Fantastic time, about 35 minutes to walk through. Huge animatronics everywhere, which is a big plus, and scare actors galore. While an animatronic is jumping out at you, an actor gets you from the other side! The disgusting smell ( in a few rooms), done intentionally, made me gag. Very pungent! Lol The body bags were quite heavy, hard to get through, had to go sideways. Quite scary! Lots of stairs and uneven surfaces, so wear sturdy shoes or sneakers for sure. 5 star haunt, and I have been to dozens.

We came the first day it was opened in October 2022. If you buy online, it's a few dollars cheaper than buying at the box office. Parking: Plenty of parking spots when we went. Though from what I heard, the parking gets packed the closer it gets to Halloween so you might r have to wait for a spot to open. Midway: The area between the box office and the theater. That is where you can get beverages (hot apple cider is a must) and chicken wings from the food cart. You can get souvenirs here. Get your picture taken on stage or talk to the clown at the information booth. Haunting: Watch the number on the digital display for your number before you enter. It's indoor and outdoor so wear proper footware since you need to go up steps, slanted floor, squeeze through some area. Don't want to give up too much and ruin the fun. Keep your hands to yourself. I held my friend's hand or shirt since my reflex might hit someone and you aren't suppose to touch the actors. Have fun and enjoy.

Gateway's Haunted Playhouse is epic! If you're going to go to any Halloween event on Long Island make this THE one. I've been coming to this haunted event for the past 3 years and I have to say that it just keeps getting better and better each year. This is a top notch production with tons of live interactive scares going on. Don't worry the actors can't touch you physically, but the know how to scare the Hell out of you! This is not your typical community "firehouse" doubling as a haunted house. This is an elaborately constructed journey that takes you upstairs, downstairs, outside, in elevators, and other dimensions - seriously there is a vortex room that sincerely screws with your head. The entire experience takes about a half an hour to get through providing you don't get held up along the way. After you pay or check in (you can purchase tickets on-line), there is a short to moderate waiting period until your number is up! (approx 20-30 minutes). No worries though there is a ghostly bar serving up pumpkin ale and a variety of wines, soft drinks, and light snacks while you're waiting. There are plenty of ghouls and goblins patrolling the area to offer up some jolting entertainment as well. Plenty of photo ops. This year they've added some new attractions like the coffin ride (you actually get in a closed coffin which jumps all over the place), and the Haunted Shooting Gallery. All this along with a few flame swallowers, fortune tellers, and stilt walkers makes for a really fun night out around Halloween time. There is a less "haunted" version for kids during the day. Highly recommend Gateway's Haunted Playhouse for a 1st rate Haunted House experience!

Scariest haunted house i've ever been in. This is scarier than Universal Studios Halloween horror nights. Blown away five stars.

Keep in mind, this one isn't as big, so it's comparing apples to oranges. However, if you want to enjoy a family-owned haunted house with a room tribute to various of the well-known horror movies, this is an adventure for you. It starts with an outdoor experience then you continue with the house experience where you might be able to regroup before going forward. It's also a chance to spread the groups so you don't walk into another group or ruin the experience. It's about 20-30 minutes so it's not a long experience but it's worth the price. We went the first weekend it opened. It was empty and we got to explore as well as enjoy responding to the actors. We didn't encounter another group while in each room. If you like these experiences, go earlier in the month rather than later when it gets crowded and the experience is different

ALL of the actors are volunteers AND the money goes to local charities! *$10 parking per car cash or Venmo Every year the themes focus on "in" movies. This year's 2024 "Coven of the Rotted" included Terrifier, Silent Hill, Silence of the Lambs, Dolls and a Voodoo room among many others! There is always a "twist" on the best classic movies, but they've had themes like Monsters Inc. and Toy Story in the past. The themes are always changing and EVERY year is different. The trail takes about an hour to walk through but the scares start once you walk through the entryway! Characters will interact with you (but not touch) and the display of animatronics is a great way to start the night! There is a midway "stop" area to take photos, grab a snack and break up the groups of people that tend to get bunched together through the trail. I would recommend 10/10 and will come back every year! Buy your tickets early as they sell out quick for all times!

They could use more back lighting while waiting in line so you could see the amazing work and statues. Also it appears the actors had not started until 8 as we did not move in line for over and hour and got there at 7:15 pm for our 7-7:30 slot. They had several sets that were just ok. Although they had the "well" from Silence of the lamb, put the lotion in the basket, nothing was on the well. Also could use some bathrooms while waiting in line instead of just the one at the very beginning and MOST importantly , stagger the groups going through. We were in one continuous walking line so we saw the scares coming. We still enjoyed the 45 minute interact trail and will continue to look forward to it every year..

They were pleasant on the phone, offered me a group rate, and said that they would love to host us. 24 hour notice, and it was no problem! When we got there, they accommodated us in so many ways. My son was able to celebrate with 18 friends, some who were too scared to do everything. I walked out of the first part with tears in my eyes, doubled over laughing at how scared they were. When Poocaso did that paint brush "trick," my group almost ran up out of there. Let me not spoil any of it for anyone else, but all 4 were a hit hit hit. They even allowed us a space to set up a table for cake and goodie bags, and brought a few of the characters out to take pictures with my sons. When Cuddles came out to take a picture with my son, some of his friends took off running. This was so epic, and was made even better when one of the people told us that we were helping them fundraise. God bless you all, and we thank you for making this 10th birthday celebration amazing!!!
