I have come here multiple times and I must say it was good. Now I have ordered many different dishes. Also I know Ecuadorian food, my parents are from Ecuador and I have visited Ecuador myself. I have gotten the seafood soup, my niece usually orders beef and rice and beans. My sister and mom usually get the bollo and I got the cazuela. Now the bollo de pescado is always good but the cazuela was not good; it was too watery and the consistency was not what I am use to. I have also had the encellado which was good. I also had the naranjilla juice and the tostones. The service is always good and chifles are always delicious. They give you some rice as a table offering. I plan to try the whole menu and will update the review as I try their dishes. So far, the only bad dish has been the cazuela.

Finding authentic Ecuadorian food in Manhattan is HARD. This place nails it, right down to having manzana in the fridge. The prices are affordable and the vibe is comfortable and casual. This isn't a super formal place and I've never needed a reservation. I don't even think they take reservations.

Love going to Genesis for authentic Ecuadorian food. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. I get the Ceviche de Pescado encurtido every time I go, it's a sour dish that goes well with white rice and tostones. I've been going here since I was a toddler and can honestly say everything taste amazing.

Best Ecuadorian restaurant in Manhattan I had a escudo, bollon de maduro mixto, and black Berry juice (mora) excellent food taste fresh and authentic. If you live in Manhattan no need to go to queens any more this spot is legit. The service is also great. If I had to say a negative thing was that it gets super busy so wait times can be long

The best Ecuadorian food I ever had in NYC, since the Isla Galapagos Restaurant was in Queens in the 80's, the other restaurants are just business, this is the real thing!! Food and services are amazing! My friends and I were very happy to had found this place, from bolon, Empanada de verde, corvina frita, chaulafan, caldo de bola, seco de Chico, the best quaker I ever had since I left guayaquil. Congratulations to the owner and the people who work there! Thank you for making our Two days in a row a delicious dinner break! M

For an Ecuadorian living in the US it's hard to find delicious authentic Ecuadorian food, but this place tasted like home. Absolutely loved the food, casual environment, and friendly staff. Wish I had a place like this close to home.

I'm Ecuadorian and I really love the food of this place. I had a shrimp ceviche and it was really good. The service was good too

The cheese sticks are a must when you visit. They are perfectly breaded, fried golden, crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. They come out hot, stretchy, and exactly what you want late at night. Their empanadas? Fire. The beef is juicy and packed with flavor, the chicken one is tender and well-seasoned, and that pink sauce... yeah, that sauce is elite. Creamy, tangy, with just enough kick to make you keep dipping until it's gone. I also ordered the chicken cachapa -- soft, slightly sweet corn pancake, stuffed generously and cooked just right. It's comforting, filling, and hits different when you're craving something authentic. Also on a late night on Dyckman, doesn't get better than this. The juices are fresh and refreshing, the perfect balance to everything savory. Service is quick and straight to the point, exactly what you need whether you're grabbing takeout or sliding into one of the small tables to eat in. The spot itself is small and cozy, no-frills, real neighborhood vibes all day. Overall, this is a classic Dyckman late-night Venezuelan staple. Great food, quick service, and flavors that always come through. If you know, you know.

This was a really good sandwich. I also picked me up some green sauce to go. Customer service was good, I was allow to sample a drink called Papelon and it quite refreshing. I would definitely visit this place again for more dishes that I'm not familiar with. I'm giving thumbs up and Happy Yelping!

Upon arrival, it was not what I thought from reviews and pictures. Las Palmas was also listed as being open late, so I crossed the street to check it out. This was more in line with what I was thinking. Unfortunately, the posted hours are incorrect. Instead of having an hour to sit and be served, I had ten minutes to order take out. The interior was cute and I can imagine people here for a date or eating with the family. I decided to go with tacos. An order of fish and one birria. There are three tacos to an order for $16. I think that may be slightly costlier than nearby establishments, but not by much. I worried about the state my tacos because I had a ways to travel. But my concern was for naught. The bag and food were so considerately packed, nothing spilled. Including the consommé in a cup for the birria. Having the first fish taco, made me instantly decide I want to try this hot and fresh! It has a heaping serving of pico and a slice of avocado on top. My one complaint is that I needed more fish. Not sure if that's an accurate grumble or just me being late night hungry/greedy. I warmed the consommé a little before dipping the tacos. The onion and cilantro taste was perfect. The meat was well seasoned and melty good. Not fatty or tough like other birria I've had. I would absolutely return to this spot and try more of the menu
