Finished up, paid the bill and left only to have it over heat a couple of miles down the road. Turned around, took it back and the saga of troubleshooting began. To make a long story short, after several parts (over a period of days) were changed the tech figured he might have gotten a bad part. Changed the thermostat out again and fixed the issue. Now they could have hit me up for additional troubleshooting, but the answer when I asked what I owed was, you paid for a thermostat. We had a bad one out of stock and that has now been replaced and you owe us nothing else. I have been a mechanic over 40 years in aviation. Bad parts happen and can drive you crazy. The tech at Express was open, honest and kept at the issue until it was resolved. I could not have asked for better treatment and will return for my routine maintenance in the future.

The vehicle was pulled around back and after a wait I was informed that their technology could not patch a tire with its tread depth. They referred me to two other businesses. I requested topping off the tires, which they did. On both visits, staff was cordial.

My friends noticed a flapping sound underneath the car because a piece had not been secured. The Firestone shop in Jackson found my tires were not aligned and were wearing so severely because of this they could have exploded on Interstate 40. I had to pay for a full realignment and two new tires in Jackson, to the tune of $900+. I had only had these tires for 18 months, installed in 2024 at Costco. I have not received any reimbursement from Caliber or from Steve's after this faulty work could have cost my friends and I our lives.

We have been customers of Christian Brothers Automotive in Southaven since 2022 and have been there…read morenine times for oil changes, but this last time was terrible. We have been loyal customers and have been very nice to them, but the last time I had questions about the inspection they had done in early March of this year, it became a whole ordeal. They inspected the vehicle because my husband asked them to take a look at his engine mounts, at first they said it was a Courtesy check and then when they were done with the inspection they charged him $89.95. The excuse was that it required more effort to inspect so they needed to charge the service, but they never communicated that to us. Since we were customers for a while we just let that go and continued business with them. They gave us a quote for the work and we discussed it. My husband and I decided that the price they estimated for the labor and engine mount (around $700) was expensive. We had an expert opinion on the situation as well and during that time Christian Brothers ordered the part and we decided if we could buy it from them. They agreed. My husband and his friend installed the part, but when they installed it, they realized it was a transmission mount and it did not need to be replaced. We were confused as to why they ordered the transmission mount because our friend who works on cars said that the top mount was the one that was worn out. The transmission mount was not worn out, but because the time and labor to get to the transmission mount was strenuous they replaced it. On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, my husband scheduled an oil and brake fluid change with them, and I took his car in. My husband wanted to question the engine mount to them but, since he was at work, I asked them to look at it because we knew it did not need to be replaced. They said again it would be a courtesy check since the inspection was not too long ago. They did not charge me for the inspection. When I came back to pick up the car, I brought the original transmission mount to them, and the technician or service writer named Sean tried to explain to me that the bushing of the engine mount needed to be replaced because he could move it with a piece of metal in the hole and press it down with force. He showed it to me. They said that it needed to be replaced now. I did not know anything about engine mounts so I looked it up on Google to fact-check it, and when I looked it up, I noticed Sean got very annoyed. I found on Google, " Signs of a Bad Mount: If you CAN'T move the bushing by hand, or if you notice excessive engine movement, clunking noises, or increased vibrations, it's a strong indication that the engine mount is failing." I showed them what I found, Sean then explained that what I found on Google was wrong. On the original mount, there were no cracks on the bushings as well, it just showed that it was used of course. I tried to explain to them that this mount did not need to be replaced. The manager Corey came to the desk, and asked, " So what do you want us to do? What do you want from us?" he stated aggressively. I did not know what I wanted them to do, because I did not know how to resolve the issue. I explained to him that this mount did not need to be replaced because it did not look worn out. Google says that the bushing is supposed to move with force, but before I could finish explaining, GM Corey asked and said, "What do you want us to do because we are too busy trying to go back and forth with you? We do not have time for this!?" We are not going to argue about this for hours with you!" - he said angrily. I wanted them to figure out the issue because we paid them in early March around $89.95 for an inspection. It should have been their job as a business which we had paid for to figure out the issue instead of asking me what I wanted them to do. I had asked them to look at the initial inspection report and he denied it and said no because they made it clear that I as a customer was wasting their time. Christian Brothers Automotive at that point was aggressive, argumentative, and defensive. I was unsatisfied with the part that they ordered and I questioned their work, and instead of conflict resolution, they responded terribly. It is okay for customers to question the business and find a solution and maybe come to a compromise but it was not okay for them. It was a ride-or-die mentality. The owner came out at this point and in total three men were looking down at me and raising their voices at me. The Owner John Ferrante says," My technicians work hard every day and do the best they can for their customers and I do not like how you are talking about my workers! I don't usually fire customers but I fire you!" He then says, "You and your husband can go to Google Technician instead of coming here." He then laughed at me. But the thing is I never insulted or ridiculed them, I just had questions and all I wanted for them to do was to verif

