Pretty solid gym overall, but there are definitely some things that could be improved. The biggest issue for me is the layout. It's basically one large open space where everything is mixed together--treadmills, weightlifting, and machines all in the same area. There are a couple of smaller rooms off to the side, but for the most part, about 95% of the gym is just one big open room with equipment stacked everywhere. It can honestly feel a little overwhelming. When you look around, it feels like a zoo at times with a huge number of people bouncing from one machine to the next. That said, I didn't really have an issue waiting for machines, even when it was busy--it's just crowded almost all the time. On the positive side, they do offer a lot of amenities: a pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and showers. I used the steam room and showers, which were nice, but keep in mind you need to bring your own towel and your own lock for the wall lockers. A day pass is $10, which isn't bad at all for what you get. Parking was pretty easy, and they also have a protein bar along with premade healthy meals available for purchase, which is convenient. Overall, it's a decent facility with good amenities and value, but the constant crowd and open layout make it feel more chaotic than relaxing. read more

I like the gym but I mostly go for the pool as it is better for my arthritis. However at times I have seen young boys, mainly teenagers play fighting and rough housing in the pool. Its supposed to be for exercise. If they want to mess around they should not be doing it there. read more

Been a member for 10 years, and then switched to water aerobics from weights. Lately the pool has been a mess. The pool deck screens are covered with yuck, flying bugs in the handicap shower, today paper and old bandaids on the cement. Water was cloudy last Monday and Tuesday pool was closed. I have shared pictures with main office, and been told they are working on it. 40-50 folks work out in the pool every morning but staff acts like we don't work out in the gym so we are just a bunch of old people. Shouldn't take 3 weeks to clean pool grates, and kill bugs. Dont look at the window sills by the equipment facing the pool. Brown sweat is gross. read more

This location isn't the worst GB3 in town when it comes to cleanliness and machine maintenance. What I do find unacceptable, however, is the ongoing issue of men openly cruising in the locker room and engaging in sexual activity on a regular basis. The staff really needs to do a better job addressing and mitigating this behavior at this location. I fully support equal rights and believe people should be free to love whoever they choose. That said, public indecency in a gym environment is inappropriate and unacceptable. I may contact management directly in hopes that stronger oversight and enforcement can be implemented. read more

I've been going to this gym for 16 years and every year it gets worse. The people at the front desk never look up and say hi when you come in, they're always on their phones. The gym equipment is not as clean as it used to be and the Wi-Fi is only working half the time. If you ask for help, they act annoyed to help you with anything. I can't wait until I can get my own gym equipment and cancel my membership. The tall thin guy with the dreads is the only nice person working there... They turned their entire kids area into a break room. It's really disappointing that the isolation restrictions have been lifted for over a year but there's no talk of opening the kids section again. The sinks in the ladies room have been broken for a while now and multiple weight machines are broken as well. read more

This is a decent gym. It could use a little freshening up and maybe a deep cleaning, but still a solid place to get a good workout in. This place is massive with plenty of weight machines to use and enormous cardio area that seems to take up most of the gym. Treadmills, stair machines, and stationary bikes can all be found in this area along with tons of TVs to keep your brain occupied while you walk in place for 40 minutes. My go to is the pool. The pool area has a steam room and a sauna along with a hot tub and a five lane, 25 yard lap pool. This is another place that could probably use a deep cleaning. A lot of the signage is showing it's age by looking dingy and missing letters. The pool itself could definitely use a scrubbing. So far I've swam here three times now and there's always at least one Band-Aid and a few balls of hair. All that to be said, you still can't beat in the price. I've been going to GB3 since 2014 and the Sunnyside location for a long time. I've moved away in 2019 and came back in 2022, about 90% of those equipment have been there since 2014 or longer. No upgrades or nothing and on top of that this year they couldn't even afford to get NFL to play on the d A M n tvs. Apparently they have dish only. I wonder if all locations are like that or is it just the Sunnyside location because people thing it's the ghetto. I don't even live in Fresno and it's the only location on my way home. But second guessing if this gym is even worth the suana/steam room anymore. I wonder if the rich side like Clovis and riverpark even have these issues? read more

This gym is adequate. It's in a good location and the price is right (for me). Don't expect the employees at the front desk to acknowledge you, let alone greet you. And for sure don't expect to be told to have a nice day as you leave. They don't have time to stop their own conversations with each other for that kind of basic humanity. They also dont seem physically capable of answering a phone, as evidenced by the few times I've tried to call to get basic information. The equipment is fine and (mostly) in working order. Gym goers are mostly good, polite people, except when they appear in groups. Then they are more important than anyone else in the world, and no one can tell them otherwise, which is why I'm sure the gym employees don't even bother asking groups of people to be considerate of others. I'll keep coming here, but if anyone had the idea of opening a gym in the area where the employees acted with basic human graces and enforced the idea of people being considerate to others, GB3 would lose a LOT of business. read more

