I was moving apartments within Portland, and I requested a quote via Yelp from Ground to Crown…read more Magdalene called me SEVEN minutes after I got in touch, and gave me all the information I needed in a clear and detailed manner. On the day of the move-out clean, my schedule got super screwed up by the movers, and because moving day is, as a universal rule, absolute garbage, I knew in my heart I was going to be unable to return to the apartment in time to meet the Ground to Crown crew, and they wouldn't be able to clean it, and basically, everything was going to go to hell and argghhh. So I called Magdalene, stressing, and she immediately (and very kindly) postponed my cleaning by 4 hours. No arguing, or hiking up the price, or calling me names, or canceling the cleaning and keeping my deposit? Whaaaa? Anyway, the people who came to clean were Veronica and Leo, and they were efficient, friendly, and very thorough. The best part is that they took a bajillion before and after photos, so if my landlord tries to hold onto part of my security deposit by claiming this or that was messed up or filthy and I happen to disagree, Magdalene has time-stamped photos that she saves. Seriously, the day started off with my pet sitter canceling at the last minute so I had to have my dogs on leashes while the movers did their thing, and then one of my dogs escaped his harness and ran into morning rush-hour traffic while I waited for the moving truck (someone grabbed him before he got hit or got too far, thank god), and things actually went DOWNHILL from there with the mover (I'll leave a 1-star review of Budget Movers after this; check it out if you want your mind blown), and I was so fried by 11 AM I didn't know how I was going to get through the cleaning. Somehow, Ground to Crown took a moving day that sucked compared to other moving days and made it pleasant. That's a feat.

The cleaning was for a 3bd/2bth 1800sqft empty house. The estimate I received after sending in…read morephotos of was for $399 and 7 hours. I was not present at the cleanign. After the cleaning, the invoice I received was for 9.5 hrs and $522. I think I should have been alerted that was going to take longer. I was arrived at the house 4 days after the cleaning and found that most of the items listed in the estimate were indeed done. However some were left out. - The bottom kitchen cabinet and drawers were all left out. - I suspect the floor was only vacuumed but not mopped (I mopped it myself and water was jet black). There were also some stickers on the floor which could easily have been cleaned up but weren't. - The cleaning crew forgot to turn off the A/C. They did offer to come back and clean the cabinets but I already cleaned it myself.

I have only had my first cleaning so far, a deep cleaning to get rid of all the buildup I've let…read moreaccumulate over the last year in my new apartment. The cleaning was extremely thorough; I was quite impressed as I walked around all day afterwards noticing small things that had been done. I am excited to be on a maintenance schedule with them so my place doesn't get to the point of having that much buildup again (my ADHD is relieved!). The only downside so far is scheduling is a bit weird - instead of just giving a date/time or setting up a regular schedule (like same date/time each month), they keep saying they'll get back to me with a date and I have to wait to get it scheduled. This is bad for my ADHD, I need things just locked in and as regular as possible so they become routine. We'll see if this becomes a bigger problem as I go but I'm happy with the level of clean I got for what I consider a good price and a good rapport with the company so I'm trying to roll with it. Forest is super nice and responsive and really put Green Earth House Cleaning above others I reached out to by requesting a phone consultation where we talked through my goals and details about my apartment, etc. Everyone else just sent an impersonal message with an estimate. It made me feel more comfortable starting a professional relationship with them. I definitely recommend giving them a try!
