Cool (literally) modern vibes in this gelato hotspot along the immensely popular shopping corridor. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered: honey toffee almond crunch, island coconut cream, and cornbread + peach jam. No inside seating but benches were available outside on the pedestrianized streets. All the flavors were fresh and hit the spot on a 95 deg day!
Since we were very early adopters over a decade ago, we consider ourselves fairly knowledgeable, so I ask of the owners to please bring back some classic flavors and make a summer hit again this year a summer regular. The classic that long time staff agree with long time customers is Stracctiatella , chocolate flakes in a vanilla base and the summer regular should always include pineapple blood orange creamsicle. The staff and gelato quality remains superb and whether you choose west Pearl or east Pearl like we did tonight, you simply cannot go wrong. I was very happy with my Sicilian Pistachio tonight and my husband enjoyed his vanilla. Thanks for bringing such good gelato to Boulder years ago and we are always thankful!
What a fun ice cream place! We came here to grab some desert to eat. The ice cream was really good! I really enjoyed their cookie ice cream. Also, this place had good services. Good ambiance too. Overall, great ice cream place and I recommend it.
Refreshing in a hot summer day!!! Friendly staff, interesting unique flavors with a twist, and creamy gelato. They have multiple locations all throughout Pearl Street. They offer fresh waffle cones or cups in various sizes. Not much seating inside the establishment itself but outside there is seating everywhere. Highly recommend for a delicious treat!
After a long afternoon of browsing Pearl St. we opted to grab a bite at Busaba (Thai) followed by desert just down the block, here at Gelato Boy. They gladly provide tasting samples. We each opted for the small cone but with two different scoops/flavors. One of the tryouts (Gooey Butter Cake Caramel) persuaded me to choose it and the other flavor was my typical standby profile (Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch)... see pic! Flavors of both were amazing and their consistency/temperature were just right - firm, yet on the verge of beginning to melt. There are 4-5 ice cream/gelato cafes along Pearl and prices here are on par. Staff were all pleasant and the inside was cleaning/inviting.

As someone who loves gelato but is lactose intolerant, I loved the variety of non-dairy flavors Gelato Boy had! I got the dairy free chocolate and the cookies and cream, both of which were creamy without being too sweet. The chocolate was reminiscent of chocolate sorbetto I had in Italy, decadent and slightly bitter, and most importantly, didn't have a coconut milk base (like most df options in the States do). Of course I could never go wrong with cookies and cream, and this still held true after trying Gelato Boy's take on it. Personally I'd prefer even more cookies in the ice cream, but it was delicious nonetheless. The shop is located on a fun lively street with many restaurants, making it a the perfect post-dinner dessert stop. The staff was also vey friendly and patient, proactively offering large samples while waiting in line. I didn't feel rushed at all, which I usually feel is the case in ice cream shops. Can't wait to be back and try more of their lactose & lactose free flavors!
Gelato Boy is located at one end of Pearl Street Mall and, for me, is the perfect sweet treat at the end of a hot, fulfilling day exploring in and around Boulder! The aesthetic of Gelato Boy is so cute and the branding is minimalistic and on point! They know how to market their stuff, but truly they don't even need to try too hard with their marketing because their gelato and other offerings truly stand on their own! They have such unique flavors of gelato here, along with plenty of classics, so you truly can't go wrong with any flavors! Of course, you are allowed to get tasters of the ones you're interested in to help aid your decision! Given how full I already was and a bit tired, I wasn't feeling *too* adventures, so I ordered a "tamer" flavor of salty cookies + cream, but my love for cookies + cream is next level, so I thoroughly enjoyed my one scoop of this and it just really hit the spot! The other flavors that really interested me that I'd love to go back and get proper scoops of were: lavender poppy, Sicilian pistachio, dark chocolate, and literally every sorbet flavor!! There's something for everyone here, they even have gluten free and dairy free options as well!
We stopped by this ice cream shop while walking around downtown Boulder. They had few vegan options so we had to try. I got a vegan Maple Pecan Biscotti and it was amazing! You couldn't really tell that it was dairy free. Hubby got the Pistachio and Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch and he also enjoyed it a lot. The prices were pretty high but it's downtown Boulder so what you'd expect... Staff was very friendly, they have few chairs outside so you can enjoy your Gelato on fresh air.
In the mood for something cold and something sweet. This place hit the spot and the line had diminished. Great service and we were allowed to have a taste sample. I fell in love with the Pistachio. I had ordered 2 scoops and a waffle cone ( I checked in and I got the waffle cone for free!). The quality of the ice cream was on par and the flavor was delicious. It was almost as if I was in Italy again. As we got our treats, we couldn't believe our eyes. There was a long line waiting to be served! We came just in time and we enjoyed it outside. They has a few seats just outside their entrance. They also have a few merchandise for purchase.
Amazing spot! Pineapple blood orange creamsicle and black raspberry chocolate chip were both perfect. Also got a free waffle cone with Yelp check-in!
This place is really cute and has quite a few options. The flavors are fun and unique and there are a lot of options for people with different allergies. I highly recommend coming here and I will be back again soon. They also have a rewards program you will want to look up before you come and a Yelp check in deal as well! The service was fast and was kind and fun. A small space but inside a bigger building where you can get out of the heat if you need to.
I recommend the lavender poppy, Sicilian pistachio, coffee chip, and strawberry flavors. The ice cream flight is perfect for 2-4 people to share and you get to try a variety of flavors.

