The soup was refreshing and I really enjoyed it. The bread was good as well. One of the spreads was obazda dip which I love. I thought they made it ok. We started with the veal ravioli. They were tender and tasted pretty good. I had the restaurant special which was basically a chicken pot pie. I thought it was good but I've had better. I thought the chicken was over cooked and the capers inside was a bit off putting to me because there were so many and made the whole dish too sour for me. It was a bit off putting. My friend had the fillet with white asparagus and potatoes and hollandaise sauce. It was basic but I preferred her dish. The dessert had strawberry and tarragon I believe. It was well balanced, not too sweet, and I liked the herbs with the dessert. They also had a nice drink menu and a good variety of wines. They did not let us try the wine before pouring it which I expected since this is a nice place. Overall thought the service was decent but not great.

Our entrees were not on the menu as they had already run out of a couple of the specials, but it was easily some of the best Italian food I've ever had - in or out of Italy. We had cheese ravioli with pistacchio cream sauce, rigatoni with meatballs and a lovely marinara, a classic bruschetta, a spin on a caprese salad that included several additional ingredients, and tiramisu for dessert. Our waiter also turned out to be a magician behind the bar, and whipped up a cocktail with Sarti liqueur, Prosecco and soda that was great! Don't let the wait for a table deter you from stopping here. Do try to get a reservation in advance, and don't miss this place. Outstanding food plus outstanding service. 6 stars!!!!!

We came for espresso martinis but ordered some fresh mozzarella and risotto to split, and they were both fantastic and full of flavor. The first plate of bread we got was hard and overcooked, but they brought us more and it was delicious. I wish we would've gone for a full meal! I also loved the ambience here. It almost gives off a fancy French bistro vibe. I would say it is definitely more upscale, but no dress code. The upstairs has a good library lounge vibe with sofas and the bathroom is hidden behind a bookshelf!

We arrived around 6 which is early for dinner out here so we were ok without a reservation. The receptionist had a table for us but we had until 8 (which was ample time) to finish up. Two level restaurant with a loud, vibrant/upbeat vibe and atmosphere. There was a bar in the middle of the first level with 360 seating. See if you can figure out how to enter the WC on the second level. We started with some Apéritifs. Nudo Fu Famosa and Milano Margarita-Mescal and Tequila based -both were delicious. For appetizer it was the Octopus. Grilled and seasoned with a tasty sauce-we enjoyed it and wished there was more of it. The Vongole (Clam Sauce) pasta was tasty although could have used less salt. We ordered Helles Lager to pair with the pizza. Tartufo pizza had the right balance of Truffle and oil although could have used a bit more cheese. Wood fired oven made for a just right crust and the Chili Oil condiment gave it an extra kick. Our server was attentive and helped us navigate the menu choices patiently. We finished around 8 and they were full. Felt like a Friday/Sat. night although it was Wednesday. Reservations are recommended.

We dined next to a local, Alfred, and enjoyed great conversation during the meal. He was very helpful with the menu! The food is a full step above what is served over at Hofbrauhaus. I ordered the classic Sauerbraten and the wife had Paprikaschnitzel, which was by far the best Spicy Paprika Schnitzel we ever had. Very different style, bright red sauce, lots of of fresh red peppers and just the right amount of heat. A work of art! Ask for the Schnitzel to be breaded and fried extra crispy ... you can thank me later. The classic mixed desert plate was also on point. We stopped in a few days later and sat inside at the bar, watched the bartender tap a special wooden keg. He didn't even ask, simply poured us 2 Helles and brought them over. They didn't have a menu in english but owner/bartender was very friendly when we asked for help. He was very accommodating with our drink orders and spent quite a bit of time talking with us the entire meal. Between his English (which was better than he gave himself credit for), my mediocre German, and Google Translate, we were able to order. During our two stops, we ordered a spinach ball appetizer, a salad, an angus burger that was better than most burgers I have in San Diego, and the best spaetzle I've ever eaten. My wife raved that both the moscow mule and the whiskey sour were some of the best she's ever had. I enjoyed the good selection of Munich gins they featured!
