I go to this gym because of convenience - it's close to my house and has multiple locations in Fresno/Clovis (+1 star) HOWEVER, there are so many things wrong with this place. This is literally the most disgusting gym ive been do, the Herndon/Fowler location, that is. First of all, there is always dust bunnies in every single corner of the gym. The ladies that clean the gym are always on their phone or chit-chatting with clients. Ive never seen any of them thoroughly cleaning the gym. Today when I went, there was a huge snot rocket slash booger on the sink that looked like it had been sitting there for a while - see photo. (This facility is so disgusting ... so -2 stars) The workers in the front don't ever greet members. Seriously, never. (this isn't a big deal to me, so -0.5 stars). Parking is the worst here. Pretty difficult to find parking from 5-7 pm on a weekday. (not really their fault, so -0.5 stars). There is a trainer here that literally counts EVERY SINGLE REP for his clients. This was seriously so annoying while working out. Then he goes on and has his client do a minute plank, and I thought I'd get a break, but he literally counts every single number from 60 down to 0. Apparently this gym can't afford to restock paper towels in the bathrooms. Like ever. It's so annoying being drenched in sweat wanting to dry off and there being none every single day!!!. Or just needing to dry off your wet hands after washing SO annoying. There will be a little bare dirty roll over where they have the " clorox " wipes that are either bone dry or sopping wet ?? Not to mention that table is always nasty dirty covered in various particles hair and wet puddles. It's not like the staff cares if you let them know so I have no choice but to leave a review so maybe the owner can see? It's SO dusty Everywhere. I see the cleaning ladies clean the same couple machine over when no one is even using them but there will be no paper towels in the bathroom and the whole gym is covered in dust especially the back room past the aerobics classes. But They will be mopping the floor in heavy traffic areas when the gym is filled with people. I don't get it. The yoga mats are disgusting too and obviously never get cleaned. I have been going to this gym for the past several years and never in those years have i ever encountered an employee be that racist or disrespectful. I was doing my normal everyday martial arts training while on the boxing bag in the corner and this employee(black gb3 shirt, blue jeans & white shoes) comes up to me saying "if you dont put your shoes on, im gonna have to tell you to leave" i tried explaining to him that other people have their shoes off too and his reply was "and i have been telling them to put them on too". I have been coming to this gym for more than 4 years and i have never encountered any employee be rude to me. Alot of people take their shoes off while doing certain different workouts and then they put them back on and then go and i do the same everyday. But this guy was so rude about it. It seemed so racist because I saw so many people have their shoes off while squatting or using the yoga matches to stretch or workout but he only came up to me to say that. I suggest the gym administration to reconsider hiring this guy. An act like this does not deserve a second chance... it only builds up. read more

I canceled my membership after only three months. This gym came up short on nearly every expectation. Beware, this gym will surely disappoint the majority of you. I will start with the locker room - they were filthy and had no towel service. Putting the staff on notice of sanitary issues in the locker room garnered nothing more than platitudes and shoulder shrugs. Next, the equipment. While this gym is big and has a good selection of equipment, they did not plan or organize any of it efficiently. The maze-like layout leaves one dizzy as you attempt to navigate the cable machines. The trendy crossfit equipment encroaches terribly on the rowing machines. And what is with the armada of broken down recumbent bikes? Finally the staff. At not a single moment did I ever feel like an appreciated customer at this gym. Ignored on the way in most of the time and on the way out nearly every time. Nearly every encounter left me with the impression I had burdened someone. Spend your money elsewhere. This gym will not care about you as a customer. read more

Always packed no matter what time of the day. No one wipes down anything. Full of teenagers in large groups hanging out by each machine for excessive amounts of time. Free weight section is an absolute zoo at all times. Almost impossible to find a free bench to use. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. read more

I have been going to this gym for 18 months my favorite location is the clovis one the staff there is very helpful and it's cleaner than the other locations for sure plus they always adding new machines or updating them , the only thing that none of the water coolers have cold water just warm one that suckssssss. read more

