Martin is an amazing person, let alone electrician. I have had him rewire dedicated circuits for my theater room, new panel on the whole house, re-do prior incorrect wiring, install car charger in my garage, properly hook up garage subpanel, and permanently wire in the garage lighting that was just daisy chained to extension cables when we bought the house. The guy is honest, fair, and does top notch work. The couple of folks complaining on here are most likely unaware that for quality electricians you don't pay "I know a guy" prices. That said I didn't find his prices any worse than any other electricians out there that I would trust with high dollar item dedicated wiring. read more

Martin was awesome! He came from another job and was here incredibly fast - within 2 hours form even finding out about my problem. I'm moving into an older house with an old (dangerous!) dryer outlet - the kind that was banned in the mid 90s. He took me around to the breaker box and talked me through everything. Then we just chatted while he worked his magic. Almost before I knew it he was done and there was a shiny new (and most importantly - SAFE) outlet. We plugged the dryer in and I was off to the races, finally able to do laundry in my own house. Super friendly and professional, Martin was a pleasure to work with. I list partial lighting in my home. My mom depends on electricity for her medical equipment. I called Edison and they were of no help. They came and kept turning the power off which contributed to the breakers going out. I called GC Electrical because I believe in helping the underdog and going with small businesses. His page said he had honest prices and dependable work. The first red flag, he wanted me to Zelle him $100 before even coming over to check out my breakers, to make sure I wasn't wasting his time. 2nd red flag, he finished within 40 minutes or so. Rang the doorbell and said, "Okay, lights are on, breakers show they have power. He called me out to show me. He was ready to leave when I stopped him and said I'll check if the lights are on. No power! 3rd flag, when I asked him to check, he said, I have to troubleshoot and that's $200 for an hour! Wait a minute, you didn't fix anything, I still paid $360, and you want additional money? Absolutely not. Head in a hurry and said his time required he be paid because he did not work for free. I contacted James Arsgon, a licensed electrician, and found the problem. Edison turned the breakers on and off so many times that they burned 2 additional breakers. He didn't check all of them therefore GC Ekectrical wouldn't have found the problem. It took him 2 hours but Janes Aragon checked the kitchen outlets and replaced the 2 additional bresjers. Let me also mention that I ordered the 2 breakers, that GC Electrical needed. One was the wrong size because I was given the wrong description. Long story short, I'm reporting it to the BBB. Do yourself a huge favor, don't use GC Electrical. I have never written a review before, but this company is not worth hiring. read more

Martin promptly came to our house to re-set our SMA Solar Technology Sunny Boy inverter from the solar panels feeding into our household panel. It was reassuring to have Martin re-set the inverter, given his experience installing solar systems for the State of California. We both did not know why the inverter went off-line, but after 10 minutes and $125 service call fee, our house is now getting solar power again. Do not hire. Martin was not professional and wanted to tell me how I was wrong about resetting a breaker in my panel. I've had three people reset, including myself. Instead of you saying I'm not sure what happened but let's talk about the overload on this breaker and how to repair it, you preferred to argue about how someone with her doctorate can't flip a breaker. By the way Martin, you stated I'm not electrical. The correct way of saying it is that I'm not an electrician, and I'm not, but doesn't take much to know my breaker has too much over load and needs to be split but you couldn't do. He said he'd come give us an estimate on Friday before 5 PM but that to install 3 cameras for our company it'd be about $350-$400. 4 PM on Friday came around and he called to cancel stating he'd be in on Monday before 3:30 PM. 1:30 PM on Monday comes by and he calls to let me know that he would be here on Tuesday. He finally comes and in the middle of a conversation leaves to "take an important call"...I'm talking mid-sentence conversation that he walked away from. Suddenly the $350-$400 over the phone quote jumped to $1,691. VERY unprofessional with the constant cancellation and misquoting over the phone. I wouldn't recommend. Prior to finding Martin I had done my research and gotten numerous quotes. He had the best price for the best service!!! Instantly we met him and he was so friendly and very well versed in his trade.
