I will say up front I am not a fan of fish. I would give them 4 stars because I don't normally have much selection going there since it's primarily all fish. However, I will say that they do a great job on their fish and chips. What I have eaten I like. I think their batter is really tasty. Some batters don't fry well and hold grease which alters the flavor, but this place has a great batter that has it's own flavor and doesn't hold the grease so it is rather appetizing. They offer even a few different things that are not fish (bangers/sausages) which are decent. I would not recommend saving the food for long the heat and the moisture of the fish make for a soggy meal, it is 1000 time's better fresh. As for the facility. They keep it clean, it's a cute environment that mimics other locations. The highlight of the Arvada location, however is the outside. They have made it an incredible backyard experience with botchy ball, a sand pit for the kids, as well as other outside toys for kids. It has pic-nic tables and grassy areas if you want to sit on the ground for your own pic-nic. I held my husband's birthday there and our very large family and extended family were able to have a great time eating good food, playing backyard games and keeping the kids entertained. read more

GB Fish & Chips - 1/2 halibut meal. - Fish & Chips Near Me - Arvada, Colorado

Great cod fish and chips. We go there frequently. In the Summer, their outside tables are informal and pleasant. Employees always pleasant.

An outstanding place for fish and chips. We finally have a decent chippie in Arvada. The service is friendly and quick, the food is outstanding, and there are good places to sit whatever the weather. Mostly I've sat on the deck, but I also sat out in the garden, and when it was raining, inside on a stool looking out the window. The first time I came here, a lady remembered me from visiting their Sloan Lake location. How great is that? I ordered the cod and chips, and then discovered they even have a decent British beer to go with. I have never been disappointed here. Can't always afford it, but when I can, it's the place to go. read more

Casual and unpretentious, not quite sure whether to go in the front door or the back door, but either is fine. Delicious fish and chips, great service, and cheap beer. Isn't that everything? It's pretty far from our house, but it's always in the back of my mind whenever we're in the Old Arvada area. read more

Came in for lunch with the kiddos. It was our first time here so we didn't have a clue where to start. The guy helping us at the register gave us a good run down of the menu and all their specialties. We ordered the full meal combo platter for $20. Comes with a little bit of everything so we could try it all: cod, tilapia, scallops, squid and shrimp. My knowledge of fried fish is frozen Van de Kamps fish fillets in the blue box so my expectations were pretty low. The batter is good, crispy and light and a little salty. Fish is fresh and has good flavor. My favorite is the scallop pieces. We also ordered the clam chowder and sausage rolls, which taste kind of like McDonald's sausage patties in a pastry. We came for happy hour and snagged Stella's for $3. If you're a PBR person, come get 'em for $.75! The place is small and cozy. There's a patio with heated lamps if you're dining in the winter. The outside area has picnic tables and a kids area for the rugrats to run free. We will definitely come back to enjoy the outdoor space when it's warmer. read more

Great menu. Prepared well. Found a new sauce rather than a1 sauce. It is called HP. New to me at least!

Really good fish and chips. The fish is moist and soft but the batter is crunchy and not too heavy. Their $1 tilapia Tuesday's is a steal!

We love dropping by to have the yummy fish and chips. Nice outdoor area. Food comes quickly.

Love the tilapia Tuesdays, Fresh food, friendly staff and great location in old town Arvada

Best Fish & Chips around! I frequent the one by Sloans Lake, but was pretty happy they opened one closer to my home. Split the 3 piece Cod which was awesome! They have an open kitchen so you can watch them prepare your food, which is cool. Small inside dining and on a cooler day you may end up sharing a table with other diners. No big deal. Tilapia Tuesday they have $1 pieces. Overall clean, friendly staff and hot from the fryer fish & chips! The reviews on hear are pretty spot on! Definitely will be coming back for more!! read more

Used to come here all the time, first time back in a few months and very disappointed. Ordered fish and chips and came for happy hour, asked about their specials, the woman taking our order said "we're trying to get rid of beer but it's not really a deal" and wouldn't give us any prices. Strange. We said cool we'll just take a couple of your cheapest beers.., then proceeded to give us not cheap beers that they "wanted to get rid of". Once we got our receipt and questioned it she said, "you aren't going to get the same happy hour prices any more dude." Bummer that they've made changes, concealed prices and allow staff to be so rude. read more