I've been to almost all gb3 locations but Clovis is by the worst. People can't simply wipe down their machines after using them, or simply wear their mask correctly (over your whole nose) if I can run with my mask on and be okay I know we can all wear our masks correctly while working out. The staff is alright, although I was a little irritated when I forgot my membership card iand the gal turned into a dictator/hall monitor and berated me for not doing so....a conversation that ate into my sparse morning gym time. The equipment is alright, although a bit intimidating at times and I've never received any indication on if they provide some sort of tutorial. I'm no stranger to fitness, but sometimes I'm confused when I see their latest contraption. Alright, time for the real reason why they didn't receive five or even four stars: I can't find a disinfectant bottle and a wipe down towel anywhere. They honest to god do not enforce a "wipe down your equipment" rule at this gym!!! That just grosses me out and I've brought it up to the staff quite a few times. Supposedly there's someone who goes around and wipes down equipment, but I've only seen her in the cardio area. GB3 is the reason I bought my own ab/utility bench....because every time I went to use theirs, there was a puddle of sweat on the bench. Ewwwww! read more

In town for a bit, so I joined the local gym - $70 for a 1-month membership, which, for me, is more economical than paying $10/day. I am told this is the best gym this town has to offer. I think it's a solid mid-tier fitness center. There are high ceilings and the place is lit up bright. There's really not much to do in this neck of the woods, so this is the kick it spot for people watching, scoring a date, etc. The place gets pretty crowded in the early mornings and early evenings. I primarily do indoor cycling (i.e. Soul Cycle, Equinox Pursuit, etc.), and found the facilities here decent. They use Keiser bikes which are good-looking equipment with a similar reputation. I've attended a few classes and so far, so good - Good playlist. The classes are first come, first serve, and they do tend to fill up, so early (20-30 min.) arrival is necessary. read more

The most stinky and crowded GB3 location out of other locations, and I mean it. The moment you enter into this location the whiff of stench of some kind of odor comes attacking you, I have no idea what is that smell, but it smells bad. I hope the management would improve on that. I have been to other GB3 and others don't have this smell. The gym has a lot of space for workout, but the flow of workout area is not as smooth as others. I only come here because it is the only GB3 in the clovis area. Which makes this place very crowded during most hours of the day. The staff here is not the friendliest. I wished the improved on that, make the gym experience a better more friendly place for check in and walk out. Excellent equipment variety. Plenty of options for cardio, free weights, machines etc. it's the #1 gym in the Central Valley w FIVE LOCATIONS! Plenty cardio classes included in the low monthly membership. It gets crowded but there is still plenty of workout equipment options and I always get awesome workouts here. That being said, train wherever you love the vibe most. Just train!!! GB3 is simply a great option w cool vibes... staff keeps this place clean and orderly. People are generally polite and friendly. read more

My comment may help you decide to join or pass. From all the reviews that others have written, they are all true and honest. Let's break this place apart for you. Price: my opinion from multiple gym a little to high. Staff: always on their phone and not the inviting people. Equipment: Hugh variety, but also find items broken. Mostly treadmills Cleanliness: Excellent Mask enforcement: terrible If your looking for space to workout: Ab's has a lot of space. Free weights: never enough unless you are working out with over 70lbs. Machines: plenty of them available, most ones used up when it's that time of the week are back and Triceps machines. Lately timing has become more important then usually. Mornings become packed from 7-9am, also 1-3pm also busy and the worst time to find space will be from 5-8pm. I hope this helps you decide what you're signing up for. I would like to note that the people that workout out their are friendly and helpful. So if you need a hand of advise I'm sure they will provide you with the information your seeking. They also provide trainer's but only if you just signed up for a couple of free sections after that you will pay for assistance. My ratings is based on the availability and cleanliness and I will leave the staff out, because that is an issue on its own. read more

I come here to swim and I don't hang around. I walk in, jump in, jump out, and leave. I like it for what it provides. Every other day I see a guy cleaning around the pool and the water looks clean. Early in the morning, I have a very good chance of getting my own lane. I wish there were backstroke flags but that is my biggest complaint. The water is always just slightly chilly but once you get in and get going it is perfect. read more

