Finally found a gelato shop in the Front Range that rivals the best in the world. (Yes, you read that correctly:): And it's Fior Di Latte. Lived in Italy and made it my business to sample all the gelato I could. Nothing was better than what FDL offers right here in lil' ole Boulder, Colorado. Not as many flavors as you can find in Capogiro Gelato, let alone the choices at Gelateria Dondoli. I want to love Gelato Boy, I truly do. I just can't get GB to check all the boxes for me. I popped in early evening for a regular (3 flavors) in a waffle cone. I chose gooey butter cake with caramel, pistachio, and lavender poppy seed. In full confession, I am IN LOVE with another brand's gooey butter cake, so ultimately it led to my disappointment in the GB version. There was no caramel and I received a 1/2 scoop (see photo). The pistachio was delightful, but the lavender really stole the show. Perfectly creamy and the flavor was spot on. I typically order my gelato in a cup, but opted for the waffle cone to be festive. I'm assuming they are made in house, but it did not taste freshly made, which is really what I want in a waffle cone. I know I'll be back, I just wish Gelato Boy would take my tastebuds back to Italy. Stick with the classic flavors, maybe trendy isn't where they should put their energy. read more

Had the Coffee Chip and the Brownie flavors, both delicious, but I lean towards the Coffee Chip because how much better it was than other coffee gelatos I've had. I had the 2 scoops on the waffle cone, which may have been a little over cooked on the iron. But I think that was a one-off. Someone with me had the Brownie flavor with the waffle on the side. The waffle was fresh and hot, and just the right amount of sweetness. read more

Stopped in here after a great day of hiking! It's a cute store- the gelato flavors are innovative- they keep them covered- not sure if that is always the case or just a Covid thing- but it's odd to not be able to see the flavors. I had the chocolate brownie and the straccia-newtella. The taste and consistency was great- the portion size was a little small but the gelato was good. read more

The absolute best. Gooey butter cake + caramel. 'Nuff said. The midnight chocolate is also so so good and it's vegan. Pistachio is also very good. The only flavor I've tried so far that didn't rock my world is the Colorado peach. But that gooey butter cake + caramel...my goodness. Yum. During Covid-19, they're limiting the number of customers in the store to 8 at a time. Masks are required, payment is touch-free (by card) and the cashier disinfects the keypad after use. They also serve your ice cream crazy-fast so there's no line. FYI - there are two Gelato Boys on Pearl Street. Both are equally terrific. read more

The shop was PACKED while we were there and she was the only person working. She did such an amazing job being efficient, while still making everyone feel like they were the only people there. I had no idea why the line for this is out the door until my recent experience. The staff is slow and their serving activities are inefficient. Clearly this is because of poor management as the fish always stinks from the head. I had the Pistachio gelato and was delightfully ripped off with the small scoop purchased for $4.95. Come on...it's only gelato. I shouldn't be able to see the inside walls of the cup as it should be packed full. The Pistachio flavoring was rather flavorless (although I sampled the vanilla and was quite impressed by how strong the vanilla flavor was--nearly artificially so.) I'm curious if they use high fructose corn syrup in their production as it's rather overly sweet. Kudos for the freshness of the waffle cones as someone seems to be making them every 30 minutes. Moreover, I was impressed at how concerned they were to using a napkin with which to get new waffle cones from the stack in order to not touch them (which is rather ridiculous because they could easily wear plastic gloves for this (that's right folks, they don't use plastic gloves while scooping your, meaning their knuckles are likely touching the serving containers. Business must be very robust as they now have TWO locations on infamous Pearl street. ...And $7.95 for a shake?? Please. How pretentious. By the way, the picture attached is NOT how full they fill your cup. read more

I bought the Buttercake and Caramel flavor at Sprouts and was not the least bit impressed. Gelato Boy may as put a Krispy Kreme filled donuts in vanilla ice cream because that's basically what you're eating. Even Talenti is better and qualifies as a gelato. The consistency was gritty and more like ice milk. The tired old 'Boy meets girl' Amore song lyric and stock photo looking images of lovers with a sun drenched Mediterranean backdrop doesn't compensate for an overpriced product that doesn't have the consistency of gelato. I won't be buying this product again that is now taking up freezer space. Having Italian ancestry or being from Italy doesn't guarantee any quality. Your Gooey Buttercake Caramel Gelato is not a 'Happy Accident' and I don't care to know the backstory. read more

