Steak bowl
Missy K.

This review is overdue because I usually get delivery from here, but I dined in today and was so pleased. I had a steak bowl and it was so fresh. Steak was tender and not grisly. Perfect cook on the veg. 2 large containers of sauce. Ton of food for $12. They get an extra bonus bc they don't charge a ton or inflate prices for delivery. I love this place!!

GenjiGo is consistently good. Other places can be hit and miss, but I've never had a bad meal or experience here. Food is served fast, it's hot, it's usually fresh made or just recently made. Staff is friendly. This is one of my go to spots.

Chicken and Steak with steamed rice, bean sprouts, zucchini, onions and ginger sauce.

It's been awhile since I ate here. Seems to have improved the protein quantity. In the past I barely received any steak and the rice was excessive but now it is reasonably balanced. Ginger sauce is ok and not my favorite. The steak and chicken is well done and so are the vegetables. The steak like most Asian restaurants suffers a little, it is a little chewy but still flavorful and easy to bite through. Chicken is also well done and flavorful. I wish they offered Dr. Pepper and fountain drinks but they suspended the fountain drinks and seating due to COVID. Take out only, bottled drinks and hand made drinks only. Overall not bad and a big improvement from when I last visited a few years ago.

I have went by this place many times and figured It wouldn't be good because it was as "express." However, I decided to try it and I was pleasantly surprised that it was very good. Just as good as going to a hibachi where you watch them cook it. The yum yum sauce tastes so much better than other places I've been it is truly yummy. The dining room was bigger and nicer than I expected from the outside. I would go back.

Chicken gengi bowl with yum yum sauce

I love Japanese stir fry food but...I feel like this place is lacking something just can't put my finger on it. And yes I am aware that its not a typical gengi sit down restaurant but it just has that "welcome to McDonald's" feel to it

Steak bowl with zucchini and white rice and ginger sauce

We decided for the new years eve week to do a roadtrip to Columbus area and husband researched and wanted to check out. Really like the concept of picking white or fried Rice and then a grilled veggie and meat. They offer yum yum or ginger sauce .. the meat was fresh and really liked the grilled steak and husband was happy with the chicken like the concept and hope they pop up in summit county, ohio.

Does not taste like going to a real Japanese steakhouse!
J M.

Chicken was dry and not fresh. Veggies were not fresh made either but ok. Fried rice was just rice with a few carrot slivers, barely any egg in it:( all in all was just ok not like going to a Japanese steakhouse at all so a little disappointed. Maybe if was just made and fresh would have been decent. Go to Sakura near Easton for a few bucks more at lunch you get a fabulous authentic meal

Overpriced at open, the quality has gone down and the price has gone up. Hard, undercooked rice and bland flavors.

I got in on one of their lunch time specials. I had a salad, rolls, butter, steak tips, mashed potatoes with gravy, ice water, in a mostly comfortable restaurant with an actual server for $10 (plus tax). That's less than most fast food meals. The steak tips were overcooked but still a bit juicy and tender. The server was new but pleasant and trying. The "suggested tip" percentages was calculated on the food and tax total..... Off street parking was adequate, place was clean inside and out. While nothing to go out of one's way for, no real reason to avoid it either.

The service was frantic at best. I don't know if our server had too many tables or maybe had too much "caffeine" that day, but she came by and sort of drop things off in a hurry as she ran to her next task. The food was a salad C minus. The steak was technically cooked properly however it was supposed to come with a grown jalapeño which they were out of so they brought pickled jalapeños instead, it was also supposed to come with grilled zucchini which they were out of. It was also served some sort of cheesy rice sandwich basically was like Rice-A-Roni with some cold Parmesan cheese thrown into it. I ordered the ribs, which were just OK.

I have to say, the baked potato was one of the better baked potatoes I've ever had. It was just perfect, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and it tasted really good. I told the server, whatever you're doing, and wherever you're getting those potatoes from, don't change a thing. The baked potato was just perfect. I had a hamburger that was also very delicious. I did ask for the sauce on the side, and I'm glad I did, because I didn't love the sauce, but the burger itself was just plain outstanding. Really delicious. It was perfectly cooked and had a nice smoky undertone. I don't usually love salads, but my salad was crisp, delicious, and made just the way I like it. The tomatoes were especially fresh and good for this time of year. The server was very attentive. I know she had a lot of tables, but she took care of me perfectly. Serving sizes are large, and I should also add that the bread is really, really good and comes out hot with real butter. Honestly, when I get margarine in a restaurant, that's a big knock for me. I know butter costs a little more, but it makes a big difference. The bread was perfectly cooked, soft on the inside with a nice little bit of a crunch to it. I'd characterize it as kind of a wheat bread with maybe a little bit multi-grains added in... but it was pretty standard wheat but very delicious. Normally I complain abour beverages that cost three dollars and fifty cents... the truth be told the overall price was reasonable for the meal as a whole.

Impressive Bar and BBQ Place…read more I stopped into Smokey Bones after seeing a few locations during my travels. I was curious about the food and the vibe and decided to give the Grove City Ohio location a try. Smokey is a commercial chain of Barbecue restaurants around the USA serving up their versions of classic barbecue dishes. I was seated very quickly and my server came to my table very quickly. I told them that this was my first visit and they helped me choose starters and my main course. Each table at Smokey Bones has an assortment of barbecue sauces that you can try to see which one or ones you like. I started my meal with a cup of chili and the Korean Pork Belly Pops which is slow-cooked, tender pork belly, flash-fried until it's crispy and then topped with Smokey Bones Korean BBQ sauce. These pops were flavourful and more filling than I thought which left me with only a smaller portion option for my main course. I then ordered the Texas-style beef Brisket Platter that comes with two sides. The Brisket was moist and tender with a good amount of smokiness permeating through the meat. My sides were fire-roasted corn and Barbecue baked beans. Both sides were a great compliment to my meal. I was impressed with the place, the alcohol selection, the vibe, the service and the food as well. I most likely will try Smokey Bones again in another city to see how it compares to the Grove City location.

We arrived right at 5 pm on a Friday night. It was a few minutes before they could seat us (party…read moreof 2). Then it was a while before the bartender was able to get our drink orders. She was great, tried to check in as much as she could, etc. but they were clearly understaffed and she had tables all over the place as well as the bar. It took about 80 minutes from entering to leaving, and we placed our food order with our drink order. We also ate pretty quick, as we had plans at 7 pm. My mom enjoyed her ribs very much, and the portion sizes are generous. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese with potato wedges on the side. It tasted good, but wasn't anything special. I did like the Chipotle bbq sauce.