I honestly loooove coming to this gym! I always go at night, so there really is no crowd and can definitely get your workout in without anyone bothering you and asking when you're gonna finish on a machine. My only problem is though, are the people that work there, mostly the female employees at the front. I have never met people that are more rude than them. They always converse with one another, and don't seem to care that someone is at the front trying to check in. They make you wait until they are done having a conversation before asking for your number. I'm done with these petty girls, being rude for no reason. Peacefully working out alone away from everyone else, a floor vaccumer comes all the way over to me and says to put my mask on. I said alright and he left. 5 mins later he sees me; with my mask on my chin like half the gym and comes only to me and brings a front desk lady. I said if y'all gonna be coming to me for this then you better be going to every other person and doing the same. I pulled my mask up, they left and didn't say anything to anyone else. Next day I come in, and they said my membershipnis cancelled and didn't even notify me. I will be filing harassment. If your gonna cancel my membership because if this without even letting me know then half the gyms memberships better be cancelled. I don't recommend this location. I'm not a gym rat by any stretch. My take on working out is similar to that of going to the dentist: it's a necessary evil to keep from dying prematurely. And just like I grudgingly drag my sorry ass to the dentist every six months, I grudgingly drag my sorry ass to the gym five times a week. That said, I quite like this gym. It's spacious, full of equipment, and really clean. In fact, there is always someone wiping down the equipment, sweeping the floors, or cleaning the windows when I'm there. There are several models of the more popular machines, so I can count on one hand (after three years) the number of times I've had to queue up to use something. The staff is nice, too. They greet you warmly when you walk in and call out "Have a great day!" when you leave. When my nephew, who has limited English, went to the gym with me for the first time, a guy took him around and patiently showed him the men's locker facilities and how to use some of the equipment. Cool. They get four stars for three reasons: 1. Their bank of televisions. You can watch Fox News (which I detest), ESPN (I'm not a sports fan), or some lame talk show or another if you go there in the afternoon. If you arrive early in the morning, you can watch Fox News (see previous sentence) or a Bible show (is this really appropriate is a secular setting, a place of business frequented by people of many faiths and creeds?). One Saturday afternoon they were showing a movie about strippers. I'm no prude by any stretch of the imagination (she who writes reviews of adult toy shops), but I was there on my elliptical machine thinking, "Boy, if I had children using this gym right now I'd be pissed." 2. The noise level. The sound of piped in 70s rock-n-roll competing with the noise of 200+ folks using workout equipment can leave one wishing they'd brought earplugs. I have, in fact, seen people wearing earplugs. If you go early in the morning (when the Arkansan evangelical is haranguing you to send a donation to a P.O. Box), the music is an absolute cacophony, so much so that you have to shout to give your membership number when you arrive. I've complained about this and was told that the staff have no way of turning down the music. Eh? 3. The lack of quickie shower facilities outside of the steam room and sauna. Nothing gives me the hebegebes quite like the site of a sweaty dude stumbling from the sauna to my lane in the pool for a quick, refreshing dip. There is a sign asking folks to shower before using the pool, but I've never seen anyone do it. read more

Terrible experience at this gym. I was in from out of town and I have a membership to 24 hour fitness.... None of which exist in Clovis. So my buddy tells me about this place. I go on the website and see if they have a guest pass... Which they do so I'm stoked. Once I get there the girl at the front was extremely rude and tells me to pay $10. I asked about the guest pass and she said you can only use that if you have a local address. Pretty lame not mention it does not state that anywhere on the guest pass or website. I told her $10 was kind of high and she told me to go to Ballys. I mean who is that rude to a new customer. My friend wanted to just leave but I really still wanted to get my workout going. So I pulled out some cash and handed it to the rude girl. Turns out she didn't have change in the register so still wouldn't let me in. At this point it was a bit frustrating because 90% of gyms would likely let you in at this time... I mean I tried to pay but they can't accept my money. But nope...not this tumor rude girl. Instead I have to walk around the strip mall to find my own change. Once I went in the gym was nothing special. Had most machines and weights I use but was extremely cluttered in design. Everything was really close together and was hard to move around. They don't have a towel service and I didn't see a single person with a towel to clean up their sweaty messes. Hopefully I don't have to go back here again because it's not worth the $10 per day.... But even more important is the complete lack of customer service by some miserable young girl working the front desk is totally unacceptable. read more

