Located in the historic downtown Sintra village. It's hard to go wrong on the charm factor here. Unfortunately, the service was not future family. I have the rum raisin ice cream and dark chocolate in a waffle cone. The rum raisin was much more potent than others I've had before. However, the chocolate hit the spot and I really enjoyed my sample of the walnut and honey ice cream. A few seats are available out front. Prices seem standard for a touristy area.

Yummy! Waffle with walnuts and honey

Not sure what's with the 3-star eaters. Excellent gelato. Friendly service. Charming location.

Overpriced ice cream. The waffle bowl was not crispy and the service is not very good.

It seemed like a bit of a hole in the wall, which I always think makes the best food, so I gave it (and our tour guide) the benefit of the doubt, and I realized quickly that it had steady traffic and a constant line, which is always a good sign. I got the smoked ham and fresh cheese on a fresh baguette - the smoked ham was like a prosciutto and the fresh cheese like a ricotta, with lettuce, tomato, olive oil, and dried oregano. Very fresh, simple, bread was nice and crusty, and the olive oil and oregano were a nice touch. Seemed more of an Italian-inspired lunch to me, but I'm not complaining! Good value, too, at about only 4 euros per sandwich. No outdoor seating and limited seating inside, but there's a washroom and the tap is outside of it, so you can actually even fill up your water bottle here as well. On the left side, when you first walk in, there's also a little section for gelato - not sure if this is part of Puro Sabor or another side shop within, but either way, you can get a sandwich and dessert in the same spot.

I've been here twice now- each time for sweets and sandwiches. Always perfect. Try to pay in exact change- it gets really crowded here and it slows them down if you give them a big bill. Plus it's really cheap, so it's easy to have exactly change. You will be happy with anything here.

WiFi is available if you need it. We ordered and while waiting, enjoyed a bottle of wine for €18, a great value for a sit down lunch. Food hit the table about 20 minutes in, which was perfectly reasonable. My wife went with the steak, potatoes, eggs and sautéed vegetables. The steak was seasoned perfectly. I had the codfish with cornbread, sweet potatoes and spinach, a dish that is distinctly Portuguese and done really well here. Generous portioning for one, and again the seasoning was spot on across the board. A small but appreciated detail: the espressos arrived on warm plates, a thoughtful touch that suggests the kitchen actually cares about what they're sending out. After a morning of climbing through Sintra's palaces and towers, this is exactly the kind of place you want to stumble upon. Highly recommend making it part of your afternoon.

Despite the crowd, the service moved surprisingly fast and the whole experience felt well organized. You pay based on cone size rather than by the scoop, which means you can load up on flavors without the guilt of counting portions. I went with pistachio, mango and blueberry cheesecake, and the combination worked beautifully. What really sets Amorino apart is the presentation, the staff shape the gelato into a stunning flower design that almost feels too pretty to eat. I also grabbed a Nutella crepe which was every bit as good as it sounds. Beyond the gelato there are plenty of options to explore including their famous macarons, so it is worth taking a moment to browse before you order. If you are walking through the Baixa area, this is an easy and very rewarding detour.

I frequent the one in the ROD so it was not a shock when I dragged my friends in. It's the exact playbook as the one in Houston. You get in line, place your order and then choose your flavours. I went with my good ole faithful waffle with two scoops (hazelnut chocolate and salted caramel) of gelato and topped it off with hazelnut drizzle. The total was about $6.40 which is way cheaper than it is in the states. It was just as delicious and very much worth it. It's easy to find in you're in the Baixa area of Lisboa. Just follow the path.

We were welcomed by a couple really friendly and funny young lady servers and ours was especially so cute, helpful, and funny to talk and mess with!! Wife had a great green wine and I got a huge sangria for one that was great and fruity. She ordered a "seafood rice" served invite own metal crock packed with octopus and stuff that she couldn't finish. I got the steak and chips (fries) and a perfectly sunny side egg on top (13.70 Euros). She loved hers and my server made sure mine was truly medium rare leaving it cooked and not bloody yet swimming in juice. Beware in Portugal sometimes the "steak" is a fillet if you don't confirm first like this one. So glad I went med rare!! Perfectly cooked fries too. These ladies were actually from Nepal and we enjoyed talking with them about that and we joked a lot. It was a fun welcoming lunch. Two police officers dined next to us talking with the Portuguese owner so it's a mix of locals and tourists. It's right in the center of it all and convenient. Large menu and great service. Very affordable as well! Not the best steak I've ever had but the best for this price point generally and we would def go back again next trip. Our server was named Asmee(what a cutie!) and her associate Greeta.
