My husband and i are first time parents looking for child care. I am hesitant about having someone take care of my newborn who isn't me. But we are just starting to see our options. The generations child care was our first nursery tour scheduled. We arrived today - and the front desk receptionist was very nice. She offered us a seat while we waited for the director, Tammy, to show. In the lobby right by the front door is the waiting room. We went to go sit and i realized the garbage can was over flowing with bugs crawling / flying all around. Instantly I was disgusted. Before our tour - i asked about price and realized they don't offer the part time care we are looking for at this location. I was secretly happy. Before we left - i told Tammy about how i am a first time mom and i am already nervous about bringing my baby to childcare and the garbage was over flowing and covered in crawling bugs. (As a fruit fly proceeded to fly past her head). I told her it skeeved me out and was a very bad first impression. Then i asked how often are the garbage changed? All she had to say was "daily" with a half smirk on her face. She didn't apologize for the fact that the facility she runs was disgusting. She didn't have any sympathy. She honestly didn't even act like she cared. First impressions are very important. And the cleanliness & Manors of the director - made me never want to let my child step foot in this place. You want me to pay you $800 a month and you can't even clean out your garbage cans??? I think not! Hope all the rest of the nurseries we look at arn't like this dump. read more

Generations Child Care - St. Johns - Gross!!!!!! - Child Care & Day Care Near Me - Rochester, New York

I would like to write this in reguards to the irondiquoit location of generations upk program room .. my grandson went there from sept 2023 to April 2024 6 mos and in the beginning we have it a chance as this was a child that would get his services at this location thru the school district all of that was good .. thank you city school district but the center it self was not good including the director that doesn't communicate very cell different helpers in the classes what they call teachers no they are NOT .. they were not nice to my grandson everyday was a here ya go report all bad never good remind you my grandson is 3! on April 11 th my daughter got a call to come get him he's having a breakdown meltdown whatever ...my daughter came to pick him up not one time did my daughter get a incident report from the director of irondiquoit generations not a call not a called meeting Nothing!!! and when my daughter went to pick baby up there was no teacher in classroom whom had the incident with my grandson she was no where in sight but yet director was .. yes there's a piece to this puzzle missing this daycare failed my grandson and neglected him in too many ways neglected his education from April 11th to April 24 th the more I write the more this upsets us as we do have a lawyer aboard this is a horrible center especially if your a parent that don't want your child coming home sooo hungry and with a soaked diaper on a daily bases this I promise you do not send your child here the director needs to be held accountable for her actions not being handled and turning her head to a child that has special needs shame on her and her 2 helpers that were in that room when whatever happened that we still have no answers this is not where you want your child I promise you it's very disturbing and action needs to be taken in this center ! I don't care if director has been there 16 yrs she needs to be done like today .. parents please please listen to your child advocate for your child this is just another day in that peek program in this center and this will not be closed until the story is over and we're asking for director to resign for her actions that were not professional and she failed to communicate with family on why she ignored the entire issue and never reached out to family and allowed this child to neglect his services shame on her and her helper ( what they call teachers but are not) we will continue to advocate as we love this child so very much .. read more

Teachers are excellent and good with the kids, but as far as daycare I would not send my child. Staff keeps quitting because they are underpaid and mistreated. Management does not give you straight answers and no one knows who is in charge most of the time. Things apparently are out of control and the mix of after school care for kids is horrible. You'll see 10-12 year old kids approx 120 lbs mixed in with 5 year old (maybe 40 lbs) in the same room being run over. Last summer we witnessed 5 or 6 kids being given an iPad to entertained themselves and fight over it because they do not have enough staff to care for all of them.
