The wine list both by the glass and bottle is extensive. The stemware is gorgeous. We started with a German sparkling rose and moved on to a beautiful white wine to pair with our dinner. Be forewarned, the menu is quite limited. The pinchos are really akin to bruschetta with different toppings. We had a caponata and a beet with goat cheese. For the mains, I had the only fish item on the menu. Others enjoyed the risotto and the beef bourguignon. Opted against dessert but the menu looked nice. And the service is spectacular! If you're looking for a great place to meet up with friends, colleagues or even a date, this wine bar ticks all the boxes.

It's a wine bar that specializes in Franconian and German wines. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass and I had a lovely German Riesling. I'm glad I had the opportunity to dine in this beautiful 150 year old restaurant. My review comes after its closure but it serves to honor the restaurant in hosting my visit. The Building is amazing where the walls and ceilings act as palettes for beautiful painted art. Stepping into the restaurant feel as if one is stepping through a time portal where one feels they are dining 151 years ago which is how old the building is. The ambiance is quite lively and energetic. Although the highlight is the space, the food is also very good. Their pretzels are served warm and fresh with a firm exterior and an interior that melts as it enters one's mouth. The soup is flavorful and healthy with not even a drop of oil pooling to the top. The schnitzel is as tender as it gets. The servers were knowledgeable and fast but it is always so busy that the restaurant should consider increasing staff as to improve customer service. Perfect location right in the heart of Marienplatz where the Glockenspiel is a stone's throw away. Overall, a wonderful restaurant to dine with great food and a beautifully historic setting!

It was held in the inner courtyard of the Residenz. I was surprised when we first stepped in to see how empty it was. On a sunny day in Munich you would be falling over people getting into a festival like this but, here it was relatively empty for a Sunday afternoon. Perhaps it has something to do with the holiday season in Bavaria. There were few umbrellas to cover the tables from the sunshine which meant, that many of the tables were empty. The average demographic here was also much older. I felt young at this festival ;-)) There were about 4-5 different winemakers from the Pfalz area here and, it was €5 for a 0,25l glass of wine and, you could also buy a 0,1l or, a whole bottle. There were two food stands one serving Pfannkuchen and another selling Bavarian dishes like Brezen and Lebarkase and so on. The wines were mostly white, sparkling or rose with a few reds thrown in. I had a lovely glass of Rosé from one of the stands and had a taste of some others. There was a live band playing and I think they used the same beat for almost all the songs they played :-) All in all an ok experience and I may come back here again next year. It's an ok way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday.

They said they were just starting a tasting menu so I wanted to try it out for €75, with €14 per each glass of the paired white wine. The tasting menu was only in German though FYI if you can't read German. All the dishes were full of flavour! First course: oyster was delicious with the seasoning on top. Second course: vegetables and I think there was fish. I can't remember from the wine I had. But it was tasty with the sauce provided. Third course: main course and everything was so good! The garnished potatoes helped make the main course not too heavy with flavour. I liked the seafood paired with the sauce, as well as the breading that came with it. Even the bunch of lettuce was good which was nice. Final course: some pie with sorbet on top with yuzu-citrus flavour which was a refreshing way to end the meal. Overall, I would say it was worth the price point and got me full. The wine pairing was amazing as well and was definitely strong. Interior is nice and elegant and my waitress was perfect, accommodating for English since I am not confident speaking in German. Those who serve you the food though do describe the dishes in German FYI. The tasting menu is a new concept too, so I believe they'll change it up every so often and it's worth a try if you're in the Marienplatz area!

Nonetheless we were served cold dishes in the lobby of the hotel which was so kind of the kitchen to provide because I had been talking about the chicken liver crostini for weeks as we planned our trip. We never miss Vinothek when we come to Munich and because the house made an exception for us, my streak continues.