Wow! We are in love with this place and so happy it is close by. Being a clean freak I checked out the place and it is very clean. Even the condiment containers are spotless. The clam chowder was hot, flavorful and yes, clams in every bite. I had 1/2 order cod meal with fries. Large quantity and so fresh. Fries are thick cut. Staff was extremely friendly and quickly filled our order. We arrived at noon on Sunday and noticed a steady stream of take out orders. Large outdoor patio which would accommodate a large group. Even kid table available - sweet! We will definitely be back! read more

I love fish and chips and was so happy to see this place open! Luckily, it met my rather lofty expectations. The batter on the seafood is really good and it's not too greasy (although the smaller pieces of seafood like scallops will have more batter to meat ratio and therefore more grease). I got curry on the side and it was super flavorful. Perfect to dip your fish or chips in. I will be back soon! read more

Quaint house on the outside, friendly English pub atmosphere on the inside, we tried this place on a whim and glad we did! The meat pie was perfect comfort food on a cold day. Staff is friendly and attentive, and the clientele were well mannered on a Saturday afternoon. Parking is sparse but you can use the bank lot next door on evenings and weekends. I'll definitely be back. Cheers! read more

Holy buckets!!! We've been told by friends that we needed to head here and try their food and I am SO glad we did! The staff is awesome, super friendly and helpful. Being our first time we needed a short explanation of the options and he had no problem answering our questions. While we were eating they checked on us a couple times to make sure we were doing ok and didn't need anything. Based solely on their friendliness, I would come back. The food though... oh my goodness. I have a way of rating food and my top rating is when I consider something "craveable." This was way craveable. In fact it's probably good that their closest location is not down the street because I'd probably go back tomorrow. I had the cod half meal with chips. The cod was crazy fresh and cooked perfectly, the batter was crispy and crunchy, the chips were tasty, and the portion was huge! My husband has the prawns full meal. They were equally tasty! We were treated to a taste of their curry sauce... I actually contemplated buying a pint of it to throw in the freezer. I'm fairly certain that I will dream about it tonight. I love that you can see the chef hand dipping the food and frying it up, and speaking about friendly, he's second to none!!! The restaurant itself is delightful, great outside patio area, bocce ball court, sand box for the kids, and tons of space to eat, drink, and have fun. We will absolutely be back to this location anytime we are close by, and will try out their other locations! read more

GB Fish & Chips - The HALF cod meal! Half?!?!?! It was too much for me to finish! But so delicious. - Fish & Chips Near Me - Arvada, Colorado

Biggest complaint is the biggest compliment: the food is too hot. Could I wait to eat it? Yes. Do I want to? No, it's so good I don't want to wait. This new location's quality is just as good as the others, and in a quaint little house! When it's warm, the outside seating is fantastic with games to play and a spot for the kids! Though I could see there being a problem when it's cold out as there's very little inside seating. There's also not much parking unless it's after 5 and you can park across the street at the bank. read more

GB Fish & Chips - Amazingly delicious - Fish & Chips Near Me - Arvada, Colorado

The food is excellent, no doubt about it, and the staff is quite friendly. We ordered the cod (with chips/fries - very similar to Red Robin's), and a cup of clam chowder. While the chowder was above average, the cod was truly among the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating! It was flaky, tender (not rubbery/chewy) and cooked perfectly; as fresh as one could possibly expect in Colorado. The batter isn't overly thick (usually a sign of trying to hide bad fish) or greasy either, and the subtle flavor is nicely complimented by a squeeze of lemon and some malt vinegar. If you like fish and chips and you don't try this place...well...something's fishy! Now to the critiques, because there are a couple, but not enough to downgrade them a star. First, it took quite awhile to get our food around 5pm on a non-busy Saturday. You order and pay quick-serve style and receive a number for your food, delivered by a runner. When we arrived, the place was about half-full and - for our standard order of cod and chips - it took a little over 20 minutes to receive. This may have been an isolated incident or will get fixed as they're likely still working out the kinks, but you might want to be prepared to wait a little bit (perhaps not a good choice if you're in a hurry), especially if they're busy. The good part is that your patience will be rewarded with stellar food. My final minor quibble - which they said they're working on - is that all beer is currently served in bottles. I had a Lagunitas IPA and while a good pairing with my cod, it could have been so much better on tap. Again, a minor thing to some, but if you're a beer geek, it was good to hear they agree and plan to add taps soon. In summary, this place is absolutely a winner and so worthy of a visit if you enjoy any kind of battered, fried seafood (the menu also features scallops, squid and more). read more

Always good food and good service when I come on lunch. Would recommend to friends. Get the fried cod.

