Dipping into year number 3 of absolutely consistent focused weight training. Even as I'm leaving the gym, I can't WAIT to get back in! I've increased my days and am now also doing the treadmill, too. Whatever insomnia I initially suffered from was RESOLVED the first week of training. It's virtually impossible to NOT fall asleep in 3-4 minutes and I mean EVERY NIGHT! That alone was worth getting busy, stopping with making excuses and taking greater responsibility for MY "HEALTH SPAN." Who else gonna do that? It's a super disciplined time of my life and that extends to every habit, what I eat, drink, watch, listen to, allow myself to be around and it's GOOD! I give all glory to God for giving me clarity with each issue, to not dither on important matters! I AM thinking about tomorrows! This gym, its variety, the proximity and the range of what's possible over time is intriguing. As a sci-fi fan, who years ago named his 'voice-controlled' home, "Moon Base Alpha," the design of this gym compliments my aesthetic. EVERY cell in your body will benefit and it doesn't hurt that I look like a freaking stud! lol Didn't set out that way, but I'll take it 'cause it came along with targeting my insomnia through weight training. Lot's of hormones going on at any gym and it's not hard to shut down 'the look' from both guys and gals. Psst, take a number! lol In no way is the gym a social thing for me. It's the most greedy/selfish time of the day, by NECESSITY! Any air expended beyond that to achieve lift is conserved! The greatest gains I've made have been with prep/warm ups and doing each lift to exhaustion with only '1 or none' left in the tank. Not hard to understand, it's a stimulus/response sending the signals to the cells to BUILD capacity. But here's the thing... Dedicated and consistent exercise/weight training WILL improve EVERY organ in the body when combined with a solid diet and hydration with unsweetened water. A case could be made for some carbs doing an intense, longer training demand. I'm using 50% watermelon juice and 50% water. Occasionally, post-workout I hit "ultra filtered milk" and some ovalteen. Although I'm not lactose intolerant, that u-filted milk is much higher in protein and calcium so I'm upping my intake. I do NOT use powders, creatine or health related 'products,' bars, drinks... Instead I use REAL foods, full of fiber and eat proteins with meals, tons of grains, fruits, veggies, nuts, yogurt, etc. I do NOT buy into all the gym bodybuilding hype out there with folks 'selling' stuff. And I know from my own gains that 'the fundamentals' are safer and it's working. As a guy with a mesomorph body type, it's getting good! Viking ancestor genes ACTIVATE! As expected, IF one does not simply begin somewhere, build gradually, and then put that work in, you may be kicking important cans down the road. With the understanding that there ARE 168 hours in the week, I asked myself 'how MANY of those hours are folks/myself actually investing/using to exercise?' It's an interesting question. All the personal benefits, gains, enhancements in body/mind/soul--the disease avoidance/mitigations possible--are among the things that I've come to most value. KNOWING the efforts are sound. And even if you're not 'shopping' it's always nice to be noticed positively. Like any tool used to accomplish a task, the gym is perhaps the most significant one I have to take advantage of and I'm grateful to the Lord for always providing what I most need, insight! Walking into the right decisions is critical! I can only imagine how this consistent effort will preserve and enhance function, independence and ability into every season of life! Best Gym in the damn world it is the Costco of gyms better than planet fitness and they just opened up the former kids club area to a private more quiet Workout area with freeways so they have 2 Giant free weight areas and various machines. It is amazing. Best G3 is palm out of all of them. They need one in Madera. read more

GB3 bills itself as an upscale gym, but there are a lot of details that make it more of a mid range gym. The drop-in process is easy and the fee is reasonable at $10. The gym itself is huge, but while there's a lot of equipment, most of it is cardio machines. The weight area needs some attention: there's only two benches for bench pressing, the 2.5lb weights are scarce, there are no clips for the barbells, and there could be more cable machines. The locker rooms could use a refresh: they are a bit dirty and the lockers could use a refresh. The pool here is really weird. The shape means that one of the lanes is unusable for lap swimming, and the pool is way too warm. All in all, this gym is ok, but I would never join it as a regular gym. read more

Solid gym if you're looking for affordability. This gym is also one of the larger ones aside from the new Crunch fitness. My issue with this gym is it's poorly maintained. The equipment is old/worn out and staff are not friendly. They also got rid of all fitness classes and the GB3 kids area. I would consider if you live close by and just need a place to work out but don't expect it to be amazing. read more

Madison at the front counter is the absolute best! She is always friendly, and a breath of fresh air early in the morning. I forgot my card multiple times, and without hesitation she has assisted me, with a smile and helpful attitude. I am always happy when I open the doors and she her at the front desk. Gym is alright. Better than Planet Fitness... but definitely mid. Front desk people are usually pretty terrible like every other mid gym. Nothing generally special about this gym and parking here is pretty tough. Remember you have to stay a member for 13 months if you sign up even if it's month to month... so don't sign up if you're not sure. I scanned my card and heard the beep. I said thanks. No response, just more dead eye contact, as if I was inconveniencing her. She literally did not say a word. This happened just now 4/30/2025 at 6:55 am. The woman is a young blond woman. Kind of strange customer service. I understand not everyone wants to chat at the check-in desk (I usually don't) but if you're going to stare at me in silence like I am an inconvenience to you, at least respond in a socially appropriate way to "hello" or "thanks" before going back to swiping on Tinder, or TikTok, or whatever you're doing. read more

