services (pictures) and billed me for it to make more money. It doesn't make sense that if the insurance company required these pictures why the insurance company wouldn't be the one to pay for it. read more

We recently moved to Oregon from South Florida and needed to continue our regular dental care schedule. My husband and I wanted someplace close to our home but a dentist with a good reputation and good reviews. We found both in Dr. Stringham with Hunsaker Dental. Not only is Dr. Stringham an excellent dentist but I never felt rushed or my questions brushed aside. He took all the time I wanted to answer my questions. He explained everything he was doing and made sure I was comfortable with every procedure along the way. When it came time to schedule two fillings for an upcoming visit, he asked me what anesthestic procedure I felt comfortable with. We even got a welcome bag with goodies!! All the ladies in the office treated both my husband and myself in the exact same manner-kind, courteous and most of all, we felt as though we were valued customers! Although they do good dental work, they lack heart and compassion. My previous company canceled insurance sooner than they said they would and when I tried to work a lower total cost out with Hunsaker for a service that was done with the insurance timeframe, they simply said "we can't do that". Even after explaining that both my wife and I lost our jobs and just had our 3rd baby and things are tight financially. No mercy was given and it's for that reason I will be finding a different dentist. I've run companies before and customer service and relationships are important to success. Now I'm having to figure out how to get the extra money before starting g my new job after being unemployed for almost 4 months for the the first time in my life. I just wish they would have said "let us talk about it and see what we can do". All I was asking for was for $278.20 to be forgiven and I'd pay the other $500. Not a huge ask for a loyal customer that been going here the last 3 years. read more

they are not a bad dentist, just greedy. i am a vet and after years of waiting to be given a primary care dentist, they sent me to Hunsaker's. at first it was fine, they fixed my teeth and got me partials. but after that the VA would only authorize teeth cleanings because that is all i needed. they decided since the VA wouldn't authorize unnecessary expensive procedures like cosmetic, they didn't want to serve vets anymore if they are not using their own money. if the VA wasn't paying them i would understand, but they were paying them. this is just greed, cant scam the VA for more money so they drop their vets. if they are trying to skim money off vets, what are they doing to their civilian patients? just be aware. read more

I'm not all that pleased with the work I got done here, the customer service or the decisions of Dr. Rabago. I went here twice starting on 10/19, they didn't do a cleaning, but on the first day they did an exam and said I needed scaling and root planing done, which my other office in the last 6 months had not suggested for me. After this procedure, I started experiencing pain, off and on in the same area. By Friday 11/3, I was in 9/10 pain. When I first called the office to ask if they administer pain meds, the receptionist told me no over the phone, then emailed me around and hour later saying they could. This contradiction in itself was a red flag for me. I knew with the amount of pain I was in and how long until I could get a root canal, I'd run out before my root canal appt. The prescription for pain meds was for 3 days worth. When I called back 3 days later to let them know I needed more before my root canal, the receptionist told me that the doctor said I couldn't have more and wanted to "remind me that I could take ibuprofen and Tylenol", which didn't touch the pain. I felt disregarded, not believed, and like they didn't care. Being in that much pain and this office not really giving me any guidance besides originally to go to an ER dentist was discouraging. I don't wish this experience on anybody. After I had a root canal in Portland my pain has gone away completely, but the negative experience from this office has not. At first I thought they were lovely, very friendly and professional. Then the exam started and they pretty much told me I needed over 8K in work and most of my back teeth needed bridges, I needed an extensive cleaning that would take place over three appointments. I had lost my coverage at this time and was freaked out because I never had problems with my teeth before I figured because I hit the 50 mark. Then after I did one of the cleanings inbetween one of my teeth in the front broke and it was jagged and I was horrified. I called to see if they could fit me in for an emeregency and the best they could offer was a week out. I had to go to Sunrise Dental instead who were kind enough to fit me in and I was super impressed. He also did an exam while I was there and told me my teeth were in GREAT shape and I did not need any bridges or extensive cleaning. I was baffled and very sad that Hunsaker obviously was not truthful. I would also like to add that the benefits person at Hunsaker ( I beleive her name was Lori) was the most UNHELPFUL, she told me she had no idea what type of insurance they take because they take so many. I mean what kind of answer is that? I was trying to get inurance and wanted to know which one they accepted and she has no list or information on that? Is that not her job to get and know that? NEVER AGAIN!! I immediately switched to SUnrise and am so glad I did. If my tooth did not break I would be out all that money and did not even need the work. NOT COOL. read more

If you are looking for a new dentist skip over Hunsaker dental as they will lie and bait and switch to get you into an office. They say they can fix your dental crisis but when you get there It is all about 'well we will have to schedule out to fix you problem' then you are supposed to wait 3 weeks for the dental crisis you originally contacted them about. They were recommending high price dental procedures instead of just addressing the basic issue presented to them. Unprofessional, lying staff and so called Dr.s who only want to push high priced unnecessary procedures to pad their bottom line. This office is run very efficiently. The staff are all welcoming an polite. I was going on a long vacation and started having tooth pain. I was no longer in network with my old dentist. I obviously wanted to get it resolved before my trip. I thought I would never find a new dentist get an evaluation and treatment in less than two weeks. Hunsaker Dental staff got me an appointment. I ended up needing a root canal and they helped me get an appointment ASAP. Thank goodness I took care of it before I left. When I returned for my next visit they remembered me and asked me how my trip went. Such a personal and caring office that includes all staff members from the Dr to assistant to reception is hard to find. They are a treasure! I heard good things about Hunsaker Dental through friends, but was impressed with their customer service! Elly at the front desk has the most genuine kindness. The two hygienists I've had experience with Kimberly and Janelle were great. They made it an incredibly great experience for my two year old, who had a practice visit and successful first cleaning. The gift left out on the counter helped motivate my daughter to be on her best behavior. The surprises inside were perfect and show their attention to detail. Dr. Jed the new dentist there had a little of a flat affect but was helpful and good with my daughter. Happy for her to be a patient there and I will likely go there myself! read more

Very happy with the care my family and I receive from Hunsaker Dental. We use the Salem office but I have gone to their Monmouth office once with an emergency.
