I was trying to purchase an item from a locked display case, but the cashier told me she didn't have the key and had to call the store manager. After the call, instead of helping resolve the issue, she told me to go to Customer Service and find the manager myself. I waited about 10 minutes in the line at Customer Service, only to be told the manager wasn't there. After waiting another 10 minutes, the store manager finally showed up. Twenty minutes wasted just to buy a locked item. What made the experience even more frustrating was the impression that only the manager had the authority to unlock the case and complete the sale. Then what is the use of the lazy lady in front of the locked cage? It felt as though customers were expected to wait indefinitely for someone acting like a VIP simply because they held the key. The lack of organization, accountability, and basic customer service was unbelievable. If you're going to lock up merchandise, at least have a process in place that allows customers to make a purchase without wasting their time. This experience was unacceptable.