Customer service was horrible. When cancelling my membership, a representative from this location told me that I had time the following month to cancel. I got billed anyway and despite me calling them back and calling the corporate office, they would not budge in returning my money. This is despite me not using the facility for months. Van is such a great trainer and he will really get you motivated and get your morning started right! Today is his birthday and he stepped up the motivation and spin family love! He also wore an M&M spin outfit and passed out fun size M&Ms for a reward! ;)~ Great workout! Whipped in all the right ways! The only workout you regret is the one you didn't do! The rest of the gym is great too! Clean, safe and practiced. In respect to others, just clean up your station after you use it. I've heard a lot of people complain that GB3 is too busy, but that hasn't been my experience at the Palm & Nees location. I do have a problem with people who wear regular clothes & shoes into the pool. Is it possible those sneakers are "only-pool" shoes? Yes, I suppose that's possible. Is it likely? I somehow doubt it. I've seen patrons hop in the gym wearing what appears to be the clothes they worked out in and that's just not okay. Bruv, put swim trunks on and take those shoes off! I also think it wise to post signs asking people water exercises in-place (marching, stretching, lifting those water dumbbells) congregate in the same lane. Sometimes there's two of them but they each take up a separate lane, which is not a very efficient use of space when swimmers are waiting for lanes. Two, three, or even four water aerobic members can share the same lane because they aren't swimming but are working out in place. So that would be nice to have that rule in place. Also towels but that's probably a pipe dream. Other than those relatively minor complaints, I like this gym and have no problem finding space in the free weights, racks, or aerobic equipment. read more

This facility was cleaner than the one on Kings Canyon and the Champlain location. Especially the bathrooms without toilet paper but I do wish I saw staff cleaning as frequently as Planet Fitness. I wish the front desk was as friendly as Planet Fitness front desk staff. They're fine but I don't remember being greeted as friendly. You wouldn't think how much it means to you until you no longer have it. Another thing I wish was that it had more sanitation stations that are easier to find. I kinda feel a bit lost sometimes. I've gone to every location and it can be overwhelming with Joe not uniform each gym location is. The arms station is always in the front and abs are always in the back but I always the locker rooms are not all immediately to the left but some are. Overall, I had a good experience and a good workout. I love that people leave me alone when I want to focus on my workout I'm glad I don't have to wait as long as for equipment like I do at Planet Fitness because there is a slightly limited amount of equipment at PF compared to GB3. GB3 is definitely a good gym and I love how much bigger and much they offer like different classes. Thus far I'm glad I switched to GB3 because it saves me time and I can see more serious people working out who I can ask for help or observe their technique. The sauna and steam room have always smelled pretty bad. The entire aquatic area was just closed for 2 weeks and the pool was redone.. yet the steam that feeds the sauna/stream room is still nasty. You'd think it would've been a great time to redo the steam system as well, or just clean it out somehow.. but nope. If you want a nasty steam room experience, come here. read more

Absolutely a mess. I've been going to this gym for about a year and it's always completely dirty. The showers always have hair in the drains or even at the corner of the shower. The hot tub on busier days is basically brown at the end of the night and you don't even see them wash until?? There's so many people that go into the sauna fully clothed in their sweaty gym clothes and or people with just swim trunks. I feel like a sauna shouldn't have people with their gym clothes?? All that sweat is just going to get trapped in that hot and crowded sauna. If you look up from the showers you can clearly see flies or bugs just hanging up there?? If you report that the shower head is broken they will won't fix it. There is still the same shower head that lets out a loud sound whenever you turn on that shower. It's so easy to get an infection in this place. Would not recommend it. As well I highly would want a health inspector to check out this place. It's such a health hazard.. To add on. There are pretty who would get inside the hot tub with their FULL CLOTHES. Or even in their underwear?? The amount of times I have felt unsafe with the weird old creepy men when I try to relax in a hot tub is ridiculous. Or even seeing people fully dressed get inside a hot tub which will just contaminate the hot tub is unnecessary. I really can't complain. I love the location of the gym, I personally find it very acomodating in terms of variety of cardio machines and gym equipment. I have also done yoga before and enjoyed it very much. I think the staff at the front desk is always gracious and smiling and the gym is always clean. I have also been to the location on Herndon and Milburn I thought it was okay but this one is definitely a notch above. I am writing this reviewing to bring attention to the fact that this location is singling out and cancelling certain members memberships, trying to state they are breaking policy by taking photos of themselves or recording themselves while the company's IG encourages members to take photos and videos and share them on IG tagging the company. The manager here also blatantly lies to authority officials about the things that are happening. Bad management creates not only an unhealthy work environment while also creating a negative environment for its members that will not encourage growth. I would not recommend this location. read more
