I've been going here for a while and I've never really left reviews but this place honestly just sucks like I've gone for a filling and had a whole left in my tooth brought it up and they told me it was fine every single time I try to call and schedule an appointment it's me trying to call Over and over and over for like two weeks straight till I finally get a hold of someone. I got a text, reminding me of an appointment I need to schedule. They told me in the text I could text or call to schedule the appointment. I texted waited a week for them to reply to tell me, I needed to call and they never answer the phone. They only have told me of required paperwork that needed to be signed by my PCP the night before, after business hours, therefore, cancelling my appointment multiple times. Dr. Fairly is soooo nice and listened about any anxiety I was having without making me feel like I just needed to "deal with it." She offered options that would make me feel better about getting my fillings, didn't mind that we needed to reschedule in order to get medication before hand to make it a more pleasant experience for me, her only concern was that I was gonna be comfortable! Awful service and awful staff. Samantha who books appointments is difficult, arrogant and beyond unhelpful. I had an appointment booked today to pick-up a night guard and the office called me at 6:42am and woke me up to let me know that the doctor had to cancel her appointments for today, and they arbitrarily booked me (without my knowledge) for the following Tuesday at 7:30am; I cannot make that appointment, and the next available appointment is 5 weeks away, and the doctor only works 3 days a week and Samantha wouldn't book me with another dentist in the practice (it's not their policy to book a patient with another doctor in the practice). She was snotty and said that I could call her everyday if I wished to see if there was a cancellation that day - really???? Word of advice, they shouldn't be taking new patients if the doctors cancel booked appointments and can't reschedule you for weeks on end. Run very far away from this practice where the dentists work part-time, and you can't see another dentist in the group due to their policy. Samantha also hung-up on me because she didn't want to answer any more of my questions, so I called back and she was very snarky. I asked for the name of her supervisor and she was reticent to provide it, but I did get it and Kimber will be hearing from me. read more

I called Gentle Dental, and the soonest cleaning was four months in advance. The morning of my appointment, they called to cancel due to being understaffed. I've called several times since then, no answer and no response to my voice messages. I'm not sure why this place keeps taking new clients, when they clearly can't handle the client load they have right now. Save yourself the trouble, and go somewhere else. Not only did no one attempt to get a hold of me as they mentioned in their response to my review (wonder if this is the case for all of the other review responses) but my partner had an even WORSE experience with them today. He confirmed his appointment multiple times including the day before his appointment. He then received a call THIS MORNING that cut out. So he called four times throughout the day each time getting a busy signal. He showed up at his scheduled appointment time and was told that they had to cancel his appointment and they didn't have any available cleanings for SIX MONTHS! Said they must be having phone issues. I have had a hard time reaching anyone at the clinic in the past but the Redmond office has helped schedule some appointments for me. My daughter has braces on (put on by Gentle Dental Bend). She broke a bracket on 5/23 and I have not been able to get ahold of anyone at the Bend location since then. I have called everyday, left 3 messages, called Redmond a few times to see if they can help, Redmond said they would send an urgent email and still nothing. If this review was only based off of my experience with Shane... it would be a 5 star! I've had multiple appointments here and at first it was fine but it got progressively worse, Untill I met Shane... this dude helped me out so much! He made me feel like my teeth weren't bad or needed major help, he instructed me with a few easy going tips to help in the future, & on top of that he did exactly the same procedure that two other dentists couldn't do with a steady hand. - He completely made my experience enjoyable & I'll be going back because of Shane! VERY DISAPPOINTED. TOTAL SCAM!!!! Finally after over a year of trying to dispute a bill, I was told that the charge I received for *no work done* was for a consultation. I was never told this was a consultation. To my understanding, I went in on April 2020 to get my wisdom teeth removed, but was told by the dentist that he wanted to reschedule due to COVID. He also told me that he would have rescheduled the appointment over the phone but that he forgot. So you can see why I was surprised to receive a bill for $170. I had also previously been in for a cleaning and regular checkup... which I would have thought was the better opportunity to check out which teeth needed to be pulled. I have since been to a local dentist that told me exactly which teeth needed pulling during my cleaning, and did not charge me a consultation fee for it. The nice woman on the phone took $50 off my bill, but needless to say I will never go to this company again. Plus, I had to call almost 10 times to finally get someone to call me back. I'd give less stars if I could. Billing nightmare and cancelled appointments without notice. On two occasions I drove two hours to Gentle Dental in Bend. When I arrived they had canceled my appointment without contacting me and refused to take responsibility when I arrived. The worst issue is that I've been receiving bills for work they did not do. Calling the office to get the issue cleared up has not helped. They keep telling me they're looking into it and the bills keep coming. Now they're saying they are going to send my bill to a collection agency. This office has leadership and management problems. Avoid it. read more