Incredible dairy-free/vegan gelato! Both the midnight chocolate and stracciatella were good, but the midnight chocolate was incredible. I could eat it all day. Very easy and quick service and the staff was super friendly. I can't wait to return! read more

Wow! This fabulous "Fior Di Latte" Gelato establishment has flavors that take your tongue into the yum-yum Stratosphere! Free sampling's allow you to taste before you buy! Good thing they have a "Flight" selection of six flavors for those that can't decide or want more of it all! I went for a double scoop of the Midnight Chocolate (Magnificent Creamy texture with a Rich Deep Chocolaty Flavor) and the Salted Carmel Apple (A Creamy Apple-Pie-Like Delight with a Rich Carmel Ribbon layerings) that made the perfect combo! Finally found a gelato shop in the Front Range that rivals the best in the world. (Yes, you read that correctly:): And it's Fior Di Latte. Lived in Italy and made it my business to sample all the gelato I could. Nothing was better than what FDL offers right here in lil' ole Boulder, Colorado. Not as many flavors as you can find in Capogiro Gelato, let alone the choices at Gelateria Dondoli. Now you ask, is it expensive? Well, of course it's expensive. It "rivals the best in the world." Weren't you paying attention? But is it worth it? (That's the natural follow-up question, right?). And the answer is you bet it is! So if you can afford it ask yourself "would I rather pay an extra buck to get the best taste in the world, or would good-to-very-good at a buck less satisfy my taste?" Gelato Boy is my favorite place to stop for dessert when I'm in Boulder! I always get the Lavender Poppy and the Sicilian Pistachio but decided to try the Coffee Chip! I want to love Gelato Boy, I truly do. I just can't get GB to check all the boxes for me. I popped in early evening for a regular (3 flavors) in a waffle cone. I chose gooey butter cake with caramel, pistachio, and lavender poppy seed. In full confession, I am IN LOVE with another brand's gooey butter cake, so ultimately it led to my disappointment in the GB version. There was no caramel and I received a 1/2 scoop (see photo). The pistachio was delightful, but the lavender really stole the show. Perfectly creamy and the flavor was spot on. I typically order my gelato in a cup, but opted for the waffle cone to be festive. I'm assuming they are made in house, but it did not taste freshly made, which is really what I want in a waffle cone. I know I'll be back, I just wish Gelato Boy would take my tastebuds back to Italy. Stick with the classic flavors, maybe trendy isn't where they should put their energy. read more

