Thanks to Pat, we had a great date night tasting really unique and delicious wines. The food -- Chinese inspired-- was really good too. I recommend the tea egg. 10/10 will be back.

Smiling, she said, "Let's celebrate with Spanish tapas." So the beautiful day began with milk tea and chocolate before we headed to the newly opened restaurant Fat of the Land for their Mother's Day brunch, conveniently located on North Main Street in Santa Ana. I later found out it was a special Sunday brunch created just for Mother's Day. Thanks to my daughter's reservation, we were seated right away. The menu selection was smaller than usual, probably because of the special brunch menu, but every tapas dish sounded delicious. We ordered the Castelvetrano olives, Galician smoked paprika octopus, French steak tartare, and Basque cheesecake, paired with a Fiero Spritz and Red Sangria. Both the octopus and steak tartare were outstanding. The Galician smoked paprika octopus was tender, flavorful, and carried just the right hint of spice. The French steak tartare was served on crispy toasted bread with cheese sprinkled on top -- a creative and delicious twist on a classic dish. Fat of the Land truly feels like a hidden gem, and I had such a wonderful time celebrating Mother's Day with my daughter there.

The sangria was super delicious, not overly sweet, which we liked. We ordered the arepo plate which was devoured instantly. - good appetizer to start. Next up was the octopus, pork peppers, shrimp and cheesecake. The shrimp tasted fishy and not my favorite. Octopus was good... decent. Mushrooms were fine. Cheesecake was passable. Over the sangria, arepo plate and pork peppers were the best thing of the night. Staff was very friendly, the setting was intimate. Overall good dinner.

A much needed return visit and another hit. We recommend the Smashburger ($25) and Brisket Barbacoa…read moreTacos ($16). The Smashburger reminded me a one of the best cheeseburgers ever. It was ground fresh and had lots of flavor. The Barbacoa has kick. Note to wine lovers: we opted for the $25 bottle of "Summer Love" Pinot Noir wine. It's not what you'd expect from a Pinot Noir. This wine is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc. As such, it's light and funky. We enjoyed it while the table next to us sent theirs back.

I came across a YouTube video about Le Hut Dinette a couple weeks ago, and finding out that it was…read morethe sister restaurant of Heritage Barbecue, it was a must try since I loved Heritage at the times I went. So, I came here on a Saturday night with a reservation for 5 people and it was an interesting experience to say the least! I really liked the retro diner vibes and the place looked pretty sleek. However, when it came to ordering (which I was eyeing the beef ribs for 2), and the first thing our server told us was that it was sold out. For peak dinner hours, to run out already on a popular dish at 7:30 is disappointing to say the least. So, I had to audible to the tri tip roast, which was good at least, but it was not like the beef ribs that I have tried from Heritage Barbeque a while back. It was also weird that they also ran out of chicken too, which one of the couples at the that table wanted, so they had to switch to the pork belly. Luckily, the dishes we ordered were all good...but it just felt weird to me that they ran out of some food already and it wasn't even near closing. That's like me going to In N Out wanting a double double, only for them to be like "sorry, you are going to have to opt for only a hamburger" instead. I would like to give Le Hut Dinette another chance since I have tried Heritage in the past and the barbecue is bomb, but I honestly did not expect them to have inventory issues at prime dinner hours. The server apologized for the issues due to their early afternoon rush and for how busy they were, but that still didn't really make up for the unavailability of the beef ribs. Perhaps I'm salty because I legit drove an hour down from LA to the OC for a product that I didn't even get to try (with a reservation!) So the final verdict, food was good and the service was nice, but not being able to order the beef ribs and some other dishes unfortunately made what could have been a 5 star experience into something of a 3-3.5 star experience.

You can tell it's been thoughtfully curated, and the staff really knows how to guide you through it. The pairings are intentional and elevate the entire experience, not just an afterthought. The ambiance is top-notch, effortlessly stylish, warm, and the kind of place that works just as well for a date night as it does for a relaxed night out with friends. And the food... the pork belly taco was absolutely mind-blowing. Perfectly balanced, rich without being heavy, and executed with real attention to detail. This is one of those places where everything, from service to wine to food; comes together seamlessly. Definitely a standout.

Instead, I called them and they were able to accommodate that change. Since, Bar Tinto is in WIP, we know that parking here sucks. So come early for parking, luckily they were able to hold our table. This review is for Jonathan Garcia's menu. Kushi oysters were served with a lime mignonette already in the oyster shell. Oysters tasted fresh and good quality. The ribeye vampiro was served on a corn tortilla, with a sheet of cheese, and balanced salsa. I was expecting nice thick chunks of ribeye, but it was a thin crispy slice. I enjoyed the dish, but I was hoping for more. I tried my friend's pork belly taco and it's delicious. The fattiness was decadent. I wish I ordered one for myself. In addition, as a wine bar I would expect a wider variety of wines. They are knowledgeable about the 5 wines on the menu. It's ironic facing a wall of wines, but only able to sip on 5 varietals and some spritz options. However, the desserts were delicious and I recommend saving room for both of them. Unfortunately, I would not return here. The customer service was attentive, but kitchen is slow. If you do decide to come here, then I suggest you practice patience or come here on a date with someone you really like. Also, check their IG for an updated menu, since it probably changes often.