We've been to this location many times before and have always had good service but tonight was a completely different story. We ordered 9 pieces of tilapia and 2 baskets of fries and when our order was ready we got 8 pieces of fish and 2 VERY skimpy baskets of fries. My husband went back in to the counter and told her we'd ordered 9 pieces she said they'd make 3 more for the inconvenience and the two extras we could keep. So my husband and son ate the 8 pieces and most of the fries (saving some for me to have when my fish came out). About 15 minutes later a very rude lady came out with one small piece of tilapia and sat it on the table and when my husband tried to explain that we were told we'd get 3 more pieces she said "No sir, check your receipt - you only ordered 9 total." It took so long to get the one tiny piece of fish and by that time the fries were no longer hot. Unfortunately we won't return if this rude lady is working there. read more

The service was excellent. Friendly, attentive and helpful. The fish (pollack) and chips were delicious. We got the pollack instead of the cod because my daughter wanted a sustainable fish. The pollack was very close to cod in taste and $4 less. The beer (Fuller's London Pride) is very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant. + Wi-Fi. - Paper napkins. - Plastic flatware. read more

This is great fish place - very tasty fried cod - However, I do not recommend the cole slaw - it is just average and it costs $3.25 - but for that price, they give you 1/3 cup in a small plastic container like you get the tarter sauce in. Way over priced. They also charge the same for french fries, but have a good service of french fries. Other than the cole slaw, their food is very good. Their staff is excellent and friendly. read more

We stumbled upon this place, thanks to Yelp, on our way to a concert in Broomfield, and fell in love! It is totally our kind of place! Super cute and simple, with multiple fish and seafood choices and a full (if not close to full) bar! You go up to the counter and order, find a seat, for us it was a beautiful patio spot on a gorgeous evening, and they bring you your food! Everyone was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious!! I am a sucker for steak fries, and theirs were spot on! We will definitely be going back next time we're in the area!! read more

First time here and I liked the atmosphere. I am not a big fan of fish and chips but the reviews brought me in. I'm not glad they did because I'm now a fan. I got the combo that has a little bit of everything. I have to say there was not one thing I didn't enjoy. It was great and the chips come unsalted which should be a standard they were tasty. Everything fried perfectly. The tarter sauce which I normally don't use is fantastic as well. I love the outdoor seating and arrangement. I included pictures of my whole experience also a menu picture. Prices are a steal. Recommended for sure! read more

My roommate and I just moved into the neighborhood and we both agreed this is the first place we would try out in the area. Little did we know we made the best possible decision by ordering here. Because of COVID, we ended up ordering online for takeout. The screen during the order asks you what time you'll pick it up, and once I get there? It's ready at that exact time. Tasted delicious, awesome staff and service, authentic GB food. We will be back for more! read more

Love this place! Hands down the best fish and chips in Denver. I couldn't be happier they came to arvada! The chowder is awesome, and their fish is always so fresh. I love their homemade tartar sauce too. My favorite thing (when it's available) are the halibut fish and chips. This place is also super kid friendly. When the weather is warm it's so fun to sit outside and let the kids play in the fenced in area, complete with toys, sandbox, and games. Love this place! read more

If you're a fan of fish and chips, you won't be disappointed here. Easily the best fish in chips in Denver Metro. The only reason I'm not giving it 5/5 is because some of the non fish and chips items on the menu are kind of lacking. The clam chowder was a bit bland and the other English specialties on the menu are just average. I've also tried the fried squid and chips and was not impressed. The space is pretty small, so it can get tight in colder months. This place really shines in spring/summer when you can eat outside. They have a great space and allow dogs, which is a huge plus. Definitely come here, but only get the fish and chips...specifically the cod or of the have some special going on. read more

Always good fish and chips. Somehow it's still good when it's not piping hot anymore too. Have had it several times and I'll always go back. One Monday we went and they had 75cent PBRs. Idk if that is still a thing, but it was fun. Dine in or pick up are both worth it! read more

I don't know what to say other than this place just as really solid fish and chips. Went for my second visit last week and was again very impressed by both the fish and the chips! And normally I find all chips just "meh". But these were super tasty. The Arvada location is small and almost always busy, so bring your patience and your appetite when you come. I had the half order cod meal and it was more than enough. BF had the 1/2 combo platter and dug it for the most part. The scallops weren't really his favorite, but he said the fish and squid were both delicious. I added a cup of clam chowder, but would probably skip that next time. I'm just about the fish n' chips. Happy eating! read more

5 stars for the food! Fried cod was great--batter was light and crispy, cod was tender and flaky. Chicken meat pie was comforting, seasoned well, and went great with the cup of sauce they give with it.