Had the Coffee Chip and the Brownie flavors, both delicious, but I lean towards the Coffee Chip because how much better it was than other coffee gelatos I've had. I had the 2 scoops on the waffle cone, which may have been a little over cooked on the iron. But I think that was a one-off. Someone with me had the Brownie flavor with the waffle on the side. The waffle was fresh and hot, and just the right amount of sweetness. read more
Stopped in here after a great day of hiking! It's a cute store- the gelato flavors are innovative- they keep them covered- not sure if that is always the case or just a Covid thing- but it's odd to not be able to see the flavors. I had the chocolate brownie and the straccia-newtella. The taste and consistency was great- the portion size was a little small but the gelato was good. read more

The absolute best. Gooey butter cake + caramel. 'Nuff said. The midnight chocolate is also so so good and it's vegan. Pistachio is also very good. The only flavor I've tried so far that didn't rock my world is the Colorado peach. But that gooey butter cake + caramel...my goodness. Yum. During Covid-19, they're limiting the number of customers in the store to 8 at a time. Masks are required, payment is touch-free (by card) and the cashier disinfects the keypad after use. They also serve your ice cream crazy-fast so there's no line. FYI - there are two Gelato Boys on Pearl Street. Both are equally terrific. read more

I had no idea why the line for this is out the door until my recent experience. The staff is slow and their serving activities are inefficient. Clearly this is because of poor management as the fish always stinks from the head. I had the Pistachio gelato and was delightfully ripped off with the small scoop purchased for $4.95. Come on...it's only gelato. I shouldn't be able to see the inside walls of the cup as it should be packed full. The Pistachio flavoring was rather flavorless (although I sampled the vanilla and was quite impressed by how strong the vanilla flavor was--nearly artificially so.) I'm curious if they use high fructose corn syrup in their production as it's rather overly sweet. Kudos for the freshness of the waffle cones as someone seems to be making them every 30 minutes. Moreover, I was impressed at how concerned they were to using a napkin with which to get new waffle cones from the stack in order to not touch them (which is rather ridiculous because they could easily wear plastic gloves for this (that's right folks, they don't use plastic gloves while scooping your, meaning their knuckles are likely touching the serving containers. Business must be very robust as they now have TWO locations on infamous Pearl street. ...And $7.95 for a shake?? Please. How pretentious. By the way, the picture attached is NOT how full they fill your cup. read more

They use metal spoons if you want to taste an ice cream flavor. I like that idea. Less waste. I really wish that I would've gotten 2 scoops instead of just 1. It was sooo good. read more

I would NEVER support this company and its insanely shady business practices. I first noticed their pint ice creams in Sprouts, when I checked the ingredients list. Immediately it jumped out to me that they are hiding things in their products and not willing to tell the truth. One of the ingredients were listed as "gluten free flour"... That's it. As someone with allergies I was instantly peeved that this company isn't transparent enough, and I had to message the company myself to find out what's in it before eating it. But wait --- I messaged them! And they STILL didn't tell me. All they responded with was "There are no allergens in our gf flour". Wtf?! Who are they to say no one has allergens to their mystery flour? There is no such thing as gluten free wheat flour, so it must be coconut flour? Cassava? Tapioca? Almond? Potato? Rice? Or is it some unheard of ingredients that are frowned upon? Too bad we'll never know, because Gelato Boy would rather keep secrets from people about what they are putting into their bodies. Not only is this incredibly dangerous to consumers, it is so careless, shady, and suspect. It already irked me that it wasn't listed on the package... Not on the website... But even when CONTACTED, they hide what's inside? This company is dishonest and I wouldn't trust WHATEVER they say about their products. I'll never find out if their ice cream tastes good, but even if it does - I would suggest you find an alternative and stay far far away from this deceptive business. read more

