I'm not a fan of this salon. I feel like they are talking about you the entire time in their language. The lady that did my nails didn't seam to want to and she put far too much chemicals on my feet, which are quite honestly still burning me. She was barely wanting to touch my feet, making faces, rolling her eyes and for me it was an awful and humiliating experience. She also burned me several times once with water in the foot bath, the second with paraffin wax and the third with hot towels. She did not ask me if something was too hot she just subjected me which caused burns. On my way out the owner reprimanded me telling me that i needed to come more often but I just had my nails done 4 weeks ago. I wear sandals so they just had some callouses and dirt. I tipped her $20 on top of the cost of the pedicure but my family unfortunately won't be back. I just cannot subject myself to that treatment again. I appreciate the hard work but I really do not appreciate how I was treated, especially the technical parts such and burning me and using too much chemicals. read more

Went here today for the first time and it was a very nice experience. Cindy took care of me and did my hard gel manicure. Not only was she gentle on my nails, but they turned out beautiful! She also took her time which made me feel more relaxed. Will definitely be returning here. Thank you Cindy! read more

I had a good review previously, I had come in a few times with a good experience. The last couple times I've come in, they have taken me at least 15 minutes or longer past my appointment time. I always call and make an appointment hoping they will take me at that time to avoid waiting. I guess appointments don't matter to them. They don't apologize or acknowledge the time. Though, they do a good job with nails. read more

1000% RECOMMEND! They were so accommodating in switching my appt time the far before and when I got there, they were super busy. They were fully booked for the rest of the afternoon so I'm amazed they were able to squeeze me and my daughter in. Tom did an AMAZING job. Let me tell you, I can be somewhat knit picky when it comes to the shape, length, or clean up around my acrylics - I did not have a single comment or request to him. He knew exactly what hr was doing! I also had a design that would take some time and concentration and even though they were slammed, I never felt that he rushed or was annoyed. My nails look so good and I am extremely happy with the product I received. This was my first time visit but I will definitely be back! read more

Wow, as a local who prides themselves on using locals this was just a tremendously horrible experience. I told the owner when I booked it was very important that my nails were for my son's wedding. So she gives me her worst nail tech who takes over 2 hours for my mani pedi. The pedi was gel which was right but he proceeds to undo my dip mai and gel my nails and not dip them. He cut me multiple times. The nails were ridiculously square and the polish had bubbled. I will now have to have them redone and hope that I don't get infected from the cuts. She charged me for the dip that I didn't get! Never go here!!! This is a horrible salon! I never write bad reviews ever! read more

The two stars for the massage chair. As for the pedicure job....Quickly trimmed and somewhat smoothed the bottoms of my feet. Massaged and put lotion on my feet and than quickly put the polish on I picked out. The kid never acknowledged me and was just talking to the girl doing a pedicure at the next station. Went over and sat and was on his phone while my toes dried. When my time was up, he slipped on my sandals and walked away. The owner mani was so busy playing candy crush, he was looking down playing the entire time I was checking out. Blew me away. The reviews don't matter because I'm pretty sure they don't read these. It was just very bizarre and rude read more

The owner is extremely rude. The appointment was 9:30 only one other customer present with 4 nail technicians on their phones, talking to each other and yet I waited. They made me feel that I was interrupting their day. To say that they are unwelcoming is an understatement. Do not waist your time or money! read more

Great service by Jackie. Most technicians elsewhere wreck the natural nail bed when removing dip powder but Jackie was on point and took care of my nails. They look great and are healthy to boot. read more

Ive been going here for gel services monthly for about a year and I'm ready to move on. Today was the fifth time I've bled from a service which I try not to get too bothered about, but I'm over having to rehab my skin and worry about infection every time I get something done. For some reason, whether it's my hands or feet, I get pretty deep cuts due to hasty cuticle removal, something that shouldn't be happening when you're paying around 50 bucks. I added a star bc some of the staff are usually nice and apologetic, but the owner, as always, is brusque upon arrival and also during payment. Would not recommend. read more

Appointment was scheduled for 12:30 and didn't get service til 1:10 . Refused to take off acrylics and put gel manicure because nail was weak so she just filed down old set and put gel on top . Leaving them bumpy and uneven ! She rushed and I said please remove cuticles and she faked it . I ask her again and she aggressively cut them down to much leaving them with blood blisters and in pain . Horrible service for the Second time and nails left in horrible shape ! read more

This is a great salon. The owner has to work 7 days a week due to the tragic loss of her spouse. I've seen a couple of VERY harsh reviews from right a boy when he passed away. I encourage whomever has had a bad experience to extend some grace. Contact the owner, Cindy. She is so very kind. Works extremely hard and is VERY honest. She will absolutely correct any errors. I've had a gel manicure chip within a couple days before and she has me come right back in and fixes it, for free of course. We never know what is happening in someone else's life. If you don't reach out to management, you're not really giving an opportunity to fix what is an atypical occurrence at this salon read more

