As the Director of Facilities and Construction for a local Community College and a Construction Foreman for nearly 20 years, I have worked with tradesmen and contractors of all stripes--the good, the bad and the inept. SPD Electric Corp. is, hands down, the best electrical contractor I have ever worked with. From my initial call for an estimate to the completion of my project--a 200 amp panel upgrade and relocation for my electrical service--they were responsive, absolutely professional and, most importantly, masters of their trade. Samuel, the owner, is one of the most knowledgeable electricians I've ever encountered. Hands on throughout the project, he also communicated directly with SCE and the city inspector to ensure the project moved smoothly through all its phases and complied with every code and regulatory requirement. His workmanship and that of his workers, right down to the sub he used to patch and paint stucco, was impeccable. They worked with and around other trades so that the work flowed smoothly and efficiently. SPD's price was competitive and fair, and Samuel went above and beyond to complete adjunctive work needed to accommodate the installation of a new HVAC project for my home. SPD Electric Corp. is now MY electrician. I highly recommend them. Attached photo (before) shows old 100 amp FPE service (now deemed hazardous) located on interior wall. Attached photo (after) shows relocated and upgraded 200 amp service installed on exterior wall with stucco patching and painting complete. read more

Big shout out to Samuel for the work he did on installing my EV home charger. He was on time (I was not, and I am sorry!), super personable, and professional. He was upfront with his pricing which was fair, and he got the job done. Anytime I need electrical work Samuel and SPD will be my choice for our house. He even checked out some other things for me which he'll come back and address. Thanks for your work! If I could give him 10 stars I would. read more

Second time using them to install a light fixture. My go to electricians from now on!

Flawless! ...is how I would describe my experience in one word with SPD Electric. I needed a Tesla Wall Connector installed in my home. Samuel offered a competitive price for the service. Not only that, but he was able to answer all of the EV charger related questions/technical concerns that I had. He was even familiar with the Tesla Wall Connector manual and the specific requirements it mentions. I've had EV chargers installed a few times at a previous home but had bad experiences from those (outlet burning, work not done to code, etc). Samuel was very professional and reassured me of his quality work every step of the way. From discussing the technical details of the install, mentioning how/why the install would be done a specific way, getting the permitting completed, being there for the county's inspection, etc. All of this done in a timely fashion as well. Highly, highly recommended! Will definitely look to working with SPD electric again for any of my future electrical needs! read more

SPD Electric provides professional, fast and efficient work! They gave us ballpark estimates on the work upfront, which I really appreciated. They arrived on time and completed everything quickly. They even vacuumed the area once they were done. Some of these things may seem like common courtesy or common sense but we've had other electricians charge exorbitant rates, show up late, not make good on promises and sometimes leave a very big mess behind. SPD Electric even fixed a couple of things that were left unfinished by a prior electrician. Thanks SPD for doing such a great job! We hope to use you again in the future! read more

Samuel was able to do our request in a timely manner. He was knowledgeable, professional and gave options to what we requested. Also the quote was appropriate or comparable to the others. I will use him for any future needs for electrical work. We used him to add a floor outlet where desk will be placed. We have no outlet in hallway upstairs. We wanted the basic white floor, he recommended a specific floor one but bc this will be covered by a desk we didn't want the floor one. Thanks for the work! read more

I had to get my solar panel system repair because it was shorted from the recent heatwave. The company I hired to install the panels years ago went under and out of business. I pay for the $299 diagnostic inspection from a reputable company and was quoted an insane price to get it repair. I search on Yelp and found SPD. They were guaranteed by Yelp so it was worth a shot. I sent Samuel my inspection report and he said he was able to repair it for a fraction of the cost. He didn't say it would guarantee to work but it was worth a start to get the system running. He changed a few breakers and connectors and sure enough he got my system up and running. I'm very grateful for SPD. They gave me an honest quote and didn't try to overcharge me on anything I didn't need. Samuel is the best and I would definitely use him again for any future electrical needs. Thanks Samuel. read more

They came quickly and took care of my problem. He explained clearly and was such a nice person.

Their tech was on time, checked out the issue and fixed the problem in 15 minutes. The charge was $300. Another vendor was there just prior and told me he'd have to replace the entire fuse box and wiring and rewire my entire kitchen. He wanted to charge me $6000! Yeaaahh... NO...Be careful, there are crooks out there, get more than one estimate. read more

They could show up when they tell you they will. Or at least call you to let you know there's a delay. I had to call them when they were a half hour late and they told me they were going to be another 2 1/2 hours. I had a very good experience with SPD Electric. Even though the job was very small, install a door bell at my house, SPD Electric provided me with a free estimate. The price was very competitive, compared to other quotes; most of them charging for the estimate. SPD Electric showed up on time, as discussed with Sam. Sam installed the door bell, then checked the system to make sure everything was working properly. Sam was very helpful and knowledgeable. He explained to me the different types of systems, wired system, wireless system and programmable system with integrated camera. He also provided pricing for all systems and made my decision very easy. Sam finished the installation, cleaned up the area, and asked me to give him a call if anything was not working properly. Sam makes you feel comfortable, without any pressures. I will definitely call SPD Electric again. read more
