I loved being able to spend time in the classroom, getting to know my child's friends and having an active role in his preschool experience. We met phenomenal people who have become treasured friends during our time at PUNS...it really is a special community and a place where your child is sure to thrive!

At PUNS, we share Piaget's belief that children learn by doing and that play is the work of childhood. We strive to teach the "whole child" through educational instruction and play-based learning throughout all of our classrooms, including enrichment courses that enable children to expand on interests in STEM, literature, art, music and more. Children are further engaged in hands-on learning through educational centers that change throughout the year, dedicated gross motor time, our large, fenced-in playground and the PUNS Garden. We offer small class sizes, experienced teachers and flexible cooperative options to enable parents to work and learn in the classroom alongside their child(ren). We pride ourselves in being an allergy-friendly school. At PUNS, our goal is to encourage every child to enjoy their preschool experience, develop positive feelings about themselves, engage in creative play that encourages new friendships, and prepare themselves for the next steps in their educational journey.

I want to preface this review with the fact that I've had two different experiences with this…read moreschool once in 2015/2016 and then again 2023. My daughter attended back in 2015 and we had no complaints. We ended up moving from Rochester so pulled her out. But I'm her time there she learned so much and her teachers were great and Gary was so accommodating and welcoming. So much so that I raved to everyone how great the Goddard school was. Fast forward to 2023 we unexpectedly moved back to Rochester so I decided to put my son into the Goddard schools prek program so he would be prepared for kindergarten next year. Being that I knew the facility and my daughter thrived there I figured it would be a great choice for my son. Everything was going great up until they unexpectedly let go of my sons teacher. She was the only teacher that kept me in the loop as to what was going on with him during the day or anything they were working on with him. Once she left I stopped getting papers home of work they were doing, no more art work coming home really.. no more daily reports of how he was doing. Then I had a problem with another child in the class repeatedly putting their hands on my son. The teachers in the class only reported to me once what happened and it wasn't until after Alejandro started telling me when I asked why he was crying. To me it felt like they were trying to hide what happened because I don't understand why you wouldn't come right to me to tell me what had happened. I brought the concern to Lisa in the office and she let me know they were aware of the child being "handsy". But that she would speak with the classroom teachers to see what was going on and that I'd hear back from her about what she finds out. WEEKS ago by and I never heard back. Christmas break came and I was called to pick Alejandro up because he was crying and didn't want to eat. It was inconvenient but whatever. I got him and asked why he was crying and he told me he fell on the playground and hit his nose. I'm more sure why this couldn't be handled by the teachers or why I wasn't told that's why he was crying... but after that whole incident combined with everything else including the fact that half way through the year he still hasn't been taught to write his name or how to spell it which are both needed for entering kindergarten I decided that I was better off sending him elsewhere or simply just keeping him home to make sure he was learning what was needed of him to enter kindergarten. I brought this up to Gary, and he apologized and said I'd hear from Lisa or Carrie in the office to find out what happened. That was December 29th.. by January 11th I never heard back and this included me coming in to the center to get Alejandro's items on the 2nd. No one cared to ask, no one cared to try to rectify the situation.. Gary made excuses that they had a lot of illness going on or that they were dealing with "enrolled parent issues".. which was kinda insulting considering we were enrolled when issues were brought up yet nothing was done about it. So why were my concerns never being addressed? To say I'm disappointed and displeased with our experience is an understatement. It's irresponsible and a liability to knowingly allow a child to remain in a class to continuously put their hands on other students. I have two more kids that I would have sent here in the coming years but no longer can trust this facility and their faculty to do the right thing or to be trust worthy. Normalize I wouldn't sit and bash a business like this especially after the history, but I also find it important for other parents that are considering to send their kids here to know the potential problems they may encounter. Just seems that over the years the level of care and customer service with issues has declined. Which is unfortunate.

Since ownership changed earlier this year, we have noticed many changes to the environment of this…read moreschool from it's physical appearance, the happiness of the staff and the general family-friendly feel that it once had. We were once greeted with a smile from staff and ownership alike when entering the building to pick up our children. There are many great teachers who work here but there is something that has changed in their demeanor and attitudes that is noticeable.

However I feel there's a good consistency in the teachers there. They keep "floating" teachers there to a minimum, so it's almost always one of her regular teachers at pick up and drop off. There are good programs to keep the little ones busy. I believe there's a regularly schedule rotation of art and music teachers that rotate through the rooms. They also have a surprisingly robust (and newly renovated) outdoor space and playground for the various rooms. My 2 year old spends a lot of time exploring outdoors in a safe and contained space, which I think is a good thing. CCB does a good job of communicating any changes in schedule, staff and events. It's a relatively big place, but seems to well-organized. They also provide food which is a plus, since meal prepping for our little one was a big time sink and also probably less healthy. Overall I would highly recommend CCB and wouldn't hesitate to send another child there in the future.

She would frequently go out of her way to see old teachers and say hello to the friendly staff. CCB did everything they could to help our child adapt and grow while there. Any time we had questions the staff and teachers worked together to improve the situation. Besides the excellent care, the facilities and programs were excellent and never felt tired. We felt everyone there was proud to help the center be at its best. People clearly were proud to do the right thing and maintain the reputation that CCB earned over the decades.
