Disappointed in my service this time around. It was returned with a broken belt. It won't function without this fixed.

I've gone to Gary 6 years ago when I found a lovely electric typewriter while thrifting. It clearly hadn't been in use for quite some time and was definitely not treated very kindly in the pile of things at the thrift store. I found Gary's shop and he fixed it up within about a week. Replaced a spring which helped the motor make automatic spaces in between the letters and the rapid return for the end of a line. He also put in a new ribbon I've gone back this week for a normal tune-up. I haven't used it for a couple years so, while most of it is working, I have one key that is sticking. I look forward to having him have it working to its fullest capacity very soon UPDATE August 8 2020 Completely disappointed in my service this time around. After I typed up two postcards it stopped working. I take a peak inside to see that a belt came off and is completely shredded. An electric typewriter won't work without these belts. My space at was replaced (it needed it) but I would've liked to have been informed ahead of time that it wouldn't match my machine. Also in the process of it being replaced he chipped chunks of the machine off It was also returned to me without the bottom panel attached. Nor was it cleaned at all. You can see my keys are all in worn condition. A simple spray of alcohol and a brush would've been all it took to spruce them up a bit. Thoroughly disappointed. I drove an hour out each way to get this and I'll just YouTube all my fixes from now on. Update August 26th: I took it back to get that belt replaced which shouldn't have been overlooked the first time. It took a week for the belt to be put in. But when I got it back he didn't have a test paper like the first time and one key isn't working... again... which is one of the reasons I took it in to begin with. The bottom panel is still completely gone so I can see it's from the little chain that links together the key to the button. It's the same letter that wasn't working when I took it in. I'm just going to do my best to work on my machine myself because it's a waste for me to be driving 80 miles round trip to get to this shop. For me, that's already over a full tank of gas just to not have a fully functioning machine (back and forth 4x has been 320miles and my very old truck only gets 260miles a tank)

I've come here for about a year, mostly for the printing services as I'm a university student, and…read moreto buy a few miscellaneous office supplies like pen ink refills, Post-Its, and a folder. But a few months ago, we saw a deal on a sandwich board directly outside the front door advertising a "student printer bundle," which included an HP printer, two ink cartridges, and a ream of paper for $100. A couple weeks later, we decided to do it. We walked in, asked an associate on the floor about it, and they said "Go up to the register, they'll set you up there." So we went and waited in line (not too long, like two customers ahead of us), but when we got to the cashier, she told us we're supposed to go get the printer ourselves, then bring it up and she would add on the ink and paper. 10 minutes later, we located the printer specified in the ad, and carried it up to the register. The cashier then started adding in the ink and a 20 lb. box of paper. Confused, we clarified that we wanted to do the student printer bundle on the board outside that came with only one ream of paper. She was completely bewildered, asked "For THIS store?" and ended up calling over a supervisor. He explained the deal to her and that all she had to do was scan all the products, and the total would automatically change to $100. She did that and it worked. After the supervisor walked away, she told us she had no idea about that deal. We thought that was very weird because that board had been in front of the store for at LEAST two weeks that she would've had to walk by? Also, shouldn't the employees know about the deals going on? Here's the part that really sent us: As we paid and finished checking out, the cashier's cell phone rang, she ANSWERED it on speaker phone, and it was clearly some man (adult son or husband?) at home. She continued casually chatting with him about nothing while she bagged up our items. ("What's wrong?" "Nothing, why?" "You sound weird." "I just woke up." "Oh... Well what are you doing?") Finally as we grabbed our bag and receipt and started to walk away, she mouthed "Bye." to us, the CUSTOMERS, so as not to interrupt her phone call. Lol, it was surreal. The printer bundle deal was great and we're glad it worked out, but man. That store does not run smoothly and the cashiers need... more professional development.

Outstanding Customer Service - Office Depot Copier Area…read more I went to Office Depot to pick up my order and noticed Olivia Arreola working alone at the copier area. There were four customers ahead of me, yet Olivia managed everything calmly, efficiently, and with a warm smile. Her patience, professionalism, and positive attitude under pressure truly stood out. I even told her she deserves a raise -- she was working like two people, helping everyone with genuine care. Office Depot is so fortunate to have such a dedicated and passionate employee. I don't usually write reviews due to my busy schedule, but Olivia's exceptional service truly deserves recognition. Thank you, Olivia, for your kindness and excellent assistance! This was by far the best customer service experience I've ever had at Office Depot in Signal Hill branch. I highly recommend this location, especially the copier area department.

Ah, yes. Another delightful excursion into the unpredictable world of human interaction--this time…read moreat a print shop. I was informed, quite confidently I might add, by a gentleman behind the counter that my order would be ready at precisely 3:30 PM. "No need to pay for rush service," he said. Splendid, I thought--efficiency without financial penalty. A rare and beautiful thing. Imagine my surprise when reality failed to align with this verbal contract. Upon returning, I spoke to the very same man, who--rather impressively--appeared to have undergone a complete memory wipe. He denied ever making such claims. Not even a hint of recognition. It was only after I painstakingly recited the conversation nearly verbatim (thank you, brain, for retaining useless yet critical data) that he began to... recalibrate his story. At this point, one must ask: is this a print shop, or an experimental facility testing the limits of customer patience and human honesty? Customer service, I've heard, involves consistency, accountability, and not rewriting history when convenient. If this gentleman is going to engage in what can only be described as conversational improvisation, perhaps customers should be issued transcripts upon entry. In conclusion: misleading information, reluctant acknowledgment, and a performance that could rival amateur theatre. Would not recommend--unless you enjoy a bit of light gaslighting with your printing services.