This is something I've had fixed before by simply replacing a faulty slave or master cylinder. I let them know this while describing the issue. After saying this was most likely the issue, I was asked if the clutch had been replaced. Later I got a call back and they said that I was getting good pressure with the cylinders and that wasn't the issue. Instead that I was going to have to get the clutch replaced. I walked back up there and paid the $150 "diagnosis" fee that increased to $187 upon payment, citing taxes but not mentioning the $15 fees added. I told them I was going to get another opinion. A mechanic I know that changed the cylinder last time took the air filter off and checked the slave cylinder and showed me that fluid was leaking out very noticeably. Steve's hadn't bothered to even check the cylinders or they would have seen fluid leaking out. I'm guessing they just took it into the bay and pushed the clutch and decided I need a whole new clutch. My friend mechanic ordered a $60 part, the faulty slave cylinder, and the car is back running just like it was before. So Steve's got my $187, but not another cent from me. I hope it was worth it for them to get a small amount from me on the short end instead of a trusted customer in the long run. Avoid these crooks!

I called him Monday, May 4. He hadn't gotten to it. He didn't call me until Friday, May 8 only to tell me that I needed an engine clean on top of right front wheel bearing in my front and rear disc brake pads needed to be repaired as well as both serpentine belts. I didn't ask for all of that. I was only expecting to hear about what I was inquiring about which was the grinding sound on the right side of my truck I was aware I needed a brake pads and rotors. I didn't ask for that. I have the invoice paperwork here that shows how he wrote it up the way he wanted to write it up. My service request was the vehicle has a noise when driving in front and a grinding noise under the floorboard check and advise that's it but then he puts on here diagnose noise from engine area so when I talk to him about it, he claims he did nothing the engine and they didn't take nothing apart blah blah blah for all of that I had to pay $88.71 just for him to look at it and not fix it and after they added the 3% to it for using tap payment it came out to $91.37 that I paid for nothing on top of the fact when I left, they created another problem now my oil pressure notification keeps coming across my dashboard since I've gotten it back and it reads oil pressure low stop engine now clearly there's oil in there so they've created another problem and he told me that I could bring it in today in today's date is May 12, 2026 I told him I don't have any money to give him to just look at it and not fix it. I feel like their business is struggling in some aspect in the boss. The owner of the establishment got them out here scamming people to make money is so unfair and selfish and Adrian he kept trying to speak over me as I'm trying to explain what's going on. He's talking while I'm talking, not listening. It was just very rude and unacceptable behavior, especially coming from him because I've left really good reviews based off the work they've done for me years ago in the past and something has changed because they can't keep mechanics. They're constantly changing mechanics and now they've destroyed something in my truck that I have to figure out how to fix with my own money on top of trying to repair what needed to be repaired in the first place I'm very disgusted and disappointed and very shocked with the treatment I received in the service I received as well highly unacceptable and upset and I will let everybody know how they treat people up there. They treat you nice when you paying the money but when you have nothing to give you get shit service this is not over. I feel like I was taking advantage of, and I don't like that feeling at all so if you call up there and talk to Adrian Carl, this is right hand man he act like he don't know what's going on half the time anyway it's all a mess up there.