I have been attending this gym multiple times a week for the past 9 months, and am happy to share my experience. Cost is reasonable. Adrian who signed me up was kind, straight forward, and gave me all the info needed in a super quick and efficient manner. Cleanliness overall is good, but I feel that areas around bases of machines, pillars, and stretching areas are due for a deeper, more thorough clean more often. I say this because tufts of dust/hair have been present in multiple areas and have gotten on sweatshirts & shoes (If this were addressed it would definitely bump it up a star). I appreciate the wipes and spray in various areas for machine seats/handles though. Savannah at the front check-in always acknowledges me with a smile. I also took advantage of the free personal training sessions and then opted for paid ones after. My trainer, Doug is encouraging and has helped me build my strength and stamina. The crown jeweI of this place- Dance Fitness Classes! I cannot say enough about the crazy fun Dance Fitness Classes. Dancing each week in lively groups, led by instructors Jared & Manny, has brought such a sense of joy to working out for me. It truly is "exercise in disguise!" Latin, Hip-hop, Pop & more- routines that make you feel like a back-up dancer...no joke-seriously like you could be on a stage!!! This week, I got to meet the gym's namesake himself, George Brown. He was very personable, kind, and encouraging too. Loved that he is hands-on and connecting directly with members. I am a proud member of GB3, and would definitely recommend this gym! read more

Gb3 in clovis has everything you need. If you ever been to a 24 hr fitness, la fitness , it is just like any other commercial gym. Has all the machines and free weights you need. A couple smith machines and a lot of cardio machines. They have classes that you can join and has a sauna, steamer, and pool that are all coed. The month the month payment is $30 and a one time initial start cost. $10 per day guest pass. They have lockers and showers as well. They have 2 Seperate rooms, on for abs and then another for racks and open space for more exercises that requires more space. The staff is nice and welcoming. The gym is not going to blow you away like a luxury gym, but has everything you need to lift weights and get a good workout in. The only con is that it is usually packed. From 4-7 it will be busy. The gym is not as clean and remodeled as other gyms. The equipment has a mix of old equipment and new equipment. The lighting is a little dark. read more

Went here for 8 yrs haven't been back in about 8 years.. went today to see what's up.. the gym is 7x more packed at this time. Lines for nearly every machine and dumbell.. no one cleans there equipment after use. Idk how anyone can get a full/planned workout in because of all the talking... This place has gone down hill... After 17 years of being a member... I left. All my concerns have gone ignored by staff. (The front desk staff is rude, arrogant and just stares at you even if you are trying to be cordial) None of the rules of the club are enforced... They are still allowing people to eat on the gym floor, kick around huge duffle bags, film videos, and generally just create a chaotic toxic environment. I am tired of walking through the mens locker rooms with dudes constantly blocking the toilets, sinks and lockers so they can pose and film in the locker room while it clearly states "NO FILMING IN LOCKER ROOMS". There is always trash everywhere, protein powder is always all over the place... People need to grow the F up.. I am over all this juvenile BS and the low caliber of people they hire. read more

Was a member here for many years and I have renewed my membership. Everything about this place in terms of its exercise equipment and classes are great. Even though it is super busy, the custodians do a great job of keeping everything clean. I do miss having the child care available there, and I understand that due to the virus they probably won't have it anymore. I do notice that the people at the front desk don't exactly greet members as they enter anymore, which is what I remembered from the past. I noticed this happening when I visited the GB3 on Millburn as well. Going to the gym requires a motivation. Having great enthusiastic front desk makes such a big difference as it inspires. We went to try the gym to see if we'd like it. We paid the $10 per person to work out that evening. It's applied to your balance if you choose to join later. It was around 8pm on a Wednesday. - I have to agree with the many reviews here: the staff at the entrance does not look welcoming. The two girls behind the counter just looked at us as we were approaching. No greeting, no smile...A male staff was also there, sitting nearby. He was on his phone, barely looked at us, did not say anything. We explained that we were interested in joining but wanted to experience the gym first to see if we'd like it. One girl explained the $10 fee per person, took our payment, and told us that we were "all set." No offer for a guided tour or anything. - The place is very big, but it was extremely crowded, and not in a good way. The way the room is set up contributed to create a chaotic, stressful atmosphere with people being everywhere, including in the "aisles". The great number of members is probably why potential customers are not that important. They probably are not interested in signing up more people at this time. The parking lot is very big, and still, we had a hard time finding a spot because it was full when we arrived! - Most people were focused on doing their thing. Nothing against teenagers, most are fine, but some were a little rude and a little loud. - I tried the treadmill. It worked well. Most other machines were used. I noticed that no one wiped the equipment, before or after their workout. - We checked out the pool area. There were several people enjoying the hot tub in their bathing suits, and one person walking in the pool back and forth, all dressed-up, not in a swimming-suit. It bothers me that people go into the pool in what looks like regular clothes. - Steam room: most people go in there in their workout clothes and tennis shoes. Don't sit on the bottom row but top one since the lower sitting area will most likely be dirty (shoes). - I like that there are fitness classes at that location. Haven't tried them, just saw the schedule. - Women's bathroom were okay. Overall: not impressed. I felt like it could be cleaner in general. It was also too crowded for me. I understand it was a busy time, but it's also the time we'd most likely use the gym, so we wanted to experience that on purpose. read more