Cindy and her staff are all wonderful. She takes pride in her business and truly cares about her customers. She remembers everyone's name. I used to go to Gem to see Henry then Covid happened after going just twice so didn't go for a couple years went back, learned a Henry was gone but, visited as a walk in and Cindy remembered me and my name. I was shocked. I miss Henry but, Tom takes great care of my nails!! read more

I have been here twice, once to get a pedicure and the second time to get both a pedicure and a manicure. The nail spa is located in a small shopping center near downtown WIndsor. During both of my visits, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and I was able to sit down right away after picking out my nail color. The prices are very reasonable and they did an excellent job. It was an all around great experience and I'm glad I found this place! I will definitely be back the next time I am in need of some pampering. read more

The owners and staff here are very friendly. My manicurist and I held a great conversation for the entirety of my appointment. He spent a lot of time making my tiny, gross, and broken nails almost double in size from dead skin removal, and filing. I love my light pink gel nails and will be going back ASAP. Great inside atmosphere and cute location. Not to mention there's an Oliver's and Starbucks within walking distance. You can get your drink and relax at the same time. Definitely recommend. read more

I was in search of a new nail spa because I was unhappy with my other place (quality and price). I came across Gem Nail Spa and I am so glad I did!! They were able to squeeze me in for a gel pedicure in the evening. When I arrived, I was greeted by Derek who immediately sat me down and got started. The whole experience was amazing, and he did such a great job! The gel pedicure was accurately priced, and Derek was so friendly. I'll be back time and time again!! read more

I have been here a few times for gel manicure, dip manicure and regular polish pedicure. They are always good at helping me get seen even last minute and do a good job. Friendly staff. Sometimes have to wait for awhile for them to finish. I really liked my dip polish that lasted 4-5 weeks and looked great. I just wish they used separate dip powder containers for clients to improve sanitation. read more

My GEL nail polish chipped 1 hour after I left!!!!!!! The man that painted my nails did a poor job. He painted my skin around the nail... then proceeded to put oil, which made my polish chip off due to the polish being on my skin. When I pay extra for gel nail polish I expect it to stay on my nails longer than an hour.... Or at least I hope it would! Very sad, I was disappointed with the money I spent there. read more

Sad to say after giving multiple opportunities... will not return again. 1- my daughters gel was all over her skin, lifting off after as she walked to the car.... After he put oil all over the sloppy paint job... sad, sad, sad. 2- my pedicure person was on her phone calls and text WHOLE time while using 1 hand to do my pedicure while looking at the lhone. Holy moly! Thank Goodness I didnt get nicked! 3- we scheduled appointments and like all other times.... We were made to wait while everone else was serviced. Strongly recommend not counting on an appointment... and if you do, give yourself ample time besides a normal slot because an appointment means NOTHING here. Lastly, each time I got gel it lifted eithing a matter lf days. Gave many chances as thought maybe covid, some polishes were old, expired, etc ? Not sure thats a thing but really trying to be sensitive to yhis business. Sad, sad, sad. My daughter feels ripped off as she saves for her salon visits :( read more

I've been coming to Gem for the past month. I'm very happy with the nail spa, ambiance, staff, and the quality of their work. All of the staff have great customer service etiquette, and they do a great job. I love how they take their time and make sure you're having a relaxing experience, unlike some places that like to work fast to get you done and out to get the next person in. I've been super happy with everyone that I've had so far for my pedicures. Thank you Gem Nail Spa for always doing a fabulous job! read more

After reading some of the reviews here I'm starting to think that not only was I treated rudely, I think I was overcharged. I went in for a gel manicure (my first time there) with my friend who's been there a few times, and said that they take card. Today we were told that they only took cash and charged me $45 for a gel manicure. A terrible one at that. They left a lot of my old color all over my fingers. I had to go home and try to clean it up. Also when the young girl was grinding the old color off my nails, she nicked the sides of 2 of my nails breaking them. Instead of trying to fix it, she told me how thin my nails were and painted them with pieces of my nail chipped. It looked bad. The other lady who was doing my friends nails came and fixed those two. But my other nails just look bad. At $45 for gels, they were rude and didn't seem to care at all. Very disappointed. read more

Typical nail salon but extra gross today. Today, I was very offended when the nail technician cut the fingernails of the woman sitting next to me, and her cut nails went flying at me. When I said something, he did nothing to alter how he was cutting her nails. They kept fly at me - so gross. The woman apologized and my technician threw a towel at him. Very gross - not much more to say. He then sanded her nails about 2 feet from my face - luckily I had my Covid mask to put on. Not going back there. Very disrespectful. read more

So dirty. I want to like this place so much. In the surface it's nice, it's just that, believe me, when you're sitting getting your nails done look behind the manicurist. There are carts that are just filled with crap and junk and filthy, and no one cleans them and they don't do a very good job of cleaning the actual table where you get your nails done either. Also, they are not organized in storing their polishes. They are left all over the place and it just seems like no one has done a deep clean of that whole area and it just grosses me out. read more
