I brought in a sculpture that had broken into several pieces, and Beto did a great job restoring it. Beto was communicative and clearly takes pride in his work. Highly recommend for any repairs or restorations!

Cracks repaired, wing reattached, ornament hook re-inserted, glossy coat of glaze added.

I sheepishly visited Brookes with hopes that the clay Xmas ornament of Santa flying an airplane could be repaired. He is not inherently valuable or exotic and he's been too broken to hang on an Xmas tree for many years but he is the ornament my brothers and I most looked forward to hanging up as kids. Now that I have my own baby daughter I decided to see if I could find anyone willing to try to repair Santa's broken airplane wing and re-insert the ornament hook into his cracked and chipped hat. Beto was gracious and willing to tackle the challenge. He was equal parts kind and skilled and repaired my Santa as though he were a priceless artifact even though every ounce of the value lives only in my heart. Beto is a skilled craftsman and a kind soul. I offer him my highest recommendation to repair your damaged valuables, whatever they may be worth.

This is the finished product. Repainted and perfect.

I had an emergency situation where I had to have a figurine restored. It had tremendous sentimental value but wasn't valuable. Abby and Beto did such an amazing job. Better than I would have expected. I could not say enough great things about how patient and helpful Abby was! They made something stressful for me, extremely easy and turned a big worry into a great finished product. Thank you!!

We had a large, beloved ceramic statue, which broke when we moved. In addition to being partially shattered , it needed the enamel paint redone as it had faded and peeled from 20 years outside. The care, knowledge and professionalism given to the restoration of our statue was above and beyond our highest hopes!! If you have something valuable that need repair this is THE place!

    Before

This glass figurine had been broken and stored in a box for years. I visited Brookes' Westlake Village location and they were able to repair it quickly, and for half the $ of what another restoration business had estimated. This wizard figure has great sentimental value to my sweetheart - I'll surprise him with the repair for the holidays. The staff at Brookes did such a great job, plus I learned a lot about glass art from them! Highly recommended for repairs large and small.

I just had a lovely Quezal glass vase restored by Brookes Restorations. I couldn't be happier. The vase looks absolutely beautiful, better than expected. Thank you so much. Worth every penny.

    Nothing missing

When we walked into the shop we knew that what they had restored would have cracks and obvious signs of the awful damage that occurred to the plate I've had for 50 years and loved. When it hit a hard wood floor, it was shattered into a few largish pieces AND millions of teensy weensy pieces. Like dust. We couldn't pick up all the teensiest pieces. But what they did was magical. We now have our plate back up on the wall and you would never know anything had happened to it. Really.

Bought a pre-historic artifact in Beirut earlier this year, a small glass vase, and when I arrived with it in LA, it was shattered in several pieces. The person that sold it to me did not properly package it for travel and I was not aware how fragile it was. They did a great job restoring it back to it's original condition and got it to me in just a matter of days.

We purchased in Paris a bowl sculpted by Thiebaut Chague, a sculptor whose work has been shown at many museums in Paris. The bowl was shipped to us and arrived broken with a large hole in its side. The photos attached show the broken bowl and the many pieces of the broken hole. We took the bowl and the broken pieces to Brookes Restorations and asked if the bowl could be repaired. It took about a month for the repair, and Wow! The third photo is the repaired bowl taken with the repaired spot in the middle of the photo. The only way we can identify the repair is looking inside the bowl to see on small area where the glue can be seen. If you need this type of repair, Brookes Restorations will greatly please you.

Damages - cracked nearly in two, with large section pushed out.

Outrageously expensive. Junk shop look and feel - dusty old and sad...it's in a time warp. Slow response. Good place to film a horror movie.

Ask the Community - Brookes Restorations

I have some crystal lamps that were damaged. Crystal repair requires machinery to fix the broken crystal. I was wondering if you do it yourselves at the shop or if it's sent out?

What is the nature of the damage? We restore in house. Probably best to bring the lamps in to our store for inspection and repair options. Regards, Geoff Brookes

I responded to their IG story, sent a picture of the credenza and received a quote right away. They organized pick up right away and within a week, they were finished and delivered it back to my house! 10/10 experience and would recommend them to everyone. 1. Quality of work: they brought the credenza that had water stains and years of wear and tear back to life! I am so happy with their work and results! 2. Communication: fast and reliable communication throughout the whole process. I asked lots of questions and they answered everything with professionalism. I'm a big fan of Gold Bug in Pasadena, but they are not quite as "dark" in their aesthetic. Memento Mori, on the other hand, feels like a pretty good replacement. So, what are you going to find here? Well, as you may have guessed from my intro, taxidermy. The classic boars and deer heads preserved as wall ornaments...but also delicate butterflies beautifully arranged under glass domes. While no where near as extensive a collection of preserved animal parts as Necromance, there still is a decent collection, particularly for decor. Memento Mori also lacks the strong mothball smell that permeated the aforementioned store. There is a large collection of silver jewelry incorporating classic taxidermy elements, such as glass eyes. And lots of trinkets for those of a "gothic" aesthetic. They also carry a number of very comfortable tshirts bearing variations of their logo, one of which currently hangs in my closet. Memento Mori also appears to serve as a gothic community center: they always have flyers and posters advertising events such as Endless Night, a vampire-themed ball, or gothic-themed fairs for artisans. So, definitely worth a visit if your aesthetics or predilections lean to the darker side of life.
