K D.

The short version; Had my 70 Jaguar XKE for 1 year. During that time didn't ever give us an estimate. (As required by law I found out.) Tried to keep our $800 deposit even though they didn't fix it. Took advantage of my grief and ignorance and kept our money. The full version; I inherited my dads 70 Jaguar XKE after his death. He trusted this shop (I learned they changed owners later) so I did too. HUGE MISTAKE. In my grief the mechanic- Dean offered to come to my parents garage and tell me what needed to be done for $100 cash. May 6,2021 He agreed to take on the car- which hadn't been driven for 10 years. His shop held the records and he was supposedly an expert. He seemed nice enough. June 26, 2021 I towed the car under Deans direction to their shop and spent almost $200. I was told they had a backlog of customers and they would get to me. July I was called while out of town and asked for $800 deposit to begin work which I gave by credit card over the phone thinking I would receive a diagnostic. This was the last call I ever got from this shop. October I asked for an update and his wife who runs the phones said they couldn't find parts. What parts? I don't know. Never got a diagnostic, nor an estimate. Don't know what parts. February I called again and got the same answer. A little ruder this time. April I finally could see out of the haze of grief from my loss and started educating myself. I found not one but two shops who could find me parts right now. I learned that they are supposed to give me an estimate (my stupidity and grief- I didn't even have a receipt for my deposit). Finally I found a new shop and towed the car out of theirs. When I went in to settle the $ she tried to keep all $800. She had created an invoice which included a radiator that "they took out and put back in" without replacing that cost $350. Conveniently her ridiculous invoice totaled our exact deposit. She absolutely tried to rip me off in the end. We received only $322 back from our deposit and that was only after a very strong confrontation that involved my husband. $400 to tow it to them and from their shop to now have it safely back in my garage. I have a new thermostat and some replaced hoses (which I supplied to them) to show for that amount. Plus a lot of tears and frustration. DO NOT BRING YOUR CLASSIC CAR TO THEM. They will prioritize other cars, it will sit indefinitely, and try to swindle you. I am with a reputable shop now and the difference is shocking. STAY AWAY from here. The front desk lady is ready to take advantage and screw you.

Dean & Kerri have helped me twice now with my Jaguar E-Pace, and both experiences have been honest, professional, and incredibly reassuring.

I found them to be very honest and fair pricing (not the cheapest, but quality work). What has prompted me to write this review today is the experience I had with Justin on the phone a couple of days ago. My husband and I recently purchased a 2022 Hyundai Sonata. While looking through the owner's manual we noticed that this car specifically recommends spark plug replacement at 40,000 miles. We just hit that and and not wanting to void our warranty we called to arrange a spark plug replacement. To note, I could have done this myself, but again I don't want to give Hyundai any reason to say the engine failed due to improper maintenance. When I called to inquire about pricing, Justin immediately told me I don't need to change them this early. He then proceeded to tell me that Hyundai just recommends this to get people to spend more money. He told me he used to work for them and it isn't the spark plugs that is the problem with their engines but rather a rod. Look, I appreciate someone trying to save me money, but I also believe that when a car is still under warranty manufacturer recommendations should be followed. I probably would not have written this review except I saw Mary K's review and have to agree that Justin seems to have some kind of bias against Hyundai. I know their GDI engines were not great, but this is a newer model and it has a turbo engine and I was just trying to do what was right for the car. I ended up making the appointment with another trusted mechanic.
