Honestly, I wish I could give GCA Jewelers more than five stars. I was looking for a new wedding set, and went to Barmakian, Longs, Carters, the jewelers building downtown, a number of smaller, local jewelers on the North Shore, and the internet. I got my first few pieces of jewelry, including wedding rings, at Barmakian, and thought they were "the place" to go. I had driven past GCA many, many times, but had not ventured in, thinking that being so small they likely did not have a huge selection or great prices. I was so very wrong. Greg beat the prices of all those other stores by *thousands*. Here's the kicker- for that LOWER price, I got a MUCH bigger, far better color and clarity diamond, for way less than any of those stores had offered! The diamond we purchased was $3,000 LESS than one Barmakian offered- and was almost a quarter carat larger, AND a step up in clarity!!! In terms of repair work, you cannot beat the craftsmanship and prices. My father has been in the antiques business for 40+ years, specializing in sterling silver and fine jewelry. I showed him the repairs GCA had done for me, and the prices charged for the repairs, and he just could not believe it. Then he asked around and heard from other friends in the biz- that GCA is the best. Greg has helped me design pieces, repaired items, made honest suggestions, sourced weird-shaped stones for my diamond dreams, all while being fair, friendly, and funny. Diamonds may be a girl's best friend.... but GCA Jewelers is not far behind! read more
