I've looked all over Southern California for a master china restorer for rare Herend figurines and Limoges plates broken in a move. There's only one: Brooke's. They are priced accordingly. But their talent is undeniable. And intriguingly, they offer three levels of repair. This is no place to bring your Pier 1 mug. And they take their time. But for Meissen, Herend, Dresden, Staffordshire, etc. this is the only place. Their walls are covered with autographed photos of stars such as Elizabeth Taylor. I can see why. read more

Takes a while, but definitely worth the wait!! Could not recommend this place enough. Thank you so much.

I brought in a sculpture that had broken into several pieces, and Beto did a great job restoring it. Beto was communicative and clearly takes pride in his work. Highly recommend for any repairs or restorations! read more

I shattered the bottom half of a precious piece of hand made torch glass my beloved Mother made for me many years ago. A beautiful Fairey I treasured and broke, accidentally of course, shortly before my Mom passed. Heartbreak upon Heartbreak. I looked and looked for someone to fix her. I honestly do not remeber how I found this place, but I sent an email with a picture of my broken glass Fairey to the owner, Geoff Brookes. He wrote back a thoughful and sweet responce about my Mom's passing and her skill as an artist. And he assured me they could fix the glass. He directed me to his man Beto at the LA store to do the work. She came back to me as good as new. Beto was also very kind and understood how much this piece ment to me. He made me cry, in a good way. I am so glad to have her back, in one piece ~ Thank you Beto !! read more

I sheepishly visited Brookes with hopes that the clay Xmas ornament of Santa flying an airplane could be repaired. He is not inherently valuable or exotic and he's been too broken to hang on an Xmas tree for many years but he is the ornament my brothers and I most looked forward to hanging up as kids. Now that I have my own baby daughter I decided to see if I could find anyone willing to try to repair Santa's broken airplane wing and re-insert the ornament hook into his cracked and chipped hat. Beto was gracious and willing to tackle the challenge. He was equal parts kind and skilled and repaired my Santa as though he were a priceless artifact even though every ounce of the value lives only in my heart. Beto is a skilled craftsman and a kind soul. I offer him my highest recommendation to repair your damaged valuables, whatever they may be worth. read more

We had a large, beloved ceramic statue, which broke when we moved. In addition to being partially shattered , it needed the enamel paint redone as it had faded and peeled from 20 years outside. Thank you Brookes Restorations for refunding my money after you were unable to repair my vase.

This glass figurine had been broken and stored in a box for years. I visited Brookes' Westlake Village location and they were able to repair it quickly, and for half the $ of what another restoration business had estimated. This wizard figure has great sentimental value to my sweetheart - I'll surprise him with the repair for the holidays. The staff at Brookes did such a great job, plus I learned a lot about glass art from them! Highly recommended for repairs large and small. read more

Outrageously expensive. Junk shop look and feel - dusty old and sad...it's in a time warp. Slow response. Good place to film a horror movie.

My little Fenton glass cat had an ear broken off. This little cat was treated with the same respect and professional care as a priceless heirloom. The ear was faultlessly repaired! When we walked into the shop we knew that what they had restored would have cracks and obvious signs of the awful damage that occurred to the plate I've had for 50 years and loved. When it hit a hard wood floor, it was shattered into a few largish pieces AND millions of teensy weensy pieces. Like dust. We couldn't pick up all the teensiest pieces. But what they did was magical. We now have our plate back up on the wall and you would never know anything had happened to it. Really. read more

Bought a pre-historic artifact in Beirut earlier this year, a small glass vase, and when I arrived with it in LA, it was shattered in several pieces. We purchased in Paris a bowl sculpted by Thiebaut Chague, a sculptor whose work has been shown at many museums in Paris. The bowl was shipped to us and arrived broken with a large hole in its side. The photos attached show the broken bowl and the many pieces of the broken hole. We took the bowl and the broken pieces to Brookes Restorations and asked if the bowl could be repaired. It took about a month for the repair, and Wow! The third photo is the repaired bowl taken with the repaired spot in the middle of the photo. The only way we can identify the repair is looking inside the bowl to see on small area where the glue can be seen. If you need this type of repair, Brookes Restorations will greatly please you. read more

The centerpiece of our patio water feature was a 19th century wine giare, which was ruptured on the first 100 degree days in 2018. It took us months to find Brookes Restorations, but after an hour or so listening to a description of their plan for mending the very long cracks and repositioning the pieces that had been pushed out, we accepted their proposal. It was astonishing to see the completed work a couple of months later. No visible remnant of the disaster remains. The pot was glazed to protect it from the elements and it looks perfect. The team at Brookes Restorations surpassed our hopes. read more

