The hours are somewhat odd, but don't really conflict with most times people would be going out for ramen, and the interior is very small, so sometimes there is a wait just to be seated. This is by far the most authentic Ramen that you can get in the Cincinnati area. The portions are good and the variety is on point.

Genki Ramen is pretty good for the area. Nothing mind blowing but a good option in burbs. I usually go for the spicy Tonkotsu broth. It's rich and robust with a comfortable level of spice. Their miso ramen is decent but not my first choice. Gyoza is average and not something I would buy regularly unless you're really in the mood. Chicken karaage is really tasty - Japanese fried dark meat chicken with sweet chili and spicy mayo on the side, what's not to love? Overall, it's probably the best option for ramen in the Mason area and prices are on par with the market. read more

Please don't go if you have allergies. They do not understand them, even though they confirmed several times a member of our party could eat here. We've tried karaage chicken which was good (light batter served with lemon) , miso ramen and tonkotsu ramen broth was flavorful with good portions of toppings but the noodles considering this place specializes in ramen, it doesn't taste handmade or fresh. I saw this place while driving by and I love trying new ramen. This place though, I tried the Nagoya and Tonkotsu ramen. The Nagoya had a nice chicken flavor that's good for people who are new to ramen and the chicken they put in it was very tender. The Tonkotsu was a nice, rustic, pork broth. Delicious and fairly priced! They have a small menu but that's how you know that ramen is their specialty, they aren't trading quantity for quality. It would be really cool if they could have a cold noodle dish for the summer time as everything on the menu is hot (as it should be). Stopped here after work on a Friday night for carry out. Tonkotsu ramen was delicious. Highly recommend. Friendly staff as well. I also tried the pork pool buns, which were folded, and fresh. A little expensive, in my opinion ($14 for a bowl), but the flavors were worth it. Everything that went into the bowl (Chasu, soft boiled eggs, green onions, bamboo shoots, seaweed, corn) all tased fresh and flavorful. I will say that I added ground pork as an extra protein and did not feel I got very much. I even slurped all the broth down to try and find any I might have missed. As a Japanese person Genki Ramen is just okay. Their food lacks authenticity. Their ramen is good enough and I haven't had everything on their menu but I have been disappointed with what I've had. I can't imagine owners are Japanese since some of their dishes are completely bastardized. I've had couple of their "Rice Bowl" dishes. First of all Chicken Katsu-Don is described as "crispy deep fried prime chicken breast over rice" on their menu which is what "donburi" dishes are suppose to be. It's anything but that. It's fried chicken on a plate and they give you a small bowl of rice on the side. Secondly "Katsu" means pork and "don" is short for donburi which is a large bowl. The curry chicken rice bowl dish I had first time was same, deconstructed at best. Their food is not bad, it's just that what I have had just wasn't the way it should be. I was disappointed. It reminds me of other Asian restaurants that think they can serve sushi because they're an Asian restaurant, many have no clue what it's supposed to really be. I'm sure many of their customers are fine with their food because they don't know any better. read more
