Not only did he chat with me for a few minutes on what I was looking for but then emailed me photos of things he thought might fit the bill. Now that's what I'm talking about!!! So all the customer service that has gone from every chain store - this is where it ended up... Who knew! Jose was very up front with me that his pieces were probably out of my price range but that did not stop him from helping anyway and he might just get a customer outta me yet. I did visit the store the next day just because of his kind treatment of me on the phone and it was a lovely store. I've got my eye on a piece that if it is still there after I save more; I might get it or at the very least I have a new option for any future pieces. Will it look as good if it's white cotton and absorbs moisture like a sponge cake? Consider if a covering for the furniture piece is an option and/or if it would actually look nice. There's nothing like going to your uncle's house where a nice piece of furniture was covered with a nice cloth to protect it, then an older cloth was put over the nice cloth to protect the cloth, so that by the time they have an important guest coming and want to show off the original piece of furniture, it's already been worn down! A friend recommended we check them out when we moved into a new house and our beloved couch that we'd literally had for decades... like while we were just dating... was not working in our new space. We needed a custom size and wanted the L shape to create a scenario where our family of four could curl up together and make key memories before the kids head off to college in a few years. We had never designed a couch before but definitely had some thoughts and ideas. The staff were there for it and vibed with us on it over multiple visits, calls, and emails. It was a BIG step for us and they held our hands the whole way. We must have sat on every couch there over the course of 3 visits and in the end, designed with them the PERFECT couch. Everyone was completely lovely. But here's where it gets really good. My husband wanted a low, deep, lounge style but I felt like I needed a little more stucture so we combined the styles of two couches, keeping it low and loungey but adding a second row of cushions so you or a guest can choose if you want to be laid back or more upright. It's the best of wboth worlds and completely flexible for older guests who would be swallowed up in a couch this deep. It's gorgeous... we sat down with them (on that couch!) and plotted it all out, with the L facing the right way in our house to make sense and bring the space to life. Mady hand-sketched it all up right then and there. The delivery team was so nice and lovingly unpacked the whole thing and were so sweet when I had a major brain fog moment and freaked out that they had made a mistake and designed the L facing the WRONG WAY! In quite a panic, I called the shop and reached Noa, who calmly dealt with my extreme freak out. The delivery team patiently waited for the whole thing and consoled me as I shed a few tears. Noa offered to come take a look at it IN MY HOME to assess the situation. A few days later, I'm walking through my home with them (Noa and her mom, the owner!) and we are all chatting about how it actually looks awesome in the orientation that it's in. I still had sworn that I didn't design it that way but agreed that it actually felt like I should have. They were calm, poised, creative, open, and completely invested in making sure their handmade piece felt perfect in my space. They were not aggressive nor accusatory... just there to see how best to resolve the issue, knowing that it was a custom-built piece. And they were lovely humans as well. We talked about art and design, building a business from the ground up, and the challenges with keeping a small business afloat during economic downturns and worldwide pandemics. Months later, I realized that no one made any mistakes and we actually designed it just like this, and it's been my absolute favorite thing in my home ever since. I think about this experience often, and I'm so grateful for their graceful reaction and approach. The couch itself is a standout in the space and sets the tone for the rest of our decor. It's comfortable beyond belief. It's easy to maintain, has held its shape for years now, and is easy to clean. We got it in a cream fabric, so that was a worry, but they taught us how to care for it easily! Not only does it hold our whole family, but a lot more people when the kids have friends over. It has helped shape not only our space from a design perspective but in how we interact within the space and with each other. And we get so many compliments on it. The quality and craftsmanship are unmatched. We couldn't be happier. THANK YOU! But what really stands out is that in this age of faster, cheaper, AI, and automation, this company is a family business of artisans that care deeply for the products they craft and the impact on their customers and clients. They want you to love the pieces you bring home, and they care to work with you until you do. They love art and design, so definitely take their suggestions!! It also has a mini museum to the whole bakery district as well. There are other furnature stores in the complex as well so it makes for an ewasy one stop spot to fill your home. I think it has something to do with the overall proportions and the way the upholstery fits into the frame that makes it feel like it was built specifically for our living room space. I purchased the Mahoe Oval Coffee Table from Lulu and Georgia on March 6, 2025, for a total of $2031.52. The images online where of a beautiful travertine coffee table in light, neutral colors, with no mention of variances. I received the table on March 18 and it was nowhere near close to the image of what I ordered and was far different than the reasonable amount of "natural" variation - it was a color-blocked table with a white top and dark brown, stark contrast, legs. It was awful. I rejected the delivery and they placed a new order. I received a replacement on March 31, and same thing, and a third on May 22, also the same thing. I requested a full refund, either to my original payment and/or store credit. They are refunding $1496.51 to my credit card and another $264.09 as store credit, for a total "refunded" of $1760.60. There is a delta of $269.92. The "store credit" was the "restocking fee", since they are claiming that the item is not defective. However, the item is clearly defective. If what I received wasn't defective, then it is most certainly deceptive advertising. I would be more than generous and accept the delta as part of the "store credit", giving them the chance for suture business. However, I cannot accept this delta when this is clearly either a defective item or deceptive advertising. I have spent countless hours corresponding back and forth with the "CX/Customer Experience" team to no avail. They should be ashamed of themselves. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture order, and I cannot believe I am being swindled by them. I guess this is what I get for blindly purchasing from a store I found advertised on Instagram and through various "influencers". Please be aware that purchasing from Lulu and Georgia will be a crapshoot - you may or may not receive what something similar to what you purchased, and if you don't, you will be out money for "restocking" fees and delivery fees.

Mom was overjoyed with Ryan's creation and loved having her grandchildren sleep over on her extremely comfortable space efficient wall bed. The kids loved the "cool" factor of the bed folding down over the plush sofa. Their favorite feature was playing with the remote control to change the recessed colored lighting to fit their mood. Recently, we had a question regarding the wall bed outside of business hours while moving homes. Ryan not only answered our call but was extremely eager to help. My six children who slept on the bed for years are all adults now and we plan to continue using Mod Barn for current and future generations. Mod Barn is unequivocally the very best source for custom furnishings far superior than the plethora of mediocrity in the field. Bravo Ryan!

We had to change an order and instead of canceling we swapped and ordered a bookcase. The final order was a bookcase and prayer room door. Everything was good until it wasn't. We started this process in December 2025. In April and June he said the bookcase was ready. He moved the install dates more than twice. It was finally installed on 07/15, with a crew that struggled to install it, dings on the wall and trash left behind. As of today 08/10/26- book case installed, lacking finishing details. Prayer room door- pending. Reply to texts- pending. Goes without saying- an extremely frustrating experience.