Brookes fixed my vintage lamp that was broken into several pieces due to shipping. They give you three options to repair. I paid around $500 to fix a $100 lamp.. as to completely restore was close to $1500. That's why I can't give 5 stars just very expensive but it's in the middle of LA so I'm not surprised! Johnny was very kind and professional. He did a great job with the option I chose. Thank you Brookes, appreciate your business! read more

I had a beautiful little tray my father painted for me as a child and it was over 50 years old. It meant the world to me and especially since my father passed away over 30 years ago. My housekeeper accidentally broke it into pieces and glued it back together without telling me. It was so sweet of her to try but honestly it was ruined and the glue over time made it look worse. I reached out to Facebook friends and several people recommended Brooke's Restoration. I brought it in not expecting much could be done. I picked up my piece recently and I burst into tears!! It looked like it had never been broken! My heart was smiling and knowing this piece can be given to my children someday; a sentimental piece from their grandfather, there are no sufficient words to express my gratitude. It was more money that I originally thought but so worth it!! You will not be disappointed!! Thank you Jeff from the bottom of my heart! read more

These people are meticulous and miraculous. I took a broken china figurine here: I thought it was irreparable because of how many pieces were basically just dust. Brooks Restoration did an absolutely fantastic job restoring my magnificent Japanese Imari platter that I received as a wedding gift in 1965. It was broken into three pieces when I hit a bump on my way home from a Thanksgiving celebration where I was asked to make my roasted vegetables. When I received it back to me, I started to cry because it looks as beautiful as the day I received it. When you turn it over on the back it shows no signs that it had every been broken, and the front is as beautiful as the day I received it. Without a doubt, I can not say enough good things about the work Restoration Hardware does. In my widest dreams, I never thought it would be so magnificent again. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. Marilyn Geffeney read more

Okay, yes, they were slow. PAINFULLY slow (November to April). But you can't argue with the result. My dad sent my mom a 3-tiered candy dish from Belgium during WWII. Mom and Dad have been gone some time, but I inherited the dish... and, of course, broke one of the tiers a couple of years ago. An edge, in tiny, tiny pieces (now I know why mom kept it wrapped up and stored away). There were even some pieces missing in the painted part. So, I had resigned myself to a "patchwork" look, but at least having it in one piece. I can't tell you how shocked I was to walk in and find a piece that looked like it had never been broken, even through the painted areas. So shocked I don't think I was appreciative enough when I picked it up (I can't stop looking at it). This is my first time using a service like this. Quite honestly, there isn't much I have that's worth it to me to have restored -- nice things, but not irreplaceable. But this had a lot of sentimental value. If you've got something that really means a lot to you, I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I was completely blown away by the work they did on my lamp! I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review, but a few years ago my favorite lamp was dropped during our move and completely shattered. This is my first time using Brookes Restorations. I dealt exclusively with Johnny, who is a gem. I needed them after my first (and last!) experiment using command strips to mount a painting over a table where I kept the porcelain figurine that broke. The story of the figurine: this set of figurines belong to my mom. My mother grew up poor and during her childhood in the 1950s, she would pass a store window for months where they were displayed. She saved for months to buy a set of figurines (a mother dog and two puppies chained together via leashes). This is still probably her favorite object. She actually asked me to keep them so that dad wouldn't accidentally break them. These are the figurines I damaged. I felt so profoundly disappointed in myself. I couldn't the simple request to protect them. In my fury to figure out if I could do something, I did a search online for ceramic restoration. I ran through some, but didn't see any with the specialty of ceramic restoration. I finally came upon Brookes Restoration. I saw that they had some megastar clients, like the Getty and the Reagans. I thought, gosh, would it be absurd for little ole' me to send my little ole' mid-century ceramic "pooches" that my mom purchased for the equivalent of less than a dollar? But, just the same, I wanted my figurine to be fixed just as meticulously as their bigger name stuff. I contacted them. They were infinitely polite, and made me feel that my little figurine was just as important as anything else they addressed. I hadn't realized how much I valued them. They are definitely out of place with my other decorative pieces (art deco, midcentury and arts and crafts stuff). But I deeply missed them--I had no idea I would to this degree. When I got the set back, it was perfect. I have tried to look and look to see if I could find the originally damaged area and just can't. I am so appreciative of the art of craftsmanship that they offer. This is becoming more and more scarce. My one positive thought, my figurine broke while the skills to restore it still existed. As I am, if you exactly not of a big name, with exactly not a museum piece and live anywhere, you ship to Brookes Restoration who treat you and your damaged item(s) with the utmost (big name) care and respect. read more

I am a bit sentimental so when the stem of the Steuben Apple was broken when I moved I was truly sad. The apple had been a gift when we moved from Manhattan to Hilton Head Island in 1984. The stem was replaced with Steuben crystal and is a perfect restoration. read more