I would NEVER support this company and its insanely shady business practices. I first noticed their pint ice creams in Sprouts, when I checked the ingredients list. Immediately it jumped out to me that they are hiding things in their products and not willing to tell the truth. One of the ingredients were listed as "gluten free flour"... That's it. As someone with allergies I was instantly peeved that this company isn't transparent enough, and I had to message the company myself to find out what's in it before eating it. But wait --- I messaged them! And they STILL didn't tell me. All they responded with was "There are no allergens in our gf flour". Wtf?! Who are they to say no one has allergens to their mystery flour? There is no such thing as gluten free wheat flour, so it must be coconut flour? Cassava? Tapioca? Almond? Potato? Rice? Or is it some unheard of ingredients that are frowned upon? Too bad we'll never know, because Gelato Boy would rather keep secrets from people about what they are putting into their bodies. Not only is this incredibly dangerous to consumers, it is so careless, shady, and suspect. It already irked me that it wasn't listed on the package... Not on the website... But even when CONTACTED, they hide what's inside? This company is dishonest and I wouldn't trust WHATEVER they say about their products. I'll never find out if their ice cream tastes good, but even if it does - I would suggest you find an alternative and stay far far away from this deceptive business. read more

If you are looking for ice cream in Boulder, Colorado ; this place is it! My whole family came to this place when it wasn't packed because of the cold whether. We were greeted when we came and were able to sample any kind of ice cream they had available. The workers there were really nice and the place was clean. They don't have a restroom inside their store, but there is a rest room near Starbucks if you walk down more. It's a convenient ice cream place when it's near a shopping area that reminds me of home. read more

This is the best we had after a long time! We ordered a scoop of pistachio, lemon, and pineapple. Everything was spot on and so delicious. It was after a 4-day blizzard and it was about mid-30 degrees outside but I happened upon this place while my sis was going to the restroom next door, and I ended up sampling basically all their flavors and buying a flight of 6 gelato flavors plus hot chocolate and an affogato. Because their flavors are unique and super tasty. Absolutely worth it. No regrets. Can't wait to go back. Get yourself here regardless of the weather, time of day, or how full you are. I got their ice cream from a local restaurant instead of the Gelato Boy shop because they close quite early. I got the ice cream to go to enjoy at home on the same day and it was very icy. See my video with sound. I reached out to Gelato Boy to provide feedback. Gelato Boy did not get back to me for a week. They only got back to me when I reached out again. They do not seem to be concerned of their product quality nor care to apologize. Very disappointing! read more

A solid gelato spot. It was later in the day and I was looking for an after dinner treat on Pearl Street. Luckily this was one of the few ice cream spots and still open (although at this point ~7pm) . Sadly many flavors were already gone (like straciatella and Nutella) but luckily I got the last scoop of coffee flavor. It was good coffee and a nice creamy texture. What was missing? I could've used more of a caffeinated kick as the cream and sugar really dulled down the coffee. Make sure to get it on a cute sugar cone. read more

It is definitely the best gelato I've had since Italy! We got the chocolate hazelnut flavor and it was chocolate heavenly! Creamy, rich and so chocolate-y! The Palisade Peach flavor was very refreshing and bursting with flavors of peach! I also loved the Blackberry Jam! I liked how they used real spoons for sampling vs. plastic ones! Our server was super friendly and took the time to make a great presentation with the hazelnut in the center of the bowl! She even gave us tips for the perfect background for taking pictures! Wow. Hands down the best gelato I have ever had. For starters I love the design of the store combined with the advertising that everything is made fresh daily. Then you go into the store and see the most beautiful gelato in the case. Each one has gorgeous swirls and made you want to eat and eat some more. Naturally with the options I had no choice but to do the flight of four flavors. I went for the pumpkin pie (just like pumpkin pie complete with whipped cream), fig-marscapone (the slight tang of the fig was a perfect marriage with the rich marscapone), bourbon-pecan (sacrilege for my husband and friend to put bourbon into ice cream as that is meant to drink straight but Delish to me), and finally my favorite. The coconut florentine which had a rich coconut flavor with crunchy almond cookies and chocolate. Yes, yes, yes. A happy day indeed. read more

One of the best spots for pistachio gelato my husband and I have ever tried. I'm not usually a fan of pistachio flavored ice cream/gelato but this one was so delicious I'd honestly order it myself.. but won't ever have to because it's my husband's all time favorite flavor and this one knocked it outta the park. After we tried it we had to go back to get it a second time during our 5 day trip to Denver + Boulder. I tried their coffee chip and mint chip, and both were yummy as well. I love that they have dairy free options as well in so many delicious flavors. read more

We are lucky to get a taste of Italy's gelato on Pearl Street. At Fior di Latte, the flavors are all very tempting, and the few I tried were delicious. The salted caramel gelato was simply delicious, the lemon-basil is surprisingly creamy for a sorbet, and refreshing with the right balance of sweat and tart, and a hint of basil. I can't wait to go back to get a pistachio gelato accompanied with an espresso. Or maybe a chocolate hazelnut one, or both.... Yes, it is a little bit on the expensive side, but for such a treat it is worth it. I'd rather go less often and get the best when I want more than an ice-cream. I also had a latte, which was very good. I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite spots when going on Pearl Street. I should also mention that the staff was very friendly.