DO NOT GO HERE unless you like to wait forever and have your teeth messed up. My first complaint is they don't check their voicemail. Like what the fuck. They hardly ever answer their phone, so if they don't check their voice mail how am I supposed to ever get in contact with you? I have a life and can't sit and call you all day til you answer.. red flag #1 for me. They have too many patients for one location so when you have a dental emergency, need a cleaning, filling, etc. you are pushed out at fucking month if not more. I have an exposed nerve since December 15 and they scheduled me out in February 7th. Bull shit! I had a spot in my teeth where food would get stuck which was annoying so I asked Dr. Hallie to look at it. She took a piece of "sandpaper-like floss" (her words, not mine) and made the gap bigger to "help food not get stuck". At that point I started to have deep and sever pain in that specific tooth. Now I need to either have it pulled or a root canal BECAUSE OF WHAT SHE DID. I'm in 10/10 pain. Now I have to switch dental plans and deal with insurance finding an emergency dentist to take care of me. Save yourself the hassle and don't go here. My significant other had no cavities before switching to this office and suddenly when we switched to them they said he had 12 that he needed to fill ASAP. He got some filled, and later got a cleaning. They lady who cleaned his teeth was small with short blonde hair. She tugged at his filling so much that they became loose. No he is is pain from that. What the hell is going on here?? I can't get a straight answer from anyone, and they don't seem to really care what you have to say or ask. They don't tell you if something is covered (like a root canal) because they're too incompetent to get on the phone with your insurance while you're waiting the hour and a half it takes for them to come service you. Dr. Hallie is nice face to face but not as nice on the teeth. I always end up in more pain than before I walked in. Please. Just. Don't. Go. Here. RED FLAGS ALL THE WAY AROUND. Horrible location. The office staff is inept and claim to be using antiquated software. my first appointment, after waiting over a month to see my new dentist, they called the morning of my appointment and canceled it not citing any reason. my rescheduled appointment 3 weeks later they canceled the day before. I was offered the opportunity to see a different dentist, just not the dentist I'd researched and wanted to see. After 7 weeks of waiting to see a dentist they called the day before my second canceled appointment and needed my insurance information immediately - couldn't wait until the next day when I would be there anyway for my appointment. Today I arrived for my dental appointment early as usual and go to check in and I mentioned to the receptionist I was wondering why I did not get a text like I usually do 1 day prior to my appointment. I thought maybe they forgot or they were too busy. I get there and the new receptionist tells me they cancelled my appointment because I did not respond to the message they sent. And I said I did not get any messages and pulled out my phone and double checked and I said again I did not receive any messages from you. Again, she said I did call you and you did not respond would you like to reschedule? She basically blew me off and you have to wait months for a new appointment to reschedule. I make gifts for all the staff when I come and I had a small little mesh bag with little 4th of July hearts and star earrings with the American flag on them. It weighs less than an ounce and measures 3"x 2 1/2" and the earrings are small so you can visualize the size. I tossed them on the counter and they landed on the floor and I said here are your earrings and I left. Gets even better. I get a voicemail from Tracy asking me to call so I do and wait and wait then I hang up. Then she calls back and tells me there is something wrong with my phone and that when she called it said the voicemail has not been activated yet, then she said that it cut her short when leaving her message. So which was it? Funny, I got her whole message and I also had a friend call and leave a long message and my phone is fine. She also said she saw me throw the small gift bag at the receptionist which is not true I tossed it down the middle of the counter 2 feet away from her. So, not going back. I bet if I was a paying customer instead of someone on Medicaid it would have went down differently. You know if the receptionist had of said "oh sorry, I might have called a wrong number let me see when I can get you in as soon as possible" I would have reacted differently. But she did not. She was annoyed with me confronting her and literally did not care at all. Oh, and when you leave a message I do not give my name on the voicemail. This is not good for the rest of the office. I will miss Alicia, great hygienist. Do not bother responding all the bad reviews speak for themselves. And there are so many wonder why???? After working half my life in the medical industry I thought I've seen it all but never have I seen a level of unprofessionalism until today. Even if this is the only dental office your insurance covers please try to find any other place to do your dental work. They have the worst reviews of any dental office in central oregon for good reason! I had a pretty large filling fall out of a back molar so I made a consult with Gentle Dental. Thursday Dr. Montgomery suggested my tooth's cavity cannot be repaired with a filling since it has decayed past the gum line and that a root canal would not be suggested. That pulling it and getting an implant be the best option. Ok - Naturally I wanted to get a second opinion. It has been broken for nearly a month (that's how long it takes to be seen) and I didn't experience any substantial pain until she applied silver fluoride to the tooth. A tooth that had a cavity so deep the gum was exposed. After that I've never experienced so much tooth pain in my life. The next 24 hour was absolutely miserable. I called to see if I could just get it removed like she had suggested. So they set me up for the following Tuesday to have her pull the tooth otherwise they literally suggest I "go to the emergency room". The pain was unbearable I found another dental office in town that had raving reviews to help me late that evening. They didn't have time to pull my tooth so they filled it with a temporary filling. I was told by that dentist its a contraindication to apply silver fluoride to a deep cavity which is why I