I love ramen - I've eaten it quite a few times in the US and Japan. It's always struck me as a dine-in only dish because of the way that the ingredients typically come together, so I've been hesitant to try take-out ramen during COVID. I have to say that, it turned out much better than I expected. Genki smartly keeps the ingredients and broth separate for take-out, allowing you to combine them at home. We ordered the spicy tonkotsu and spicy miso with karaage as an appetizer. The spicy tonkotsu was very solid - good spice level and yummy umami. The spicy miso was decent - we both preferred the spicy tonkotsu. The karaage was great and surprisingly hot and crispy for surviving a 20 minute drive home. We'll look forward to trying some of Genki's other menu items, but in the meantime, Genki is definitely a respectable contender in Cincy's small ramen scene. We'll be back read more

If you're looking for a casual ramen spot this is the place to go! The food is plentiful and service is straight forward. The appetizers are also worth a try. Their fried chicken is delicious with their house made batter, tempura shrimp although pricy is crispy and fresh, and even their teriyaki rice bowl is a great dish if you don't prefer ramen. Finally got a chance to try Genki after seeing it pop up on my google maps search for ramen. Finally, a convenient restaurant that offers ramen. Even better, it's delicious! I did not sit down inside (Thanks Covid!), but the entire staff was wearing masks, and sanitzer was available. Did not pay close enough attention, but I think the cooks were wearing gloves as well. Inside, the dining area looked a little small, but clean. If I remember correctly, the property used to be a cupcake bakery, so the small size is understandable. Took only 15 minutes for my call-in order to be ready for pickup. Food was hot, and the ramen broth was included in its own bowl to be added when I got home. The broth is definitely delicous, great pork flavor. If you like some heat, get the spicy tonkotsu. The takoyaki tasted great, but be sure to eat it quickly and when it's still hot. I let mine cool off too much, and the takoyaki got a little soggy to eat. Definitely recommend to try this place out. Carryout was fast, efficient, and hot. Staff were polite and friendly. While searching out a new burger experience- it was just fate that brought me to Genki Ramen! Thankfully, the fates are still "ever in my favor!" I am always up for a nice bowl of ramen - the experience takes me back to a special trip to Tokyo and to a time when my family lived in Japan. If you haven't guessed part of my heritage is Asian, specifically Japanese. The other half likes to hang out at Irish Pubs! My own tastes usually make it extremely hard for most places serving Asian food of any kind to meet my expectations. Let me assure you - Genki Ramen is great! I had the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen - which was probably a three or four in the spicy scale. They do have togarashi - a five spice combo that will allow you to send up some sparks or just flame on! The soup broth really took me back to a street corner in Tokyo huddled over a steaming bowl of ramen that just sang all the way down - the noodles were cooked perfectly too! I had the gyoza appetizer- the veggie option. Not a big fan of chicken pot stickers since they have a mealy texture - pork, shrimp or veggies. The appetizer was a nice starter - no mustard or wasabi was available but the chili oil and togarashi helped add some contrast to the soy vinegar dipping sauce. I thought the fried chicken cutlet and curry was spot on - the mildness of the curry was perfectly Japanese. Much different from the rich blend of spices you find in the curry of other Asian cultures. I could've eaten the curry with a straw, that's how good it is - with rice of course! This is a nice spot to visit for lunch or dinner - it was a beautiful day to sit out on their patio furniture outside. The one star deduction is due to the limited space - four seats at the bar and six tables - very reminiscent of the elbow to elbow dining experience of Ramen bars in Tokyo - but, if they get a rush - you'll be waiting! Genki Ramen is pretty good. From the ramen places I've tried Genki would come in second place for me. Their Ramen is seasoned well and full of plenty ingredients. I'm starting to realize ramen can be good. I'm not a big fan of soup and have always avoided ramen because I don't like soup or watery dishes. However the older I get, ramen is growing on me. I also respect ramen places that give you enough ramen fillings and it's not just mainly broth. I've only been here once and ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen. This ramen consisted of original miso broth topped with bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, Soft Boiled Seasoned Egg, green onions, corn, chive, wakame seaweed with Stir Fried Minced Pork. This ramen was very tasty and flavorful. Of course it had spicy oil in it to make it spicy. Overall, I don't have any complaints. I will surely be back. read more

I am SO happy that there is now authentic ramen available north of downtown. We lived in Japan for over ten years, and this is the real deal! I was shopping in the area and noticed their sign next to the road and had to try it!! I ordered to go, and the waitress/hostess was polite and friendly. (Posted pics of the menu.) I was so excited that I ordered more than I could eat! Ordered the takoyaki ($6), the chicken karaage ($6), and the original genki tonkotsu ramen ($14). The takoyaki were good sized topped with bonito flakes and served with two dipping sauces. I preferred the traditional takoyaki sauce. This transported me back to Japan! (actually it all did!) The karaage was crispy and tender inside, also served with two side sauces. I loved the spicy mayo that had a nice little kick. My ramen was also delicious! There was a good amount of ramen noodles, bamboo shoots, sprouts, corn, green onions, and half a soft boiled egg. There were also slices of bbq pork that were moist and tender. Maybe the noodles are better than the rice bowl in reading the reviews. The chicken curry rice bowl was gross. It came with a salad next to the chicken so when I got it home the salad was hot. The chicken was lemon flavored which when combined with the curry sauce conflicted with the flavors. The rice was over cooked and gooey. The only redeeming part of the meal was the curry sauce. It was very good. Also for the price the amount of food was not worth it. The rice bowl was literally chicken rice and sauce. No veggys. I had high hopes for this place. Noticed this ramen shop while shopping around, decided to drop in for some lunch with my fiance and boy are we glad we did! I've been waiting for ramen place to open up around here! Genki is a small restaurant with only about 4-5 tables and some counter seating. Service is fast and the food came out fresh and hot. The tonkotsu broth is nice and flavorful, and they really put a ton of noodles in your bowl. Although I wish they had a little more variety in their ramen dishes. Most of them all have the same filling, just different broth options. We also got the pork buns and fried soft crab and those were stellar. Spicy tonkatsu ramen is excellant and fairly close to authentic taste. the curry chicken was surprisingly tasty, medium spice and the chicken itself is fried properly where it is not dry. This is when it was not busy. I am so not a fan of the salad. Its bitter and the dressing has no taste?? It was with the curry chicken so when I got it home it was wilted from the heat as it was packed together. Reminds me of bitter brussel sprouts of whatever greens they are using. After ordering 4 times more, the inconsistencies started. They did get busier however this is, in my opinion, the downfall of any place. My rice was missing from one of the orders. My curry chicken curry is watered down in taste. The yakiniku jyu beef short ribs were sooo tough to chew. Ramen was good but on occasion it was overly salty. At nearly $14/dish I would expect some kind of consistency of taste. We hope it will improve as it was very good when we first came. read more

Recently moved to Mason and get some information on the Internet and knew this spot. This spot serve great meal kits and the best ramen i have ever had in this state.