Finally got around to freezing my account until I can cancel it. I rejoined to be able to use the pool, but I've not felt comfortable since the water always looks a bit murky and smells heavily of chlorine. It's also so hard to get a workout in. The free weight area is so cramped and lacks an adequate amount of equipment for the amount of people waiting to use it. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, the cramped workout areas and the inability to use the pool, has pushed me back to PF, where I at least can use the equipment and get a decent workout in, in a clean environment. read more

Today I paid a guest fee to swim at GB3. Unbeknownst to me when I went out to the pool it was closed for a water aerobics class. I was told by a member, the class would end at 10:00 a.m. (it was 9:10 a.m. at the time.) I was headed out of town and did not have time to wait until the pool opened at 10 for lap swimming. I changed back into my street clothes and went to the front desk to ask for a credit toward a future visit, (not a refund!) The young man who check me in initially said the water aerobics class was going to be over at 9:30 a.m. (Again, I was on a tight schedule and needed to get on the road.) I have paid the GB3 guest fee and used the pool many times over the past 3 years because my daughter lives in Clovis and I come there regularly to visit. I again explained my situation to the young man at the front desk and he said I could come back anytime that day to use the facilities (pool). I again reiterated I was on a tight schedule and needed to head out of town. I expressed my frustration with the policy and told the young man it was something he should bring to his manager. BTW I was a gym owner and managed 2 other gyms in my past, so I know what reasonable gym customer service should look like, and this wasn't it! Very disappointed in this poor customer service and a policy that doesn't allow for flexibility. read more

Multiple people in the valley have told me that the front desk at GB3 has absolutely terrible customer service. Just from a single visit, I can assure you this is true. The front desk at this gym is INCREDIBLY rude and unprofessional. There was a very young woman with brown hair and glasses who sat on a a stool and got extremely annoyed when I had inquired about opening membership. The weight room is too small. Dozens of treadmills go unused while people wait for free weights and benches. Equipment hogs will leave their keys and wallets on benches and machines to reserve them while they use something else. Meanwhile there are people standing around waiting to use them. The staff doesn't enforce any rules so it's up to the member to confront the equipment hog and they're usually aggressive about it. If you're confrontational and want to get into a fight this is the gym for you. I decided to edit this after reading some of the other comments. The gym is clean, the staff are constantly walking around and cleaning. I've never been there when they weren't cleaning. And for all you Karen's complaining about them not enforcing masking, just shut it. If you want to wear a mask wear a mask, it helps the rest of us identify the idiots in the room. I've been a member here for quite some time and has been a good place to work out and get motivated to stay healthy. There is a Farm Fresh that serves food and drink for a pre and post workout meal. Lots of equipment to choose from. Staff cleaning the equipment on the other hand is marginal and it's way better to clean your own equipment before and after use. With the Covid-19 scare, GB3 now stocks Clorox wipes to clean and sanitize your area. Front staff can very from friendly to indifferent but otherwise it's just checking in to get your workout done. It usually gets crowded here after 3pm when the kids get out of school and in the early morning when people have to get a workout before work. read more

The good part is there is always a Hispanic lady always cleaning and very friendly. As others have said the front desk people are not friendly what so ever. There is a older gentleman with gray hair that is rude and when he is training people walks ahead of them and does not seem friendly to them. Can you please fix the 2 women's sink handle they have been broken for over a year now. If you are not going to use the playroom, move some equipment in there so it is not so crowded on the floor. It would be nice to update the walls, add some color something positive or some type of useful tips. Maybe have employees walk around and ask if anyone needs help or questions. So much can be done. I arrived to the gym this morning with my girlfriend and her friend. We came to check in and this Asian lady at the front desk gave us a bad ass attitude for no apparent reason. This isn't the first time because this has happened on multiple occasions. There needs to some type of employee etiquette training. I personally don't recommend this gb3 because of this. read more

Pretty good gym. Some of the equipment is getting old and outdated but still works. It is usually pretty crowded, but there's enough equipment to accommodate. Evening time is full of teenagers horsing around; go in the morning if you want to have a better experience. My only complaint is the sauna smells so bad you can taste it. Not even joking, it's bad bad! Overall, can't beat the bang for the buck. read more

I have been in too many gyms and believe me this one is the best in terms of size, cleanannes, stuff and equipment variety. This GB3 is great! It's way less crowded than the Kings Canyon location. It's also better kept than the Kings Canyon location.