was in so much pain. After my appointment I did some research - lo and behold you can find that mentioned in nearly every article ever written about silver fluoride. Tuesday comes around, mind you this doctor is about to pull out my tooth so Im not about to be rude but - I did respectfully mention that I had to see another dentist due to the extremity of the pain. I noted to Dr. Montgomery it was mentioned to me (by the other dentist) that it's a contraindication to apply silver fluoride to a deep cavity. I said this as respectfully as you would imagine ANYONE would to another person (let alone a doctor) who is about to pull a molar from your mouth. I was not short with her or disrespectful in fact I thought about not even mentioning it at all but, it was quite obvious that I had some minor work done to my tooth in between visits and it's your doctor. She told me that she was capable of pulling out the tooth but she didn't want to anymore and suggested I go somewhere else or be put on another doctors schedule - she kept repeating that the patient and Doctor trust was broken because of what I mentioned and tried to twist it to make it sound like I had a problem. You guys, like I mentioned above if you have any experience working in the medical field you know a GOOD doctor will tell you to speak openly and honest about your concerns. A good doctor builds confidence in a patient and doesn't shame them because they have any concerns. I didn't get angry with her or upset but walked right out after she told me multiple times I should go see someone else. I've been seen here for a few years for other dental work by other doctors and quiet honestly it's all been pretty rotten experiences but this is the one that made me write a review. I had my first root canal done and have heard plenty of horror stories about them but thanks to Dr. Andrews, Jesse, Brandy and Jennifer I had a beautiful root canal experience. They preformed seamlessly and with great patient care. Dr. Andrews provided excellent procedure and patient instructions. He ensured I was okay throughout my procedure and preformed a phenomenal job on my tooth. Dr. Andrews is an expert with dental care and I give him the highest endorsement. I've shared this with my family and friends but feel compelled to share this with everyone. I have been treated by Dr. Andrews, Dr. Matthews and Dr. McNaughton and have received amazing care from all of the Gentle Dental Dentists. The entire team of professionals who work in the Bend, Oregon office are the best in their field. Can't recommend this dental office at all. Took forever to get appointments for just exam and cleaning. We arrived for 90 min Feb appointments; turned out to be just X-rays and quick exams by dentist. So, didn't get what we were told we'd get, namely teeth cleaned. We were giving new appoints in JUNE for cleaning. We eventually went to another dentist because GD pushed our cleaning appointments out to AUGUST. Staff and Doc were pleasant enough, but uninformative, especially about what our appointment was for. Gave them all our dental insurance info. later received bill for almost $500 for the two X-ray and exam services, with NO insurance billed. Bill came with instructions to call their billing office if issues - Called them 3 times over 3 weeks and left messages each time, NO RESPONSE EVER. Calling local dental office was joke; they never respond. Feel ripped off. So, no, don't go to this dental office! This is where it begins to get frustrating. More than half of the time they don't answer, and instead you're left to leave a voicemail. I scheduled my appt for a checkup and cleaning, in early Jan with the next avail appt not until late April. Worst experience ever! I was tortured by their xray tech. She took over 50 xrays. She used this huge clamp like thing covered with baggies far too big for my mouth size. That thing she used caused several cuts in my mouth. Now if that was not bad enough, as soon as the dentist knew that i was not able to afford implants or a bridge, the tone changed I was told i had to come back for my cleaning that was scheduled for their earliest avail appt Aug 30, then i was quickly rushed out the door. I find it absolutely absurd that a business is allowed to torture, discriminate, and dehumanize their patients this way! Now they have a new dentist and I'm starting over. Cannot continue treatment plan from the first dentist until I meet the new one. So everything is on hold again. My second biggest fear has always been going to the dentist. I have had terrible experiences full of pain, dismissal of my wishes and values, dentists not listening to me, lack of numbing meds, and lack of explanation of procedures. I went into gentle dental due to a painful tooth that I had been putting off for way too long. They took a X-ray and performed some pain tests. I was shaking and crying and full of anxiety, just for the consult. They were so kind and explained every part of what was wrong with my tooth and determined an extraction was necessary. Obviously this freaked me out, when I came in for the extraction appointment I was incredibly panicked. Dr Andrew's and Emily made me feel safe, allowed me to take time to try to calm down, helped me feel in control, and gave me ample laughing gas and novacaine. When they pulled the tooth I felt nothing. This was the first time I have ever had a truly "no pain only pressure" experience at a dental office. I am really satisfied with the extraction team at gentle dental. Although the dentist still feels scary for me, at least I know this office will help me through that stress and trauma. read more

After calling several times, I'm guessing they use a horrible booking service with long holds, dropped calls, different person each time you call, long holds while being transfered, constant repeating of giving your info, rudeness & no compassion to boot. -and that's just for starters. I'm going to skip the other details to save the deadly rise of my blood pressure due to the complete frustration & disappointment of my experience. I'd liken these guys to the Supercuts of the dental world but I don't want to insult Supercuts. I'm going to end by saying now that I've read through the many bad reviews of past patients' experiences, I'm actually grateful & relieved that I dodged-a-bullet by possibly making a horrid experience even worse.