If you are looking for ice cream in Boulder, Colorado ; this place is it! My whole family came to this place when it wasn't packed because of the cold whether. We were greeted when we came and were able to sample any kind of ice cream they had available. The workers there were really nice and the place was clean. They don't have a restroom inside their store, but there is a rest room near Starbucks if you walk down more. It's a convenient ice cream place when it's near a shopping area that reminds me of home. read more
Omg this place is my favorite!!! Every flavor is SO good! They switch their flavors often and even have dairy free/ gluten free options. Their prices are fair, cute little shops, and compostable spoons and cups! They are very nice and let you try as many flavors as you want. The flavors are all so unique! This is the best we had after a long time! We ordered a scoop of pistachio, lemon, and pineapple. Everything was spot on and so delicious. The ice cream melts in your mouth while your pallet is relishing the flavors ! The fruits, sweetness and the cream blend beautifully! Must try. Their individual scoops are good for one person considering how good they are! read more

It was after a 4-day blizzard and it was about mid-30 degrees outside but I happened upon this place while my sis was going to the restroom next door, and I ended up sampling basically all their flavors and buying a flight of 6 gelato flavors plus hot chocolate and an affogato. Because their flavors are unique and super tasty. Absolutely worth it. No regrets. Can't wait to go back. Get yourself here regardless of the weather, time of day, or how full you are. You will thank yourself and me later. read more

Wow. Hands down the best gelato I have ever had. For starters I love the design of the store combined with the advertising that everything is made fresh daily. Then you go into the store and see the most beautiful gelato in the case. Each one has gorgeous swirls and made you want to eat and eat some more. Naturally with the options I had no choice but to do the flight of four flavors. I went for the pumpkin pie (just like pumpkin pie complete with whipped cream), fig-marscapone (the slight tang of the fig was a perfect marriage with the rich marscapone), bourbon-pecan (sacrilege for my husband and friend to put bourbon into ice cream as that is meant to drink straight but Delish to me), and finally my favorite. The coconut florentine which had a rich coconut flavor with crunchy almond cookies and chocolate. Yes, yes, yes. A happy day indeed. read more

I got their ice cream from a local restaurant instead of the Gelato Boy shop because they close quite early. I got the ice cream to go to enjoy at home on the same day and it was very icy. See my video with sound. I reached out to Gelato Boy to provide feedback. Gelato Boy did not get back to me for a week. They only got back to me when I reached out again. They do not seem to be concerned of their product quality nor care to apologize. Very disappointing! read more
It is definitely the best gelato I've had since Italy! We got the chocolate hazelnut flavor and it was chocolate heavenly! Creamy, rich and so chocolate-y! The Palisade Peach flavor was very refreshing and bursting with flavors of peach! I also loved the Blackberry Jam! I liked how they used real spoons for sampling vs. plastic ones! Our server was super friendly and took the time to make a great presentation with the hazelnut in the center of the bowl! She even gave us tips for the perfect background for taking pictures! I highly recommend this place for genuine gelato that's going to satisfying your sweet tooth! read more
A solid gelato spot. It was later in the day and I was looking for an after dinner treat on Pearl Street. Luckily this was one of the few ice cream spots and still open (although at this point ~7pm) . Sadly many flavors were already gone (like straciatella and Nutella) but luckily I got the last scoop of coffee flavor. It was good coffee and a nice creamy texture. What was missing? I could've used more of a caffeinated kick as the cream and sugar really dulled down the coffee. Make sure to get it on a cute sugar cone. read more

We are lucky to get a taste of Italy's gelato on Pearl Street. At Fior di Latte, the flavors are all very tempting, and the few I tried were delicious. The salted caramel gelato was simply delicious, the lemon-basil is surprisingly creamy for a sorbet, and refreshing with the right balance of sweat and tart, and a hint of basil. I can't wait to go back to get a pistachio gelato accompanied with an espresso. Or maybe a chocolate hazelnut one, or both.... Yes, it is a little bit on the expensive side, but for such a treat it is worth it. I'd rather go less often and get the best when I want more than an ice-cream. I also had a latte, which was very good. I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite spots when going on Pearl Street. I should also mention that the staff was very friendly. So glad I finally tried Fior di Latte! read more