The gyms has or had a lot of potential. The place is over packed with equipment, some that are needed and other that are not. The amount of cardio equipment would be a great asset if it was being used. But over 50% lays dormant. Which causes the space issue. Most of the equipment for lifting is crammed into an area for only half of it. If you have better option in the Clovis area, I would seek them out. The membership customer service could be improved as well. Not one call back about the membership I paid for. read more

This GB3 location used to be one of the cleanest, however NOT in the last 6 months. It's ALMOST as bad as the SUNNYSIDE GB3. Sad, but true. The Sunnyside Gb3 has been at the bottom of ANY gym but now Clovis too. Sooo sad. At Sunnyside, I RARELY see anyone cleaning, they get all the hand me downs from the other gyms, probably 25 maHoles in the wall. YUK !! I've been to all of the GB3 locations in Fresno aside from the newest Kings Canyon location, and this one's the best. Much larger with more machines, benches, and overall equipment than the Cedar and Nees location. There's a huge pool, large spa, showers, sauna, and steam room. Also has a day care and a juice bar I've never seen anybody order from. When compared to the newer Palm and Nees location, I still prefer this one. Though the Palm location is considered the "upscale" one, the newer equipment there I feel is style over function. What may seem like a minor gripe, but every single free weight in there has rounded edges, whereas the hexagonal (or octagonal maybe, I honestly don't count the sides) weights found at the Herndon location allow you to set them down standing upright, which really comes in handy alot more often than you would think, especially if almost all of your exercise comes from free weights. So I can safely say that this is the best of all the George Brown's. I've heard the new Kings Canyon location is at least as small as the Cedar and Nees one, if not smaller. Only complaints are this place is relatively more expensive than Bally's for a membership, and even the pretentious Palm location can't match the class that the Gold's Gym on Friant and Ft. Washington had. But honestly, one of the best gyms in Fresno for people that want a serious work out. read more

Despite the reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's because I only did the Day Pass, but I still enjoyed these facilities. Day Pass is $10 and you sign in on a sheet, then you're ready to start working out. Lots of TVs over the cardio area, and no machines that I could see were non-operational. One squat rack means it can be a waiting game if you go during peak times, so I went and checked out their other equipment. Everything was very clean and while there were a lot of people there it didn't feel crowded. People seem to go, work out and leave - which is awesome. Also utilized their shower facilities which were very nice. The hooks to hang stuff were right next to the curtain, so I just decided to hang my belongings on the corner of the shower door as it's much closer to me. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I've heard too many stories of items being stolen in locker rooms. Would definitely go back for another day pass if I'm in town. read more

I'm not a local but $10 for a day pass is great by my book. This location is big and the 4 times I have been here, it's been great. Front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I wish I had a gym like this with the low membership cost in Los Angeles. Those complaining about not getting a free pass because they are not local, get over it and budget some money for your health and don't be cheap!!!! read more

I've got to say, that these complaints about this gym are a little bit ridiculous. 1 star because someone stole from you? Yeah, that's 100% the gyms fault. You're mad because there's TOO MUCH equipment? Because you tested the gyms water and it's worse than at your house? Completely understandable, and reasonable. (Please note my sarcasm) The gym is crowded, but they do have a good deal of equipment, so you've generally got an alternative if the machine you want is occupied. I do wish there was another location somewhere in clovis in between the Herndon and Kings Canyon facilities. 24 hours would be nice too. Also, trainers that didn't insist on having their clients do sit ups directly underneath ALL leg equipment would be a pleasant change... That being said, I find the gym fully adequate for my needs. The staff always greets me, maybe not the friendliest people on the planet, but I'm not really looking for a best friend in the staff members. I like it. Would recommend it. read more
