I don't write reviews often, but felt the need ease others' worries in making the decision of choosing a company for home euthanasia of their pet. It's been about a week since we put our dog down and my heart still hurts so much. Dr. Gonzalez was so kind and gentle throughout the whole process. She explained everything to us before starting, talked us through each step as we went, and gave us the time to grieve, and spend our last moments with him. We are so happy we chose to do this is the comfort of our own home. I would not want to go through that in a vet office. After he'd passed, she was so gentle wrapping his body in a soft blanket and placing him with such care into her car. My best friend/son/love of my life "transitioned" on 5/30/24 after I realized he was slowly dying from Lymphoma (among other things). The days leading up to his death and the day of his death were the worst days of my entire life. I have never been with any pet when they transitioned (just mentally couldn't do it) and always had it done at the vet but with my boy Petey, I knew he had to do it at home and he was an anxious dog and I didn't want his final memories being going in a car with strangers when he could no longer get himself off the ground or being at a clinic which he hated. Dr. Gonzalez was just wonderful. We came to the difficult decision to let our sweet Bubba go after battling kidney failure with no relief. It was agonizing to watch him lose more weight each day, and when it got to the point where he couldn't even drink water, we knew we had to do the kindest thing we could. Our regular vet is closed on the weekend, so we searched the internet for in-home options and found Dr. Gonzalez. She came to us at 10:00 on a Saturday night and she couldn't have been kinder or more compassionate. She gave us as much time as we needed at every point in the process, and explained each step along the way. Bubba's transition was peaceful and comfortable, which is all you can hope for. We opted for cremation, so she carefully swaddled him like a baby in a plush blanket that she brought with her, and invited our family to follow her to her car where she placed him in a satin shroud and made sure he was secure. We all said our final goodbyes and sent him on his way. It was sad and emotional, but not traumatic. Having a professional do it at home was absolutely the best way to go. My family and I are forever grateful for the amazing send off we received from Gemcore and Dr. Gonzalez for our dog, Milo. My family and I decided we would never want our pup's final breath to be in a vet office. So we searched for in-home euthanasia where we can control the environment and make our dog as comfortable as possible. We first inquired for in-home euthanasia back in Sept 2023 when we thought our dog's health was suffering. Thankfully at the time, he still had a lot of life within him so we kept Gemcore's name in our back pocket for the future. Come April 2024, Milo's health declined really quickly to the point where we had to make the difficult decision of letting him go. We contacted Gemcore and I was immediately blown away by their empathy and care. They asked me a few questions about my dog and his condition, and they gently asked us if we wanted to proceed with the euthanasia. They had a mostly open schedule when I inquired. And they were very accommodating to work with our schedule as well. It's not easy to pencil in the last day you'll have with your beloved dog. Dr. Gonzalez arrived and was extremely kind and gentle. She walked us through every single step of the process and made sure my family and Milo were taken care of. She is also a practicing veterinarian and through only observation and some palpating, she noticed there was possibly an underlying sickness to our dog that our own vet probably didn't diagnose. I made note that if I had another dog in the future, I'm going to Dr. Gonzalez. She has a very soothing voice and we had no worries that she was taking care of our pup every second of the way. When it was over, she gave my family a moment to grieve and allowed us time to say our final goodbyes. After a short while, she and an assistant came to wrap Milo up in some blankets and a carrying cot and carried him into their car. We chose Individual Cremation so we can get Milo's ashes back. She walked us through that process and how Milo will have a barcode and assured us they scan it every step of his journey until his ashes arrive back to their office. It's not easy being the one that provides this service, but I am so so thankful for their hard work. They have easy and open communication should you need to contact them. They get back to you quite quickly. If I'm not wrong, their pricing is fair and is based on your dog's breed, size, and weight. It was all very reasonable for the kind of service you're asking for--and at the end of the day, you really can't put a price on the life of your dog. They had several options for urns, some included with the price, or you have the option to upgrade to other styles. They also have options to get a clay paw print made, or a lock of hair, etc. They provide you with the service menu. All in all, we are so thankful. Thank you Gemcore. read more

She came to our home and provided euthanasia services in the comfort of our own home. I would have hated to put Moses through the stress of traveling to the vet for his final moments. Just two weeks ago just after the new year we needed her services again to help us say goodbye to our 17 year old tuxedo cat Vincent Vega. Vinnie was such a special boy and would go on walks with us outside in the backyard. He lived for it. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 and we believe those outdoor walks is what kept him going for nearly four more years. The most difficult decisions, require the most responsible and caring people to handle them. Our 16 year old dog, Bandit was diagnosed with Kidney disease a few months ago. Because he was a senior dog, he had some other mild issues, but nothing serious. We tried special food and he would not touch it. The past two weeks, it was apparent that his Kidneys were causing other issues, he was not eating as much, and he was having difficulty walking. They had used her 6 months ago and said she was wonderful. I called on Friday 2/23/24 and was able to get an appointment for Sunday 2/25/25. The office attendant was great and went over all pricing and options. The communication was perfect and I knew what I needed to do to get ready. Upon arrival today, Dr. Gonzalez was very sincere and compassionate. She thoroughly explained everything that would be occurring and made sure to see ask if we had questions at each step. She was extremely gentle and caring and we really felt thankful. Our Bandit gently passed in my husband's arms. Following his passing, we were able to bring him to our other pets so they could also say goodbye. At no point did she rush us, she was very respectful throughout the whole process. My husband and I walked outside with her and brought Bandit to her car. She placed him gently in the back with a blanket and made sure his body was secure. So, we booked an appointment for an in-home vet service a week out via the online portal, and all week, Dr. Gonzalez and her team were in communication with us -- via email and text -- to make sure we understood what was coming and clear about costs for services. Once the day finally came, Dr. Gonzalez arrived right on time as agreed and scheduled. We took care of paperwork first, such as selecting the urn and adding a lock of hair vial to our services. After that, she went right into walking us through the most difficult experience. We had elected to have our pup pass in the living room, and Dr. Gonzalez told us that we could also hold our pup as she passed. So, my fiance held Spice the whole time. Dr. Gonzalez was so gentle, caring, and compassionate as she walked us through what was happening. We had requested a moment before her final breath to give us time to say kind things to Spice and express our love-- even if it was through our heartbreak and tears. Once we were ready for it to happen, it was all so peaceful and smooth. Then Dr. Gonzalez stepped out of the house for a few minutes to give us a moment with our pup who had peacefully passed. Even in the midst of such a dark moment, it felt like we were all being guided with love and care through it with Dr. Gonzalez. Then she came back in, wrapped Spice up in a blanket, and let us carry her out ourselves to her vehicle. Once at the vehicle, Dr. Gonzalez wrapped Spice in a beautiful purple satin blanket, which was just reminiscent of how we see our loved ones wrapped in a casket. We kissed our pup with our final goodbyes, and then Dr. Gonzalez departed. That was it. The experience lasted about 45 minutes, and then we were able to go back into the house and face our grief. Overall, it was better than having to exit a vet office while strangers see you crying your eyes out. For all my pets moving forward, they will pass comfortably at home.
